Chapter 30
"Stone! Please! Get me out of here! I want to help Damon—”
"Luna, it is not advisable for you to go out. You can't help Alpha Damon," Stone explained to me. I shook my head and looked at him pleadingly.
"But...what if something happened to him while I'm not around?" I asked with my teary eyes. I felt Anna approach me. Anna and I are here inside the basement where Stone took me. I didn't expect that there was such a place in the palace.
I remember we went through a tunnel inside the library. I didn't expect that there was a hidden tunnel in the library. Perhaps it has long been made for this situation. In that tunnel, a large room opened up to us. It was just a square and empty except for a long chair.
"Luna...Alpha Damon will not be an Alpha if he will be easily defeated. Trust me, Luna...he is strong. He has won many battles, especially now that there is a woman waiting for him," Anna calmed me down.
I bit my lower lip and sat on the chair tiredly. Anna is right. I should believe Damon. If I keep worrying about Damon like this, he might think I don't trust him. Somehow my feelings calmed down.
"Anna, do you know...how can they be stopped from attacking the palace? How can they be stopped from targeting Damon?” I asked Anna.
Anna sighed next to me. I also feel her concern about what is happening. I know she has a lot of respect for the Scot family. I know how much she treasured this family. Because this family saved her.
"The truth...is I also don't know, Luna. It all started when Alpha Damon's father sat on the throne. Since then, the Alpha king's life has been a series of attacks and hardships. Until…” she took a deep breath. I saw fear in her eyes.

"Anna...you should rest. I will tell Luna Athena," Stone suggested but Anna shook her head. My lips parted. What is going on?
"Luna...I...I saw how Alpha Damon and Alpha Devon's parents...got killed," she said painfully. Tears welled up in her eyes. I swallowed hard when I heard her sobs.
"I...tried to protect them...but..." Anna sobbed even more. Damon's parents were killed...and Anna witnessed it. I can't imagine the pain she felt.
"...I was...raped," I felt like time stopped when she said that. It was like a bomb exploded in front of me. Anna whined more and I was surprised when Stone hugged her tightly. I even saw the anger and hatred in his eyes. Don't tell me...
"Anna..." my voice trembled when I called her. I felt the stinging pain in my chest as I watched her cry. I didn't even realize that my tears were falling. Anna is a nice and beautiful girl...what did she do wrong to go through all this?
"I-I'm...sorry..." I said with a trembling voice. I feel like it's my fault because she remembered that bad memory. I was insensitive. I shouldn't have asked that. If only I knew this would happen.
"Don't feel sorry Luna...I just can't help getting emotional while..." she closed her eyes tightly and held Stone's hand to say she was fine. I bit my lower lip while watching the two. I just realized that…they suit each other so much.
"They should be punished..." I felt the anger running through my veins. Neither Anna nor Damon deserves to experience all this. It shouldn't be like this. They deserve justice. They deserve... that.
"That's what we want, Luna but the enemy is cautious...they know we're hunting them down and they are taking extra care not to be caught," Stone said grittily.
I thought of Damon's search for justice in the deaths of Alpha Devon and Neticia. Perhaps that…
"Do you think the one who killed Damon's parents and Alpha Devon are...the same person?" I asked. Stone's jaw clenched.
"That's what we're speculating, Luna..." Stone said. I gritted my teeth. For the throne and power, they can do everything. And they even use the rogues to attack the palace. Whoever is behind all of this is not just anyone.
They are dangerous.
I approached Anna and hugged her tightly. I felt her shock, but she let me hug her.
"You're so strong...Anna," I whispered to her. She pressed her face on my shoulder and wept silently there. I caressed her back to comfort her.
She didn't hesitate to help Damon and Alpha Devon's parents because she valued the Scot family so much for helping her. That's why even in exchange for this, the wound that she will carry for the rest of her life, she still chooses to fight them.
"I promised...to have justice for you...Anna," I said as if I was betting my life here just to get the justice she deserved.
We were in that situation when the basement door suddenly opened. Stone was ready to attack whoever that was, but we all stopped when we saw Damon! I stood up quickly to approach Damon! I quickly hugged him tightly. My head was pressed against his chest as I hugged him tighter.
"I was worried..." I whispered. I felt that some of his men entered the basement, but I didn't care anymore. I just want to hug Damon as my life depends on it.
I felt his hand touch my back. I felt him kiss the top of my head. That's why I raised my eyes so that our eyes met.
"Didn't I tell you? I will always come back alive..." he said softly. Tears formed in the corner of my eyes.
"I...love you too..." I whispered to him but enough for him to hear. I just want to bring back what he said in my mind before we got separated earlier. I heard it very clear that's why I want him to know that I feel the same way.
His lips rose for a smile. My heart skipped a beat.
"I wanna kiss you right now but...we have so many audiences..." he smirked. My eyes widened and I looked around. My cheeks warmed when I realized he was right. They were all looking at us and smiling hugely at us. Damn it!
"I want to be alone in our room...my Luna," Damon whispered and pulled my hand to storm out of the basement.
