"P-Philp? What are you doing here?"
He didn't say a word. He just walked towards me and hugged me right away.
"I know what happened and why you are here. I got you. And I will do everything to get you out of this shit!" he said with conviction.
I burst out crying after what he said. I hugged him tightly. I felt a bit of relief from his tight embrace. Everyone left me, but he was here. Even though I badly hurt him, he was still here for me.
He led me to the table and let me sit on the chair, then sat beside me. He faced me and stared at me intently, especially at my lips. I saw how his jaw clenched, and his eyes were visible with anger.
"What happened to the side of your lips? Why do you have a wound?" he asked seriously.
I played with my hands, pressing them tightly to stop my nervousness.
"N-Nicholai slapped me. H-he ..." I closed my eyes and took a deep breath as I remembered what Nicholai had done to me.
"Fuck!" I almost jumped in shock that made me open my eyes right away. I saw Philip punch the table in front of us. It was the first time that I saw him that angry. "Tell me everything the bastard did to you."
I sighed and held his hands. I wanted to tell him everything without breaking down in front of him. Because I know everything that I would say to him would hurt him. Everything was too heavy for him. And to me too.
I told him everything from the very beginning where it all started.
He looked up and held my hand tightly. Anger can also be seen in his eyes when he looked back at me.
"That fucking bastard. He deserved what is happening to him right now. If he makes it alive, I will kill him with my own hands. Damn him!"
Suddenly tears dripped from my eyes. Anger was now gone from his eyes. Pain. It was now visible in his eyes.
"I'm sorry. If I didn't give up right away and fight for you instead, then this would never happen to you now. If I am just strong and more reliable, maybe this won't happen to you. I should have known that you are just forced to be with him. I should be the one protecting you. Not the other way around. " He knelt in front of me while crying.
"N-No ... It wasn't your fault." I shook my head while sobbing. "Me. It's all my fault. I became too confident because I thought he was my friend. Because he was my childhood friend. Please don't blame yourself for something that you didn't do because it was me all along. I'm the main reason why I end up with these problems right now.” I wiped his tears and cupped his face. "It's not your fault. It will never be." We hugged each other again and tried to calm ourselves.
"You will get out of here. I promise," he said, and I just nodded in response.

Phillip requested me to be examined when he saw the cut on my lips and the bruises on my arm. What Nicholai did to be made a mark without me even realizing it. He would use the medical records as evidence because they would file it as self-defense on my part. I remember the pictures I took that I deleted because I passed them onto Cheni. I couldn't use that anymore. I bet Cheni already deleted all of those pictures too.
I was indignant at the treachery she had done to me. I would make her pay when I got out of this jail. Even my family and Nicholai’s family were being manipulated and brainwashed by her. She was such a bitch!
Phillip came back looking so worried. I heard him sighed heavily, then smiled when he saw me looking at him.
"You will be escorted to the hospital to be examined. I can't go with you. I will be meeting Atty. Kraius Montreal right now to talk about your upcoming trial. He will help me with your case. He's good," he said, assuring me.
"I trust you. You are the only one I have, Phillip," I said gently.
He moved closer, and I closed my eyes when I felt his lips on my forehead. "I will always be here for you," he said before he left.

The cops escorted me as we went to the hospital, where I would be examined. The ride didn't take that long. When we arrived, they examined me right away. They made me take an X-ray and CT scan. They even tested my blood for possible alcohol and drug intoxication.
After I was done with every test, we left the premises and went back to the police station. The result would be sent to the forensic and to my attorney.
If I had those pictures that I sent to Cheni, it would be a big help. Those bruises were more brutal, especially the one on my tummy. But those bruises were already gone and not visible anymore on my body. So the test a while ago couldn’t see those old bruises anymore.
I was mentally depressed. Damn Cheni! Damn her!
I thought they would send me back to my cell, but they didn't. They took me where prisoners like me receive visitors.
I frowned again. Did Phillip come back right away? I smiled mentally and smiled as I went inside. The smile on my lips immediately faded when I saw who was waiting for me. I was being clouded with rage right away. I did not hesitate and rushed to her. I hit her with my hands even if I was being cuffed. It hit her in the face, and she screamed in pain. I grabbed her hair and pulled it hard.
"How dare you come here! You liar! What did I do to you to put me in jail? You're my best friend, but you stabbed me in the back! What kind of friend are you?!" I shouted at her with rage.
The cops pulled me away from Cheni. She glared at me and tried to fix her hair.
"You see? She's a psycho. She even tried to kill her husband. Now, she was trying to kill me," she told the police.
"Liar!" I shouted back and was about to kick her again but I couldn't because two policemen were holding me.
"Remember this, Denima. You will rot in this jail. I will do everything just for you to be out of Nicholai's life!" she said in gritted teeth and then left, banging the door hard.
