My eyes widened when I saw the gun Cheni was holding. I took a step back up the stairs.
"Stay right there, Cris. One wrong move, and I will pull the trigger and shoot you straight in the head," she said at once, pointing the gun at me.
My heart was pounding with anger. Damn her!
"What is wrong with you? What have I done to you? Why are you doing this to me ?!" I shouted angrily at her.
"What did you do?" she asked with sarcasm and then laughed like a maniac. "You just stole Nicholai from me!"
I couldn’t believe what she said.
"Are you crazy? I didn't steal him from you!" I shouted angrily at her.
"Shut up!" She angrily shouted back. "You stole him! You’re such a whore! You already have Philip, but then you let Nicholai impregnate you!" She took a few steps up the stairs while clutching the gun that was still pointed at me.
"He drugged me! You know that!" I clenched my fist. Fuck! Where the hell was Philip? I was suddenly nervous that something might have happened to him outside as well. Damn, Cheni!
"I don't believe you! You were really a flirt before. That is why I hate you."
My eyes widened at what she said. I couldn’t believe the words that were coming out of her mouth again.
"What did you just say? How dare you say that! I consider you my best friend. You are my best friend!" with resentment, I said.
So, at first, she didn't really consider me her best friend? All this time, she hated me. She just played and used me all along. She was evil!
"Stop the drama. I really don't care about our friendship. I only befriended you because of Nicholai. You're such an idiot and easy to be fooled," she said with a laugh.
"You are so evil! How could you?!"
"Right. And I don't fucking care! Why don't you just die? You had an accident; why didn’t you just die right after that? Tsk! It’s fine. At least your baby was dead. My plan still paid off well," she smiled like a demon.
My ears tingle with anger at what she said.
"You bitch! You killed my baby!" I shouted and charged at her, but I only managed to take a few steps when I dropped down the stairs.
"Ahhh!" I screamed from the pain. I looked at my leg and saw that it was bleeding. Cheni shot me.
"I told you not to move, didn't I? It's your fault," she growled.
"Fuck you!" I shouted angrily at her.
"Do you want to know what else I did to destroy you and Nicholai?" She laughed like a demon.
I looked at her angrily while holding my leg that was bleeding. Fuck! It hurts. Now I was more nervous. What if Cheni will really kill me? Damn it! I didn’t want to die yet, especially in the hands of this crazy Cheni.
"I was the one who put the annulment paper in your room. I am also the one who took a picture of you and that guy Lee inside the Dreame Café and sent it to Nicholai. And the stupid Nicholai believed my insinuations. "Who wouldn't believe what I said? I got proof to solidify it," she admitted with a smile. "I did a lot just to destroy your relationship with Nicholai, and I succeeded. But even if I succeeded, he still couldn't turn his attention to me. What do you have that I don't have?!" she added angrily. "Maybe if I kill you, he will eventually come to me." She smiled again like a demon.
I clenched my teeth after hearing everything that she confessed. So it was her all along. She turned out to be the mastermind of everything. I couldn't blame Nicholai. We were both manipulated by Cheni. She was a manipulative bitch! I didn't even doubt her in the slightest. I trusted her with everything. I had been keeping a snake for the whole time.
I would never forgive her, especially when I found out that she was the mastermind of my accident. My poor baby. She killed my angel.
My eyes widened when suddenly my phone rang in my pocket. I forgot that Philip gave it to me while we were at the drive-thru earlier. I looked at Cheni, and she was looking at me darkly.
"Give me your phone!" She suddenly snapped, which made my eyes widened.
With trembling hands, I slowly fetched my phone in my pocket. I saw that it was Philip who was calling.
"Don't you dare do something stupid or — You bitch!" she charged at me when she saw I pressed the accept button and loudspeaker.
"Philip, help me!" I shouted and threw my phone upstairs.
"You're dead!" Cheni shouted, once pulling my hair and pointing a gun at my head.
"Let me go! You bitch!" I shouted at her. I tried to fight back, but I was weak from the pain of a gunshot wound on my leg. I think I was going to faint because of blood loss.
"You are not really afraid to die, huh? Let me kill you—-"
Cheni and I were both stopped when the door suddenly opened loudly.
"Cris!" Philip shouted
"Philip!" I shouted. I saw his jaw clenched when he saw Cheni and me.
"Put the gun down, Cheni! Damn it!" he angrily yelled.
"Don't dare to come near me if you don't want me to shoot this gun at her head!" she threatened him.
"Stop this, Cheni. The police will be here any minute. This is not you! You are Denima's best friend—"
"Shut up!" Cheni screamed angrily, then pulled the trigger and fired the gun in Philip's direction.
I gasped when suddenly someone pushed Philip and caught the bullet. Philip landed on the side with a shocked expression. My eyes widened when I saw Nicholai lying on the floor, bleeding. It was like déjà vu.
"No!" Cheni became hysterical and ran down the stairs towards Nicholai. She was crying while hugging him.
Philip ran towards me and tried to help me. "Damn it! You're bleeding a lot. You're so pale," he said worriedly.
"Go to N-Nicholai. Help him," I said tearfully.
We heard loud sirens, and just a second, a lot of cops went inside the house.
"Ahhhh!" Cheni suddenly screamed and pointed the gun she was holding at us. "This is all your fault!" she cried angrily.
"Put down your gun, Miss Ibañez. We're already surrounding you," the policeman said while pointing the gun at Cheni.
"Please, Cheni. Stop this," I begged her before anyone else would be hurt.
"No! You are to blame for everything!" she shouted once more and then fired another gunshot.
I was surprised when Philip suddenly hugged me. He caught the bullet that should have been for me.
"P-Philip? N-no!" He smiled at me and caressed my cheek. My tears started to fall. With blurred eyes, I heard another gunshot.
More shots followed by another. The cops shot Cheni after she fired her gun at me. And the last thing that I saw before I lost consciousness was Cheni's body lying on the floor full of blood.
