Alpha Clause turned to me as his lips tugged up into a smile, "Of course, baby and that makes me want you even more."
"Really?" I asked him with raised brows in question as my smile widened, feeling my heart warm with love for him. So this was how it felt when your mate loved you.
He nodded his head as he stared into my eyes, "Yeah, really."
He looked like he wanted to kiss me, but as if he realized that we had an audience and an important quest to get to, he turned away from me as he looked over at the Alphas that were now talking to their Luna mates. "So shall we get going?"
They all stopped talking and turned to him as they all nodded in reply while Alpha Nathan answered him, "Sure, which car are we taking?"
"Let's take my two Ford Jeeps since they have more space. Kaden and Carter will drive each of them." He answered him as he looked over at Kaden and Carter.
"Yes, Alpha!" Carter answered his order and Kaden quickly followed, "Yes, Alpha."
"Alright, let's go." Alpha Mason said as he turned around to walk to the mansion's parking lot.
We all followed while our pack members waved us off since we already said our goodbyes inside the house. As we reached the several flashy cars, Alpha Clause walked to the white Ford Jeep and I followed him. Carter followed us then Alpha Nathan, Luna Kasey, Luna Ashley and Alpha Wyatt. So that left Alpha Mason, Luna Kat, Alpha Sloan, Luna Hailey and Kaden going for the black Ford Jeep.
Since the Jeep was a new model, it had three back seats, two middle seats then the passenger seat and the driver's seat. So seven people could ride in it which meant that everyone fit in nicely. Luna Kasey was left in the passenger seat while Carter was in the driver's seat. Alpha Wyatt and Alpha Nathan were in the middle seats while Luna Ashley, Alpha Clause and I were in the back seat.
My Alpha mate was between us and I didn't like that even though I knew that she had her own Alpha mate, but I didn't trust her around my man. I was pulled out of my thoughts when I felt Alpha Clause wrap his arm around my waist, pulling me closer to him as he glanced at my face, a smile tugging at his lips. His deep voice sounded entrancing as always as he murmured, "What are you thinking about so deeply, my Fay?"
I shrugged my slender shoulders as I answered him with a smile on my lips, "Just some stuff, honey. So is it really true that no one has ever made it out of the Forbidden Forest?"
He nodded as he took my hand in his, caressing the back of my hand with his thumb, "Yeah, but no Lycan has ever tried to get it since they have never had any use of it until us."
"So you're saying that if Lycans like you go in, it would be easier for them to survive the forest?" I asked him as I tried to understand what he meant.
"Yeah, and even our mates have a higher chance of survival than ordinary werewolves. Some even believe the mirror to be a fairy tale since no one has ever gotten through to it."
"Then who placed the mirror in the lake and who created it?" I asked him, feeling curious, and I saw Luna Ashley also look intrigued as she listened in.
"Some say that it is unknown, but others that have lived long enough also say that it was one of the first Lycans and he was also a Seer and a witch. He used his three powers combined and created the mirror so that those that are not Seers would be able to see what they want to see too." He explained to me as he smiled as if remembering when the story was being told to him.
"But why did he make it so hard for people to reach the mirror then?"I asked, trying to understand the whole story.
Alpha Clause looked amused as he answered me, "It's because he wanted to see who was determined to get the Mirror of Wisdom, only the one that is able to pass through the dangers of the forest and the icy coldness of the Lake of Eversea would they be worthy to use the mirror."
My eyes widened in surprise and amazement as I exclaimed, "Woah! That's amazing and absolutely sounds like something straight out of a fairy tale, but I believe it."
He chuckled in his velvety and sexy deep voice, sending delightful shivers through my body before he replied, "I believe it too even though it does sound like a fairy tale since we also seem like a fairy tale to the human world."
"True, but I have to say that the creator of the Mirror of Wisdom is kind of cruel for placing it after the Forbidden Forest and inside the lake of Eversea since many die before they reach there." I commented as I shook my head in pity for those that lost their lives there.
"Some do see him as cruel while others see him as wise. However, he did leave a warning in front of the forest that whoever goes through it that doesn't have enough strength of spirit of their wolves will perish in the forest."
Luna Ashley scoffed, pulling our attention to her as she said in an irritated voice, "Still, the guy is a douchebag. He shouldn't have even created the mirror in the first place since he has to make people go through these dangerous places before getting it."
"That's what you might think, but if he had made it so easy then people would have either fought over the mirror or lost it by now. So it's a plus for us since we can get it now to find Alpha Ross." Alpha Clause replied to her in a sensible way as a small frown fell on his brows.
