CHAPTER 53
CHRISTIAN
“Do you trust me?” He asked her, but yet she said nothing.
The silence at the other end of the cell, was deafening and Christian removed his phone from his ear, to check if she had ended the call, but she was still on the line.
“Hello love.” He said again.
“Christian, can you go straight to the point please? I asked you a question, or should I repeat myself?” She asked him and he just laughed.
She was so demanding, controlling and fiesty whenever she was angry, and now he could tell that she was angry.
It was evident in her tone.
“Calm down Sara, I heard your question quite alright.” “So?”
“Well, yeah, I did come to the shelter, and I’m sorry for not telling you earlier.”
“Okay, what did you come to do?” She asked him impatiently.
“I came, I came here to begin the process of your leave from your orphanage.” He said albeit slowly.
The silence from before came back, the defeaning silence from earlier settled in and then she finally said, “Without letting me know.”
Her voice was so little, as if she was talking in whispers and he had to increase his phone volume so he could get the conversation.
“I’m sorry Sara. I wanted it to be a surprise.”
“Here we go again…” She said pausing before continuing, “What surprise huh? You’re processing my leave without telling me? Without letting me know and tell you if you can go ahead? C’mon Christian, what did you just do?”
“I thought we’ve gone over this before. You know I’ll soon be leaving and I don’t want to waste any more time. I have to process your leave, so we can both go together. Start a new life together.”
“Can you hear yourself. Oh Christian, everything is just about you. You’re not even thinking of me, you’re just looking at what you stand to benefit from me leaving with you.”
“Don’t say that Sara, I’m thinking of you too.” He said with a sigh.
He didn’t know why she was just being adamant on leaving with him.
Was she scared that he was going to break up with her, when he meant forever with her?
Was that why she always sounded distant and cold in this matter?”
He was about to assure her with words, because that’s the only thing she could use now when she said again, “I mean, I need to think this through. I can’t just leave Ariel, my school and other of my important stuffs just to move to Seattle with you. How many months have we began dating, and you’re already thinking of me, a 16 year old coming to stay with you. Christian you need to think this thing straight. It’s just a selfish idea of yours and you know it. I’m trying to be logical here, what if…” “What if what?”
“What if we don’t end up together in the future. You know I have no one, and then I would have abandoned Ariel and my life here, how would I cope?”
He knew this was what she wanted to say.
“Stop having doubts Sara, stop having doubts. I want the best for you, and I want you to remove those thoughts about me leaving from your mind. I wish I was there to hold you in my arms, and have you look straight into my eyes and see the truth in them. I wish.”
“Oh Christian…” She sighed, sniffing.
She was getting emotional, even though he was not there with her, he could sense that she was about to cry, if she was not already crying.
“Don’t cry Sara. I know you’ve been through a lot, I know it’s hard to trust, but I’m here for you. I’ve always told you,I want to be the one for you. I’m not going to break your heart. I promise okay.” He said trying his utmost best to sound so assuring.
“Okay.”
“Are we good?” He asked and she murmured a yes.
“About Ariel, we’ll talk to her. Once I get settled in Seattle, and the job begins paying well and I start working well, we can process her leave to from the orphanage and she can come stay with us.”
“Are you sure it’s going to work, Christian?”
“I’m optimistic everything’s going work in our favor okay.”
“Okay, I still have to think about it you know. Come to terms with it. With everything. I need little time.”
“There’s no time, but you know I’ll do anything for you. So take your time okay.” Christian said.
She replied with a yes, and he asked her how her day had been.
Listening to her as she spoke about her day, talking to him freely, Christian knew one thing that even though his idea was selfish as she said, he was convinced that he was making the right decision.
The right decision for them.

DINAH’S POV
All she thought about was Christian.
All she could think about was Christian.
What was he doing at that moment?
Was he taking his shower? Was he also thinking of her too?
Like the myth that said, if you’re thinking of someone that that person was also thinking of you, was this true in her case.
She tossed and turned facing Miranda, who was currently snoring in her own side of the bed.
If it were another day, Dinah would have ignored her entirely, maybe plugged in her headphones to shut out the noise, but today she was having none of it.
She was thinking about the love of her life, Christian, having sweet thoughts about him and Miranda was busy distracting her with her incessant snores this peaceful and blissful night.
Standing up, removing her blanket and wearing her slippers, she grabbed a cup of cold water from her mini fridge, that Mikey had gotten her, and walking to Miranda’s side of the bed she poured all the water straight on her face.
Instantly Miranda woke up, all her t-shirt and the bed was soaked with water.
“What the hell!” She exclaimed and as soon as she spotted Dinah she said again, “What was that for?”
“You’re fucking disturbing me with your snores. I can’t sleep or think straight, because you’re fucking making noises. If you can’t shut up, you better pack your blanket and get the hell out of my room.” She shouted and without waiting for any response she walked back to her bed.
Of course Miranda couldn’t say anything.
The room was hers, her special chamber and private room complete with everything she needed in the orphanage.
She had a private bathroom, a fridge, a kitchen, a ceiling fan, an inbuilt air conditioner and so many other goodies, and because Tessa and Miranda were her friends she allowed them stay there with her sometimes.
Wrapping her blanket well, and turning the other side, so she wouldn’t face Miranda, her thoughts started drifting of to Christian again.
She didn’t care if Miranda was still in the room, or had gone to change her cold t-shirt.
All her mind was now on Christian.
Miranda could go to hell.
