Number One Rule
Luther.
I sat by the bar and gulped down the vodka in my shot glass. I sighed and looked around the club. Colorful disco lights were flashing everywhere. The music playing was so loud and my enhanced hearing and it so hard especially now that I couldn’t control them.
There were so many people on the dance floor, dancing, grinding against each other, moving their bodies seductively, and laughing.
I could hear so many heartbeats and see the bulging veins in their necks.
God! I need to put my shit together right now. I left the fortress since morning because I felt irritated and unsafe. With Papa being around and having people reporting everything to him.
I even had to come to a human club so every Vampire I meet is a suspect.
I ordered another glass of wine and just as I gulped it down, a lady walked up to me.
“Hello.” She winked at me seductively and sat on the chair next to me. She crossed her legs gracefully, exposing the smooth skin of her thigh before me.
“I noticed you sitting here alone since you entered and I thought the two of us can have fun together,” She said and moved closer to me. She placed her hand on my lap and I felt my jeans tighten.

I hated that Papa had his way of always making me scared. I wasn't supposed to be controlled by him anymore, but it was impossible.
He was too powerful, not just physically. He had more brutal ways of destroying someone.
I pulled up in front of the fortress and I looked up to see Papa standing on the balcony at the top of the fortress.
He gestured with his fingers for me to come up and I sighed before mustering all of my strength and leaping into the air.
I landed on the balcony on my feet and one hand, and as I raised my head up, I saw a face I hadn't seen in a long time.
"Rhazien-" I muttered softly as I stared at him. He looked just as he did back then - with the dark veins on his face and his devilish red eyes.
Then there was the choking death energy he released.
How did Papa get him to come back or accept to be this ruthless monster again. How did he do it so soon??
"Luther, Papa was just telling me that you tried to hide that you saw me when my goddamned humanity was on," Rhazien said in that same familiar metallic voice.
I gulped and plastered on a smile, "Well, who knows, I guess I just found that fake face more attractive," I replied and he simply muttered, "Hmn".
"That's okay my boys," Papa interrupted us and I faced him. Now that he got Rhazien back, what did he intend to do.
"We have a lot of work to do."
"As long as there'll be magic to feed on, I'll happily do it," Rhazien replied with a devilish grin.
"Oh, trust me, there will be lots of that, but first, we have some people to deal with for breaking our number one rule," Papa said and I realized what he meant. The rule was not touching a Redwood.
"We have to make those who killed your brother, Javier, pay dearly for it."
