CATHERINE POV
I am so happy Adam ignored my whining and made me eat in the restaurant. The food was great and I enjoyed every last bit of it.
"Thank you." I said as I looked at him.
"For what?" He asked, with his gaze tightly fixed outside the window.
"For the food, it was delicious."
For the first time in 15 minutes we were in the car. He turned to me with a smile on his face. Then without warning he cupped my hand in his.
"Catherine, I want to apologize for my rude behavior earlier in the jet. I shouldn't have behaved in such a way towards you. I am very sorry."
His apology touched my heart deeply. I didn't realize when my eyes were tearing up until a tear drop touched my hand.
"Thank you, your apology means so much to me than you can ever imagine."
"I Know we started off on the wrong foot, but please permit me to write my mistakes. Let us start afresh, with no secret and honesty all the way."
"Really?" I was still surprised with everything happening. Am I dreaming? I pinched myself with my other free hand. The pain cleared my doubt.
"Yes Catherine. In such a short while we have known each other you have rocked my world, I can boldly say you mean so much to me. And hurting you is like hurting myself."
I couldn't say a word just listen as he continued speaking.
"I don't know if this is possible to get attached to a person with having to just know them for a short while but it is exactly how I feel, this is what happened to me Catherine," he said my name with so much gentleness I couldn't take my eyes off him as i feel butterflies in my tummy. This is actually happening.
"You mean so much to me." Lowering his head, Adam kissed me with so much tenderness, there was no haste, only passion. His kisses felt like he had forever to kiss me. I returned the kiss with equal gentility, combing my fingers in his hair as he deepened the kiss.
"And since we are starting off in honesty, There is something I would like to tell you." He said after ending the kiss. "I..I lied to you. There is no emergency, I just wanted my grandmother to meet you. She has been pestering me to bring home a woman and you are the only woman capable of taking home."
For a moment I was speechless, not sure what to say or how to react. But there is something I am quite certain of, I am not hurt or angry by what he did.
In fact, I feel special that he considers me worthy of such privilege. Because it is truly an honor for me to be taken to his family.
Placing a finger under his chin I raised his head so he could look at me. "Thank you." And with that, I pulled him closer for a warm embrace.
The car came to a halt in front of a white splendid gate.
"We are home." Adam excitedly informed me as he helped me out of the car.
"Thank you." I muttered, giving him a smile of appreciation.
As I stood outside the car, I took my time to look at the beautiful mansion in front of me as I waited for Adam to pass orders to the driver and his guards that followed behind us in a black car. The mansion is built in a Korean traditional way but has a modern touch to it.
"Are you ready?" He asked when he got close to me and was done giving them instruction.
"Yes, although I must confess I am a little bit tense."
"You don't have to be, my grandma and mother will love." He assured me as he pecked me softly on my cheek.
Holding my hand he led the way and I followed walking by his side. After ringing the bell twice, the door flew open and standing right in front of him was a beautiful elderly woman with gray hair and average height.
She had a slender figure, and looked like she was in her 60's but looked younger than her age. Judging by her appearance and how beautiful she looks regardless of her age, you will know she was a beauty when she was younger and is still a beauty.
"Come in my dear." Eunice cheered excitedly.
"Grandma!" Adam left my hand and took his grandmother in a warm embrace filled with love. "What if mother?" He looked round searching for his mother with his eyes.
"She is in the kitchen my dear." Turning towards the kitchen she called out. "Naomi! My dear Adam is finally home. In the meantime please come Inside."
"Thank you ma'am."
"Oh please stop that, please call me Eunice. What is your name my dear?" She smiled at me waiting for my response.
"My name is Catherine, Catherine Shawn."
"What a lovely name, please have your seat."
"Thank you." I responded sweetly, the smile on my face never seemed to end.
"I see you have a fine taste." Eunice said to Adam, as she wiggled her brow at him.
"Yes grandma, she is the best." Said Adam as he looked at me endearingly, holding my hand in his which unknowingly brought his grandmother's attention to my finger.
"Hold on a minute," a frown settled in her face, making her wrinkles obvious. "Where is my future daughter in-law's engagement ring?"
Oh oh, I and Adam exchanged looks between ourselves. "How will he respond now?" Can't help but wonder.
