Alpha Clause looked at me and I gave him a reassuring smile, knowing that no man or hewolf could make me leave him. Beta Connor nodded, looking relieved at our words and smiled, "I'm glad that you both understand, I'll be going now."
"Wait, I need to pack my things." Brittany muttered as she smiled at him which was something we barely see. Before she could leave the scene, Rachel walked into the living room dragging a large, pink suit case.
"No need, I already did when I saw Beta Connor packing. I knew that you two have to be mates with how Beta Connor has been looking at you since last year's Mating Ceremony." Rachel said with a smile as she handed Brittany's suitcase to her.
Brittany frowned as she took her suitcase from her and replied in a snarky voice, "I really hate it when people touch my stuff!"
"Brittany, calm down. Rachel did a good thing by helping you pack, now, we can go without wasting any more time." Beta Connor explained to her as he placed a hand on her arm.
She looked at him and her frown softened before she nodded and turned back to Rachel, "Fine, thanks, Rachel."
Alpha Clause, Rachel and I looked shocked, and Rachel muttered, "Wow! Who knew that having a mate would finally make you change?"
Brittany gave her a look with her eyes narrowed, but didn't say anything. Beta Connor glanced back at Alpha Clause and I as he said, "Well, we will be on our way now, darling."
"Good luck and stay safe." My Alpha replied to him with a small smile.
"Bye, stay safe." I added as I also smiled at them.
"Take care of yourselves, you two." Rachel also added as she patted Beta Connor's shoulder.
"We will, take good care of the pack." Beta Connor replied as he smiled at us while Brittany just continued frowning.
He turned around and wrapped his free arm around her shoulders, steering her towards the door. As soon as the door closed, Rachel shook her head as she muttered, "I never thought that this would ever happen, but I guess it's meant to be. Who's going to be the new Beta now?"
She looked at Alpha Clause with her brows raised in question and I looked at him too, feeling curious. He glanced at her as he asked, "Who do you think will best be suitable as Beta?"
"Well, I've never thought about it before, but Bailey seems like a good fit." She suggested and I felt shocked that she suggested a woman because packs usually have male Betas, but it sounded like a good idea. Bailey was my friend and she seemed really nice and level headed.
Alpha Clause looked a bit surprised too and his dark eyes drifted to me before looking back at Rachel as he nodded, "Alright, I believe that she would make a great fit too."
"Really? Even though she's a shewolf?" I asked in shock as I stared at him with widened eyes.
He turned to me with an amused look on his face as he nodded, "Yes, it doesn't matter as long as she's a good fit for the role."
"That's wonderful, even though she has been my friend for a few days, I believe that she would make a great fit too." I replied to him as I got over my shock and a smile touched my lips.
"I knew that you would agree too." He murmured as he stepped closer to me and wrapped his arm around my waist.
"Now, let's retire to our room and we can announce the new Beta tomorrow morning." He murmured as his alluring dark eyes captured my brown ones, making my heart beat faster.
His lips tugged up into a smile at seeing my reaction and I nodded as I breathed out, "Okay."
"Good night, Alpha and Luna. Make sure to make us an Alpha heir soon." Rachel said in a teasing voice, pulling our attention to her.
Alpha Clause chuckled in his husky and sexy deep voice while I felt my cheeks flush in a blush. His lips tugged up into a large smile as he replied to her, "We will make sure, Rachel. Good night."
"Good night." I muttered, shyly just as he started steering me towards the stairs with his hand on around my waist.
He kept pressing hot kisses down my neck as we made our way up the stairs while I couldn't help, but moan and smile at getting a mate like him.
The next morning, Alpha Clause and I made our way down the hallway to the dining room. He has told me that he wanted to announce the new Beta over breakfast and I supported the idea since everyone will be present. After that, he would contact the East's news and have them announce it to all werewolves through newspaper and social media platforms that were reserved to us werewolves only.
We hardly interacted with the human world because we didn't want them to find out that we were werewolves which would complicate things. That was why we built out own world with our own leaders. Sometimes, I even forgot that there were such things as humans.
Everyone stood up as soon as we entered the dining room and greeted, "Morning, Alpha and Luna."
"Morning, everyone." Aloha Clause answered them in a firm voice with a nod of his head as he made his way to the head of the table with me walking beside him.
"Morning, hope you all slept well?" I asked as I smiled at them.
"Yes, Luna!" Most of the pack chorused as they grinned at us.
Alpha Clause pulled my seat out for me to sit as his lips tugged up into a smile, "Here."
"Thanks." I replied to him as my smile turned grateful.
I sat down on the seat as he nodded at me and pulled his chair out too then sat down on it beside me. He looked over at everyone at the table including Bailey and Rachel that were sitting beside me as he said, "As you must have heard, Beta Connor left last night with Brittany who turned out to be his mate."
