The van finally stopped. The man went to my side and took a hold of my arm. He took out his knife and told me to keep quiet. I did as he tells me to do. My heart was pounding hard, I was truly afraid for my life.
"Come on get out." The driver opened the van door and told his friend to pull me out. I let out a little scream, as he twisted my arm harshly.
Then he slapped my face. "I told you to keep quiet you stupid bitch!" I cried and sobbed.
I was dragged in front of the dingy warehouse. They knocked a couple of times until the door was opened from the inside. I was shocked to find the twins, on the other side of the door. They were smiling wickedly at me.
"Ah, our lovely Marissa. Why the sad face? Are you scared of the boys? Ah...boys, come in and tie her up on that chair, will you? I'll go get your money." Jennifer told one of my kidnappers, as he tugged me to one of the dusty one-seater sofas. My tears kept on falling, my hand hurt so bad, as it was getting swollen.
The man tied my body to the chair, and gathered my hand, and tied my wrist to my front. I was letting out a scream as he tied it firmly and hurt my already sprained hand. Then he grabbed my face and told me to shut up. I was shaking and kept on crying.
Then Jennifer came into the room with a small bag, Jessica was busy in another corner, she was having a hot kissing session with the driver.
What the hell?? When did that happen?
"Come on bro. Let's get out of here. Let them do their thing. I'm fucking hungry." He told his driver friend, as he took the bag from Jennifer.
But then a loud sound came from the door. Then there were cans letting out smokes, I was breathing heavily, my eyes burn, they hurt so bad from the smoke. I kept on squinting them and opening them again trying to look at my surrounding.
What the fuck is going on??
I could hear them shouting, but I was struggling to see from the could of smoke, it was very heavy and the sounds were too loud for me to comprehend what was going on. I could see shades of men in black with masks.
Are they here for me? Nate, did he get my message?
I could hear the twins screaming, and there were gunshots echoing throughout the warehouse. Then there were shouts, I was trying to find out what was going on. But it was too dark and smokey, from where I was tied up.
Finally, I heard a voice calling out my name. A familiar voice, the voice that I was longing to hear.
"Marissa! Baby, are you okay? Oh my god. I'm so sorry baby. I'm so sorry, I should've been there for you...." Nate was kissing my face, and quickly looked at me, and let out a train of curses.
"Rope, cut it. Arm sprained. Nate, please. It hurt so bad." I told him with my small raspy voice. I had been crying and screaming so much. I barely could speak out words.
He cursed some more and finally helped me, and let me out of my binds. I was in his loving arms in no time, as he carried me outside to the fresh air. I was crying in his chest, he was pulling me tighter in his embrace, making me sobbed harder.
"I got you, baby, you're good Marissa. Ssh...it's okay my love. Just let it all out." He got me into a car, and put me on his lap, and keep me close to his chest. I took in his warmth, and inhale his scent. I was crying, but feeling relaxed already in his arms.
I could hear him talking to the other man. "...yes Dave, that's Jennifer and the other one is Jessica her stepsisters. No, I didn't see Pamela either...." He was rubbing my back and holding me close to him, then he saw my swollen sprained hand and cursed.
"Damn Dave, I need to get her to the hospital. Where's the ambulance?" But their siren was heard, as he asked for them.
"Marissa baby, I need you to be checked by the paramedic..." I was crying again and frantically shaking my head, I was not ready to let him go. I kept on latching to his chest.
Then he picked me up again and carried me to the ambulance. I could hear him introducing himself, and talking to the paramedic to take it easy on me.
"Miss Henderson, my name is Jason, I'm going to examine you now. If you could please look at me...I need to check your vision...." Nate still keeps his hold on me, while I stirred my body to the paramedic for him to check.
"Sir, if you could hold her for me. Miss Henderson, this is going to hurt a bit. But I will have to take a look at your wrist. It's sprained, I will have to put a splint on your arm. You will need to go to the hospital and get an x-ray. I believe it's a grade two sprained, but just to be on the safe side okay?....." He kept on talking to me, Nate kept on rubbing my other arm, and kissed the top of my head, while whispering his loving words in my ear.
Then we went to the hospital in the ambulance. Dave talked to Nate that he will meet us at the hospital, saying he needed to get my statement. I just nodded at him, and stay engulfed in Nate's embrace.
I just wanted things to be over. I was just so tired.
"Can I be with you tonight? I don't want to sleep alone. Can you talk and explain everything to dad? I'm just so tired Nate. I just want to sleep in your arms." I whispered in his chest, as we were waiting for the x-ray result in the hospital.
"Yes baby, anything you want. I'll take care of everything for you. Just rest Marissa, I love you baby. Just rest..." He pulled me closer in his embrace.
Dave had come and taken my statement. "We got the two kidnappers and your stepsisters in custody. We're currently processing them. I'll be in touch with you, I'll be meeting Albert right after this. He's still in my office, he's going to notify your dad later....." He kept on talking to me and Nate, while I was feeling sleepy from the pain meds.
It was seven in the evening when we finally arrived at Nate's. I was drained, he was stripping me naked and putting me in the warm bathwater. I keep on latching myself to him, so he joined me in the bath, and keep on holding me.
He made me wear one of his t-shirts, then re-bandaged my wrist after giving it an ice pack. He made me eat some sandwiches before I took my Advil, then he finally let me sleep in his embrace.
I have never felt so safe in my entire life before. "I love you, Nate. Always, forever." I slurred my words as I drifted off to sleep.
