Chapter 32
Music echoes throughout the palace as everyone is celebrating the Coronation of Queen Arcadia, she watched her subjects entertain her with music, dance and food and she felt a deep satisfaction in her heart.
She had never been so happy before in her entire life.
"My Queen," she diverts her gaze to see Asher bent over, she laughs a little and asked him to rise, "do tell me something your majesty, do you think I'm lucky?" He starts with his riddles, she thinks for a while and gives a toothy grin,
"I'm not entirely sure, but what do you think? Do you think you're lucky enough?" She throws the same question back and this gives him a hard time.
"Yes, I do think so. I just don't know how lucky I am." He smiles even wider, and he is seriously entertaining her,
"Why don't you test your luck?" She advised him as she reaches for her glass of wine,
"You're right, maybe I'm lucky enough to steal a dance with you." He smirks as she spat the liquor back into the cup, now she knew where he was coming from,
"Oh Ash!!" She erupts in melodious laughter, "is that what you're trying to do? Have a dance with me? Please!" She pushes it aside,
"Guess I'm not lucky enough," he shrugs nonchalantly and she couldn't help but laugh at his carefree attitude,
"And why are you flirting with my daughter you lazy dog?" Xerxes' hand lands on his skull and he winces in pain,
"I was not flirting, I was just asking her to dance with me, don't break my head master!" He scowls, his hands were so painful and Xerxes enjoyed seeing him in pain, Octavia's sadistic nature had rubbed off on him.
"It's the same thing, if she says no then leave her alone." He pushes the boy aside to come closer to his girl,
"Don't think I would dance with you either! You hid so many things from me, both you and mother, I don't even want to see your face!" She disowns him and Asher laughs at the predicament of his Master, Xerxes shoots him a death glare which shuts him up, he still proceeds to his daughter,
"You have every right to be angry with me, and I'm sorry, we had no idea how you would receive it that's why we decided not to say anything about it. I'm really sorry I hurt your Arcadia, would you please forgive me? I will never hide another thing from you." He goes on his knees.
She scrambles to lift him up, "you're not just my father, you're also a king and my master, you should never bow your head to me." She pulls him into a tight embrace, "I can never be angry at you for too long." Her tears wet his neck and he sinks deeper into her empathy, he doesn't regret anything he did.
"Awwwwn."
Their eyes dart to Asher and he decided to admire everything else, trying to hide the laughter that fought to come out.
"Leave him, he's a fool." Xerxes throws insult at him and he holds his heart dramatically, pretending to be in pain, "may I have this dance?" He humbly requests and she decided to grant him,
"You shall." She holds his hand and blows raspberries at Asher as she walked with her father, her hand in his.
They're at the centre at the throne room and begin to dance to the tunes of the musicians, slowly, they both felt at peace. He spins her to bring her back into his embrace,
"I'm happy that I got you as a father," her eyes are warm with emotions as her tears began to spill, he wipes them for her,
"A Queen should never cry, she has too many people that value her tears." He shows her his pearls and it felt like the were in heaven. She hoped nothing went wrong, she was too happy and she had fought so hard to become Queen.
It is well into the night and most people had began to get drunk with wine, Asher was slightly tipsy but he couldn't get drunk since he was supposed to be alert enough to protect the Queen. She was having wine and talking the night away with her father, laughing and smiling.
He was so happy for her but he couldn't help but notice how beautiful she was tonight, he wished to take her into his arms, so he decided to try his luck once more.
He walked towards them, trying his best not to fall over himself, he had to impress her if she was going to say yes to him,
"My Queen," he does a quick bow before he wasn't able to pull himself back up,
"Asher, what brings you here?" She turns to him amused,
"May I have a dance with you?" The alcohol had given him a bit more courage and he asked her direct. Xerxes does his best to hide his snicker but it came out either way, Arcadia is rather impressed with how much courage he displayed tonight.
"Well........very well." She climbs down from her thone and he offers her his hand, she takes it after staring at it for a little while, "I hope you're not too drunk to dance?" She whispers to him and he nods, he was tipsy, not drunk.
He spins her and she lands in the middle of the floor, everyone gathers round then to watch the dance and Sheila is grinning through her nose, she would never forget this day and would always use it against the Queen.
He pulls her too close to him and this surprises her,
"Asher, are you alright?" She was smiling out of embarrassment, she was practically glued to his body as they danced. The lights in the room were dimming thanks to Sheila, she had began to put off some lights and it was getting hard to see the couple clearly, "what is she doing?" Arcadia was worried that it wasn't safe to have the lights dimmed.
But he took it to his advantage, he began to touch her in places her would never have if they were in public, he groans into her neck,
"Don't you like what I'm doing?" His voice is smoky due to the need to touch her, his hands slither around her form and a lusty moan escapes her lips,
"I do.....don't let father see you or you can consider yourself a Deadman." She moans in his ears as he began to kiss her delicate parts, dancing through the room, the soldiers were already hyping their comrade my whistling and throwing flowers at them.
Sheila started it actually.
"Will you come see me tonight?" He groans in her ears, he couldn't hold back anymore, "I need you in my arms tonight." He takes her lips in his,
"Yes...." It was muddled but he still got the message, the whistle got louder but most guests couldn't see them clearly so they had no idea what they were doing. Her hands trail Down his body and she could feel her heat get stronger, the desire to mate had overpowered her senses, and she was beginning to touch him in his sensitive parts. He spins her again and she could feel his crotch against hers, he was tempting her too much.
Although it worried her when his moans had become groans,
"Asher?" She holds him as he collapsed on her, "someone put on the lights!!!" She orders and when the lights come on, she sees her hands stained with his blood, her eyes widen in fear and when she turns she sees men advancing towards her.
She held his bigger frame the best she could, she could see the knife that was lounged into his back, he was bleeding at an alarming rate. The sight of so much blood made her freeze for a moment before she removes her fan from her hair and throws it at one of the approaching men, it goes through his neck and his head flies off, his body flopping on the floor, pronouncing him dead.
"Intruders!!!"
