"I have a lighter." Alpha Nathan answered me as he started pulling the lighter from his pants pocket. I wondered why he had one, did he smoke? Wow, appearances could really fool people because he didn't look like someone that smoked.
"Wait, what if we draw more witches or danger if we make a fire?" Luna Kasey asked, looking concerned.
Alpha Clause shook his head as he answered her, "We have already wounded the witches badly and scared them away, so I don't think that they will be coming back anytime soon. And as Fay has pointed out earlier, there are no animals in this forest."
"That's right, besides, we need the light to see and to warm us for the night." Alpha Mason added as he nodded.
"Alright then, I guess this is for the best." Luna Kasey muttered as she let out a sigh.
"Yes, it is, babe." Alpha Nathan replied to her as he took her hand in his and gave her a comforting squeeze.
Alpha Clause glanced at me as he took his arm from around me and stood up from the fallen tree branch, "I'm going to check up on Sloan."
"Yes, the four of us should all go." Alpha Mason suggested as he looked around at the other Alphas since they were his closest friends.
"Sure." Alpha Wyatt replied to him as Alpha Nathan nodded, "Of course."
Alpha Clause nodded in response as they all started towards Alpha Sloan who was still kneeling on the ground, clutching onto Luna Hailey's corpse. Kaden and Carter stayed quiet as they sat down on a fallen tree branch opposite the one that I was sitting on. Luna Kasey's words pulled my attention away from them and to her as she said, "Luna Ashley, I'm so sorry about Luna Hailey, I know that you two were close."
She looked genuinely concerned about her even though they weren't close, and Luna Ashley was manipulative. Luna Ashley turned to her with a forced smile on her face as she replied to her, "Thank you for your concern, Luna Kasey, but we all know that I merely tolerated Luna Hailey. She was so annoying and super possessive of her Alpha mate, her being dead might just be the best thing for her and us."
I gasped in shock that she would say that about her close friend. If it were her enemy, I would have understood, but this was someone that she acted like she liked her a lot when she was alive. What a traitor. I wasn't the only one that looked shocked because Luna Kat and Luna Kasey also looked shocked.
Luna Kat shook her head as she muttered, "You're such a bitch, Luna Ashley. Even though I wasn't on good terms with Luna Hailey, I wouldn't say that her being dead would be the best thing for us."
"Yeah, that's just downright cruel." I commented as I looked at her in disgust and disbelief.
Luna Ashley glared at both Luna Kat and I as she crossed her arms over her chest defiantly, "Don't act like you were best friends with her or that you even liked her. I only said what I thought of her, besides, you shouldn't be defending her when she's been giving you crap just because she's jealous of your previous relationship with Alpha Sloan."
"You're no different, Luna Ashley! You're just as jealous and that's why you went and cheated on your Alpha mate when you suspected that he was sleeping with a pack member without confirming it!" Luna Kat exclaimed in anger as she glared at her, placing her hands on her hips.
I felt shocked as I realized that she had just spilt Luna Ashley's secret, and why her and Alpha Wyatt seemed distant. Luna Kasey also looked shocked, meaning that she didn't know either until then. Luna Ashley gasped in shock and horror as she gritted her teeth in her, "You! How did you know?! Who told you?!"
Luna Kat gave her a sarcastic smile as she answered her, "Of course, I will know since Alpha Wyatt is closest with my Alpha mate and he told him about how you cheated on him with his Beta which made him kill the Beta out of anger. Since then, nothing has ever been the same between you two and he doesn't even want to touch you."
Luna Ashley looked embrassed and angry at the same time as her face reddened and her frown deepened, "That was supposed to be a secret between the two of us! Besides, it's not my fault that he kept spending time with his female Gamma that I thought that he might have been having an affair with her!"
Luna Kat smiled as if enjoying her frustration, "It doesn't matter, you did a shameful thing and even caused your Alpha mate to kill his Beta. You've destroyed your relationships and you've tried so hard to hide this secret of yours while exposing other people's secrets and weakness. I'll see how you're going to react from now on since we all know your secret now."
Luna Ashley growled in frustration before she turned around and stomped away. We all stared after her as she walked into the forest in her anger. I glanced at Luna Kat as I commy, "Woah! There must be some serious beef between you two for you to expose her like that."
She turned to me as she let out a sigh, "Yeah, there's a lot, but she started it even though I wanted to be friends with her and Luna Hailey at first. However, I'm glad that I'm not friends with them, especially Luna Ashley because she's a manipulative bitch."
"And I thought that I was the only one that noticed that about her." I said as I frowned in thought as I stared after the path she went.
Luna Kasey nodded as she gave me a small smile and replied, "We all know that she is that way, honey, but we're just tolerating her for the sake of our Alpha mates since Alpha Wyatt is their close friend."
