Chapter 25
After hearing what Sativa had to say about the soon-to-be Queen of the north, Mace was more than determined to make sure he proves her wrong. He entered his palace at Dawn and he sights Czar first only because he was coming to him,
"It seems you're up early master, earlier than usual, you should be resting and not training," Czar shows his concern but the look on Mace's face caused him to change the course of direction of his statement, "did something happen?"
"What can you tell me about Arcadia? Have you been watching her like I asked you too?" He walks ahead and Czar trails him,
"Yes I have been watching her carefully, her coronation is in two days, my spies have said she has a lot of enemies, no one wants her to become the Queen since she's an illegitimate child." His report is said with half a smirk, "are you planning an attack on her again? Are you sure you're ready Master?"
"If I wait then she would begin to win the favour of everyone and it would be hard to take her down, at all costs she shouldn't become the Queen, if that does happen then it would be harder to bring her down." He relaxes when he sees his throne, his symbol of power, he takes a seat, "call all our officers and make sure Loki is present.
"Yes my Lord," Czar bows and turns to leave,
"Czar."
He turns back to do the bidding of his Master,
"What is it now Master?" a dangerous glint in his golden orbs,
"Your loyalty never seems to stop amazing me, thank you." He hit his soft spot and Czar smiles,
"I've dedicated my life to you so serving you is what I will do till I die." He bows once more to lead himself out of the throne room, he smirks to himself, "I can't serve you if you're dead now can I?" He turns back before letting out a low chuckle, evil and unsettling.
Everything was in full swing, the preparation for the Coronation was the talk of the land, everywhere was filled with the praises of princess Arcadia and a lot of people were beginning to like her more than ever. According to them they say she listens, something that her father never did, he only used.
Her clan women were more than proud of her, her and her mother. They knew that Octavia's sacrifice that was made almost two decades ago would never be in vain, now the members could walk around with their heads held high.
"Arcadia, we need to discuss affairs." Xerxes slams the pillow on her head multiple times in a desperate attempt to get her to wake up from her slumber,
"Father please, it's so early in the morning, can't we talk about politics later? I need to sleep!!" She used another pillow to shield herself from his attacks, "it's not like the whole Kingdom would blow up if I didn't." She grumbles to herself,
"Arcadia, being the Queen is not an easy thing, a lot of people are looking up to you now." He throws the pillow at her once more but she didn't budge an inch, in fact, she was already snoring again.
"Master, I'm ready for training," Asher walks into her room unannounced, "apologies but is everything fine with the Queen?" Xerxes was perplexed, he rubs the annoyance off his face,
"I would be grateful if you could wake her up for me, when her mother did this I literally ran mad." He couldn't pull out all of his precious hair because of his child, he still needed to look good as he aged.
"That would be easy." He chuckles lightly and sits on her bed, he bends to whisper words into her ears, words Xerxes couldn't hear, she begins to shift until she lets out an unruly giggle, but it had a musical touch to it,
"What are you doing in my room?" She was fully awake as she turned to stare into his moon orbs,
"Master needed help waking your sleepy head, I came to offer assistance as his student." He flashes his dentition at her and it makes her laugh even more,
"Very well, I'm awake now." She pulls the sheets off of her body and his eyes widen slightly, her nightwear was very edgy and he took his time to appreciate all of her curves, a see-through red nightdress that hugged her rather tightly, he could even see her nipples poking out and he gulps before turning his gaze away.
"So would you mind to tell me the magical words you used?" Xerxes was beyond pissed and it was funny to the youths, they laugh at his predicament,
"It's my secret recipe, it won't be a secret if I tell you, and you should have something to use against her since you've known her the longest." Asher chides with a nonchalant attitude,
"Looks like someone is taking my daughter away from me." He smirks with an eye roll,
"What?! No way! We're just friends! Asher keeps me company and saves me from the madness of ruling a kingdom, what would I be without him?" She elbows his side playfully but this makes Xerxes grin wider,
"I still remember when your mother said the same thing, I guess it means you're on the right track, following your mother's footsteps and all." He moves to the door and the youth look at each other before turning to his back, "Asher meet me when the sun rises, Arcadia I would be waiting for you in the throne room."
"Yes master." They chorus before turning to each other, he smirks to himself as he walked out the door,
"Thank you for waking me up." She appreciated his efforts, "being Queen is harder than I thought it would be." He rubs her arms sheepishly,
"It's never easy, and becoming the Queen's best man is another task, your father is not taking it easy on me." He laughs to himself,
"Thank you for trying to protect me, I can't be more grateful to me, you have saved my life more times than I can count." She mindlessly took his hand in hers,
"Well it's my duty as your future best man, my duty to the soon-to-be Queen," he laughs a little, "do keep an eye on Beta Azeah, he has been sneakier than ever these days, I suggest you use Sheila to keep a tag on him?"
"I would do that Asher, thank you so much." She pulls his collar to make him bend to her height, placing a soft kiss on his lips, his eyes widen for a little while before he returned it with full passion, they break it and stare into each other's orbs.
"My Queen?"
