Tunnel
Dante.
I tapped my right foot on the ground and I looked at my wristwatch again. The meeting was supposed to start 15 minutes ago and Landon and Viktor still weren't here.
I remembered seeing them kiss at Duchester Hall the other day when they were this close to being killed.
What an epic love. I rolled my eyes.
Zon and Nathan looked at me curiously and they glanced at each other. I smiled and looked away.
The two of them should most likely be together right now so they should arrive to that.
I take that back, I looked at my side as Viktor pulled a chair back and sat down.
"I'm sorry I'm late," he apologized and I rolled my eyes. I still hadn't gotten the explanation about how he was connected to the Redwoods and he was adding to the ager I felt against him.
"Keep that sorry till you see the consequence in your paycheck at the end of the month," I said, and Immediately I did, I realized how stupid I sounded. He obviously didn't need the money when he could easily get it. Well, maybe that's why he's really working at Rivera - to spy on us and report all our moves to the Redwoods.
Yes, I thought he and Landon would be here, where the hell was he?? He never gets late to a meeting
"Where's Landon?" I asked.
"He told me he was coming, he should be here," Viktor replied.

45 minutes later, Landon hadn't still come had he didn't call us to tell us why he couldn't make it or anything. That was unusual of him.
I glanced at Viktor, was there any issue between them??
"You said Mr. Cartel is on his way, and we are almost done," Zon said.
"Yes, that was what he told me, something must have held him down."
"Well, I'm sure you'll see him, and when you do, brief him about everything," I said and put on a fake smile to imply how close the two of them are.
My phone rang and I reached for it, looking at who was calling. It was the man who I sent to help me monitor the movement of Minerva.
Yesterday, I wasn't able to go to the club where she was supposed to be because of the issue with the Rogues.
Hoping that he already had info on her movement, I stood up and excused myself.
"Excuse me."
I accepted the call, "Tell me that you have useful information."
"Yes, I just got notified that Minerva will be on move to meet a business partner in the next 30 minutes," he said and I nodded in satisfaction.
"Alright. Stay close to the estate gate, we'll meet you there in 10 minutes," I said and ended the call, walking back to the table.
"I think we've all come to an agreement now, there's somewhere I really need to be," I said quickly.
"Alright. Have a nice day," Zon replied and stood up, walking out of the restaurant. Viktor left like he was in a hurry too.
Nathan stood up and he raised his eyebrows inquiringly.
"I just got called that Minerva will be meeting up with a business partner in the next 30 minutes," I said and he shook his head.
"You're still going to do that."
"Yes, and we have to hurry up," I said, but he shook his head again.
"Yeah, I'm not going with you," Nathan said and I frowned.
"Fine. Have it your way," I pushed my chair in and took a gulp of the wine in my glass before picking up my briefcase and walking out of the restaurant.
"You can drop me at the estate though," Nathan ran after him, but I rolled my eyes, climbed into the car and started it.
"Yeah, take a cab," I replied and I drove off.
"But we came together," I heard him say loudly but I ignored him and continued driving..
I got back to the estate in 15 minutes and I saw that Lucas was already waiting at the gate with the security guard. I pulled over and as he spotted me, he walked over to me with two other men since we might need to put up a fight if things go south.
Lucas sat next to me while the other two sat at the back.
"So, how are we going to follow Minerva?"

I sat in the car looking out frequently to see if anyone will come out of the tunnel. Right now, Minerva De Martel was in there, discussing with a business partner and we were waiting here until she was ready to leave so we could double cross her.
I pulled out my phone and texted Nathan.
Dante: Did you see Jared?? What did he say??
I dropped the phone and looked up again, but no one had come out yet and we had been waiting for over 35 minutes. The club would have been a perfect place to meet her
yesterday.
My phone beeped and I picked.
Nathan: He said her heart has fully healed and she should wake up within the week.
I sighed in relief. If what happens yesterday showed me anything, it was that she's too vulnerable in that state.
Dante: Alright. Are you there right now??
Nathan: No, but her room is being watched.
I looked up as I saw a man walk out with several guards accompanying him. He stopped walking and looked in the direction of our car. Immediately, we all bent down so he wouldn't see us.
We were in a dumpsite for cars so the presence of our car is not supposed to arouse suspicion.
He looked away and he walked away with his guards, climbing into his car and driving off.
Next, a lady who I guessed was Minerva stepped out of the tunnel with just two guards and she walked gracefully to her car.
She was a beautiful woman and this was the first time I would see her.
I watched as her drove off, and immediately, I drove in the opposite road. According to Lucas, there was a turn up ahead that'll give us a shortcut we can use to intercept her vehicle at the front.
I'm about to talk to a True Vampire with a grudge, better hope this is worth it.
