Colt alighted opening the car door for her to do the same which she did storming inside in anger directly to Alvin's study.
There he was with a calm face while on the phone speaking incoherently. She glared at him searching for the right words to say. He raised his head as if sensing a presence in his office then resumed speaking on the phone.
" What's the meaning of this Alvin? You embarrassed me. What did I do to you? Why are you treating me this way? Just let me go if you don't want me. Let me go Alvin" she snapped demonstrating with her hands.
Alvin laughed at her petty words. Standing in front of her in no time taking lazy steps forward as she stepped back trying to create some space between them.
Each step he took was taken by her too till she was trapped between his arms.
" I'm in charge here. You're my wife Kate. I spend my hard-earned money on you. Is this how you repay me? Do you want to leave me? " He asked locking gaze with her as she felt guilty muttering
" Louis called me earlier. I think something happened back home. I just want to see my mom. Please" she pleaded softly as she shushed her with his thumb on her lips caressing it
" Are you a doctor? I'm sure your little brother can take care of her. They have the money. Isn't that what you always wanted? Your place is beside me. I hate repeating myself. " He coerced grabbing her bag from her catching her off guard. She tried getting it from him but he glared at her confiscating her phone and laptop.
" You can do this. She's my mother too. Louis can't do it alone. Alvin, I'm begging you. Please, I want to see my mom. God knows I'm here because of her. You promised you'd take care of her. I'll never forgive you if she leaves me " she vowed which was like a piercing arrow to him as he stiffened staring at her then hugged her
" Haven't I been doing that? You're the disobedient one. I'll take care of her Kate. Don't you dare try to reach her? " He stated running his hands through her short curls
" I love my mom Alvin, she's been through a lot for us. I won't survive her death. Please save her " she pleaded seeming vulnerable as he consoled her over and over again. She rubbed her face on his chest sniffling
" she'll be fine. You need some rest " he stated as guards entered the room lining up
" What about my phone? Alvin!! She called but he said nothing releasing her from the hug
" Take her inside. Guard her room. I don't want her going nowhere" he ordered as they nod
Agitated, she stepped away from him with bewilderment. He was going to lock her indoors.
' Alvin, please don't do this to me. I'll be obedient. I won't call mom. For God's sake Alvin, I'll lose my job. It's my only job. I'm begging you don't lock me in. Oh no," she pleaded fidgeting as she started wheezing.
Alvin removed her inhaler from her bag taking steady steps towards her but she was moving away from him walking in circles but was too weak as he held her intending to compress the inhaler to her mouth then she yanked his hands off wheezing, tears rolling down from her eyes.
" What? You wanna die? Well, you'll need my permission to die too " with that said he grabbed her compressing the inhaler in her mouth forcefully.
She pushed him off with a slap immediately she regained herself. The slap came suddenly to him as his face contorted sideways
" Good. We're even" he stated which surprised Colton.
" You bastard. Take me to my mother" she whimpered as Colton carried her away but she bit him wagging her legs and hitting him. It didn't seem to faze him. Then she started cussing at Alvin.
" I want to see my mom you bastard, deceitful bastard. You're narcissistic. Bullying the weak. Using my family to blackmail me. I can't wait to leave you. I'm going to leave you one day and you'll never see me. You're going to be unloved again. Maybe meet your better half. I pray she dupes you. You're a devil. A fucking devil. Alvin, do you hear me? You're a devil" she kept cussing. Slandering him to ease her pain but none could quench it then she felt something cold on her neck and passed out.
He picked her up from Colton walking to his room instead. Didn't she slander him? Threaten him also? He couldn't help but shudder at the thought of losing her.
He dropped her on the bed looking at her petite figure.
" Sir, her mother is sick again. She seems to need another donor. The other kidney failed. You know she's diabetic. This could be dangerous" Colton announced as he massaged his brow helplessly sitting down with his gaze never leaving her
" She means the world to Kate. Find her another donor. I want her alive. She has a big part to play in taming Kate. Get back to work Colton. Leave Kate to me. "
" She'll be out for some days. Her muscles need to relax. " He advised as Alvin waved him off.
" What about Louis? What should I tell him about Kate?
" Anything. Think of something. " He said sitting beside her holding her hands. He couldn't help but admire her love and loyalty to her mother.
" Yes Sir. Perhaps Lisa should take care of her" Colt suggested
" It's better that way. " He stated pulling a quilt over her recalling her Wailing insults.
He sneered leaving the room while Colton followed.
