I was walking down the hallway, when suddenly something or should I say someone bump into me from behind. Making me fall to the floor, and thrown away the books that I was carrying.
I looked at the person who I bumped onto, but I suddenly stunned and my heart skipped a bit.
'H-He's so handsome'
Mesmerized by the view, I can't help but to gape. Mamma Mia! I didn't know that such a beautiful creature like him exist! He's actually the perfect figure of Adonis!
I felt my heart suddenly beats fast.
Oh my! I think I've been love-at-first-sight to this man. He is so handsome! And he looks kind tho.
“Ah, Miss?” I was brought back to reality and my eyes blinked as it spoke.
Shocks, it was so embarrassing! But in all fairness, his voice was so handsomely calm to the point that I feel like I was in a cloud 9.
I averted my gaze and did my best not to look at him again, because I might get stunned again by his good looks.
I just picked up my books that has been scattered on the floor.
“Let me help you, Miss” he said. Hmm, I'm not mistaken he was kind.
When we all picked it up, I immediately stood up and wipe the dust on my skirt.
“I really am sorry miss. I'm in a hurry because I'm hiding someone that I didn't even know that there's a person in front of me” he said apologetically. Who's that he's hiding? He is not a criminal, right? Does he?
“Oh, I'm not a criminal! If that's what you think!” he defended. He probably read what's on my mind because of the expression on my face.
“As my apology, please let me take you to your class,” he said. My eyes got widened.
‘What a gentleman. Who said that chivalry is dead? It's not!’
“No, it's okay. Really. I can handle,” I refused. Even though I'm a crazy and flirtatious person, I still know the word shame.
“I insist, just please let me” he said then smiled genuinely at me.
Oh my don't smile at me like that. My underwear's might fall off—what? Haist, you're really becoming a flirt Margaux.
“Alright!” I said. I just agreed, because I think he has no plan to stop insisting until I let him.
He asked me where my class was. I answered him. “Class 2-1”
“Woah, we're just in the same class,” he said with a surprise expression plastered on his face. Yieee! Is this what you called destiny?
I mentally laughed because of what I just think. Me and my nonsense.
“What's your name?” he asked.
“Margaux Braid” I simply said.
“Your name is gorgeous! By the way, I am Vince Dione” he said and I suddenly felt butterflies on my stomach when he said that my name is gorgeous. But, doesn't his name's also beautiful?
“Your name is also nice and lovely, it suits you” I praised him.
“Ahm, thanks.” he said and scratched his brows.
We did not realize that we're already at the entrance of our classroom because we're too busy talking to each other. Okay, maybe I'm just lying to myself, I didn't realize that we're already here because my attention was focused on him.
We stopped talking and went inside. And then after we went inside, the noisy classroom suddenly fell silent when they saw us, or should I say when they saw him.
Women and gays suddenly starts screaming nonstop, while the men are glaring at him. Maybe because their girlfriend is screaming at him too.
I no longer wonder why are they like this to Vince. There's only one answer to that, because he is handsome.
“Oh my gosh, there's a new handsome transferrie!”
“Oh my, who is that good-looking boy? I think I'm inlove”
“Make me yours, handome! I can make you happy”
“Make me pregnant, handsome!”
“Dimwit! You don't even have a mattress, girl!”
I mentally laughed at what they said, and shook my head.
I just sat in the vacant seat at the last row near the window. There were two more vacant seats—it is the seat next to me, and in the front.
Well, I don't want to seat in the front because it gets too much attention from the professors.
I was surprised when suddenly someone sat next to me. I already knew it's Vince because of his scent.
"Do you mind if I sit next to you?" he asked me while smiling widely again. Oh, please don't smile at me like that.
I slightly shook my head. “No, of course not. You’re free to sit there.” I said and smiled back.
My classmates immediately return to their seats when a professor came.
“Good morning, students. I'm your professor in Math. I'm Prof. Jhana Rewis, please introduce yourselves up-front” Professor Jhana said.
My classmates who seats in the front starts introducing themselves. It goes smoothly until it reaches Vince.
Like the others, Vince stood in front and introduce himself.
“I'm Vince Dione Bedingfield, 19 years old. It's nice to meet you all!” he said and smiled, and of course the women and gays started screaming again at the top of their lungs.
Well, except me. Maybe I had a little bit— okay drop the little bit, maybe I had a crush on him, but I'm not that aggressive. Remain the poise. I came from a wealthy family so I must stay in poise...sometimes？
But wait! Let's get back to what he said. Did he say, BEDINGFIELD is his surname？Oh no, if he is a Bedingfield we shouldn't be friends. We should be enemies. A very sad realty, maybe I must start forgetting him.
“Ah, miss?” Professor Jhana calls my attention. And then I noticed that they were all looking at me.
I immediately stood up and suddenly blushed in embarrassment. “I'm sorry, Prof. Jhana” I apologized.
I walked in front and introduce myself like the others. “I-I'm Margaux Braid Hu-Hutchinson, 19. Nice to meet you all.” I said while stuttering.
The shock was evident on Vince's face when he heard my last name. Who won't, our family is just their biggest rival and enemy. I know he also realized it. We must not be friends.
I return to my seat. Vince and I were completely ignored each other after that.
After a few hours later, the class ended, ywt we still didn't talk to each other again.
I picked all my things up and was about to leave the classroom, when suddenly he called me. I stopped walking.
“Margaux, can we talk?” he was already near me in just a couple of seconds. I take a deep breath.
“O-Okay” I guess we need to talk about it too.
We didn't bother to find a place where we could talk. After all, no one could hear what we were talking about because there were only two of us here.
“Can we be friends?” he asked. I was stunned and bit my lips.
“But... our families we're enemies,” I sadly said. Yeah sad, but that's the reality.
“Let's not just think that we came from hostile families. And we don't even have to be involved in their fight, the important thing is that we are friends” he said.
I think for a moment then smiled at him broadly. "Alright, then. Let's eat together tomorrow!" I said gladly.
He looked shocked, but I just smiled sweetly at him. This is me.
“Come on, let's go home!” Vince said I just nod and we headed to the parking lot.
“Oh I'll go ahead now, let's see each other again tomorrow,” he said. I didn‘t say something and just nod again. I bit my lip and I smiled at him.
I headed to my car. Liam is not here yet, so I will wait for him again.
Vince was already left with a girl I thought was younger than him, I think it was his younger sister.
Liam arrived after a couple of minutees and went straight to the front seat "It looks like you're blissful today sister," he criticized me.
“Yes, of course! I have a new friend,”
“Oh let me guess, your friend is a man! If yes, I think you consider him more than a friend, don't you?” Liam said mockingly. I blushed.
‘Shocks! Am I that obvious?’
“Oh, shut up, Liam!” I exclaimed. He just chuckled.
I started the engine, and we left the University.
Some time later after my car left the University I heard a shout coming from Director Benj. “Cut!”
“Good. All of you are very excellent! We will continue this tomorrow. You must all be here at 8:00 o'clock so that we will not be delayed”
At last! It's already 5:00 p.m. I’m tired.
They bid their goodbyes at each other except me. I got in my car first and drove home.
