"Watch as I make them suffer for your sake."
With a pair of jagged, blood wings on his back, the Blood Bishop hovered above the battlefield as he purposely turned the skies red. Clouds circled the battlefield with red bursts of lightning roaring within them.
The air became heavier and blew harshly with the iron scent of blood suffocating those foolish enough to stay instead of running.
All this happened while hundreds of thousands of Ethisians, Granians, and Cyclitharans fled for their lives. The Granians and Cyclitharans returned to their ships with a few flying away at a safe distance, leaving the Ethisians behind.
Because this was a planet raided by the Granians, the Ethisians didn’t have a ship for them to board to escape the Blood Bishop. They were completely at his mercy.
With nowhere to hide from the Blood Bishop, the Ethisians turned to the planet, seeking refuge in the craters, holes, crevices, cracks, caves, and canyons they could find.
Anywhere they could hide was good enough but because of this, the stronger ones took the better spots for themselves while the weaker were forced to scurry and look elsewhere. A disaster unfolded right before their eyes with some of the Ethisians turning their backs on each other instead of working together.
Despite them all sharing a common enemy, they opted to save their own skins instead of working together.
"Pitiful," Ace sighed, and then with his hand raised, he folded his fingers and unleashed hell on them, "utterly pitiful."
The clouds thickened and darkened, the skies turned completely blood red with the dark, scarlet clouds blocking pure sunlight from reaching the planet’s surface. Those who were running lost all hope and wearily turned their heads to the Blood Bishop.
His monstrous figure, further accented by his jagged wings let them know that it was over. No one was coming to save them and there was completely nothing they could do.
From the skies fell red bolts of energy, energy consisted of concentrated levels of Blood Energy. The bolts, upon impact, disintegrated Ethisian bodies in almost an instant, turning them into blobs of guts and blood.
At first, it was one bolt that struck the ground, taking along with it most of the Ethisian’s body. All who laid eyes on the sight screamed and panicked. There was nothing they could do against an enemy that commanded lightning to strike from the skies.
They didn’t even bother to fight back, let alone defend themselves properly. No, instead they chose to try and run as far as they could. But where could they go?
The clouds stretched over the land, meaning they couldn’t escape the onslaught of energy strikes. Even though there were land vehicles at their disposal, they still wouldn’t be enough to escape from the Blood Bishop’s onslaught.
*BAM* *BAM* *BAM* *BAM*
Hundreds of energy bolts fell from the sky and exploded the bodies they touched, killing the Ethisians instantly. As this happened, the Granians and Cyclitharans watched from their ships.
For the first time, many of them took pity on the Ethisians and the rest started to fear the Blood Bishop, not because of what he was doing but because they knew not many were strong enough to stop him. If that was the case, who’d dare stand in his way if he decided to turn on the Granians?
In the meantime though, they were glad he was on their side. For how long was the question they all had lingering on their minds.
The Cyclitharans, on the other hand, took this sight as a testament to the Granians and their strengths in the field of science. To them, Ace was nothing but a powerful lab experiment curated by the Granians.
His ability to cause so much chaos showed that they, the Granians, were capable of causing so much more. Because of that, some started to covet that power for their own selfish gains.
’Imagine if we had it for ourselves?’ they wondered with awe for Ace’s abilities. ’If one can do this, imagine what an entire army can do.’
"Please, don’t do this. Stop, I beg of you. Let them go, it’s me you’re dealing with, not them."
The High Grade’s pleas for mercy fell on deaf ears as Ace continued what he was doing. It was no use, no matter how much the High Grade pleaded, there was nothing that was going to stop Ace until he killed every last one of the Ethisians.
Once the last bolt of lightning struck the last Ethisian, the clouds dispersed and gave way for the sun to shine through, revealing a dark, ominous sight.
The battlefield was painted red. Blood spilled everywhere as the ground soaked it all up, turning its soil from orange to blood red.
Body parts were scattered all over, some barely recognizable, and others still intact. In fact, a handful of the Ethisians were still barely alive but their injuries slowly drained the life out of them.
With the onslaught now behind him, the Blood Bishop returned to the ground with the High Grade still in his grasp. She had given up long before the onslaught ended, having felt that all those lives and all that blood was on her hands. She was responsible for it and there was absolutely nothing she could do.
"Blood Essence, manifest."
The battlefield erupted with a rumbling shaking its foundations. The spilled blood glowed with a dark red energy nearly blinding the surviving onlookers. Slowly, the blood started to gather separately into thick clumps as they grew in height.
The High Grade couldn’t believe her eyes as she watched this unfold. Her people, the very ones she got killed, were brought back to life but in the form of blood. Roughly five hundred thousand or so Ethisians stood before her, all endowed with glorious but jagged sets of armor laced with Ace’s dark energy.
