CHAPTER 62
DINAH
Just because she would soon leave the shelter didn’t mean that, she would stop bullying those foolish kids.
Dinah hissed as the walked the corridors of the shelter, Tessa by her side.
She was chewing on her fingers, as she walked, and she felt like hitting in someone.
Maybe she should hit on one of the kids passing by, and giving her rubbish stares.
Now all eyes were on her, and that was because of the incident with the matron some days back.
She had lost her respect and status amongst the kids, and it was evident in the way they walked freely without even bothering to greet or bow as she walked.
Before whenever she walked, no one dared walk in her lane, as they gave her space, but now reverse was the case.
She could even swear that someone had brushed her shoulders while passing, and this was to just explain how close these people were when they walked past her.
Fuck! When did it become like this?
How did her power and authority just vanish into thin air, in the blink of an eye.
It had been when the matron had publicly humiliated her, and made her a scorn in the face of everybody, that’s when they had started to disrespect her, but it was going to end this instant.
“Hey you!” She barked our, pointing at two children walking, and holding some snacks in their hand.
They froze, just like everyone in the corridor, who were waiting to see what she was going to do.
She walked over to the children, who were already shivering and looked as if they wanted to pee in their pants.
If Dinah could guess, this little boy and girl were not up to 15 years, probably 10 or 11, but she didn’t care about their age.
All that she was after was to taunt them, and take their snacks and eat it in their presence.
“Hand that over this instant?” She commanded, stretching out her hands and wearing an evil smirk on her face.
“Are you deaf? Hand that over now!” Tessa barked, at the children who had fear written all over their face.
Shakily, and even with tears on their faces, they proceeded to hand over their snacks which was actually their lunch, and Dinah laughed wickedly as she grabbed the snacks.
She didn’t know why, but whenever she did something bad, whenever she bullied someone she felt elated and so refreshed.
It was as if some power just came on her, and following the minutes that went by Dinah and Tessa continued taunting kids in the hallway, and collecting their snacks and money.
The matrons that passed were actually the ones that enjoyed most of the proceedings, and she normally bribed them too, so they said nothing as they continued unleashing hell and showing of sneaky tantrums.
Dinah was dragging of a girl’s new bag from her shoulders, when immediately she spotted Miranda.
That fucker!
Immediately she dropped her hands down from her latest victim, and she turned to meet Tessa and inform her of Miranda coming.
As for the little girl, she scampered away running for her life, and praying and thanking God silently for the distraction.
“Who do we have here?” Dinah taunted, hands clasped in Tessa’s as they approached Miranda.
Dinah could see the fear written all over their former friend, and she smirked hard.
She ran her eyes from Miranda’s head down to her toes, and Dinah could see some changes.
Seems she was getting slim, loosing weight and was it eye bags she was seeing under her eyes?
Dinah chuckled loudly, and Tessa joined in to even when she had no idea why she was laughing.
Dinah wanted to call her out for laughing, but she just kept it cool as she needed to show Miranda that we and Tessa were still going strong.
“What do you want from me?” Miranda the fatty, opened her mouth to ask, finally saying something and Dinah rolled her eyes sarcastically.
“You even have the audacity to talk to me huh?” Dinah asked, and removed her hands from Tessa’s.
With a smug look still on her face, she walked round Miranda who was standing without saying anything, and Dinah started taunting her, with support from Tessa.
“I can see that you’ve started growing some wings in it?” Dinah asked, but Miranda said nothing irking her all the more.
“Won’t you talk!” Tessa shouted at her walking closer to her face, and sneering, the little action making Miranda flinch back in fear.
“No she won’t…” Dinah said with a sneer laughing as she shot her hands out and roughly grabbed Miranda’s hands.
It all happened swiftly, and soon she was and Tessa were dragging Miranda down to a safer hidden place planning to molest and beat her up.
Dinah was personally going to teach her a lesson.
They were still dragging her, not minding the fact that she was screaming at the top of her lungs, attracting stares while they passed when suddenly someone stopped them.
“What the hell is going on here?” Someone shouted at them from behind, and Dinah froze.
That voice…
She could recognize that voice anytime and anywhere.
It was the voice of Ariel, Sara’s friend, one of their enemies in the shelter.
Ariel was always the one, helping her friend out whenever Dinah had her in her grasp, and scoffing silently, Dinah thought about what would soon befall them in days to come.
Oh they had no idea!
At first Dinah was tempted to ignore her and carry on with what she was doing, but she was not one to back down from a fight.
“What do you see us doing? Why are you shouting?” Dinah asked, turning around and giving her a smirk.
“Are you willingly following them Miranda?” Ariel asked, ignoring Dinah’s question and Miranda replied saying, “No, no I’m not…”
“You have the audacity to say something?” Dinah yelled and was about to raise her hands and give Miranda a slap when Ariel stopped her mid motion.
Hands grabbing hers, as she looked in Dinah’s eyes and told her squarely, “You wouldn’t dare.”
“What!” Dinah exclaimed, but still Ariel’s grip was on her hands, holding her so tightly, for a moment, Dinah feared that her hands would snap and break off.
A small crowd was already gathering watching the seemingly brewing fight that was going on, and Dinah and Tessa stood like a fool helpless.
Ariel’s hands still on hers, Dinah watched as she shot out and grabbed Miranda’s free hand and as she did so she dropped Dinah’s hands.
“Whae… what do you think you’re doing h…” Dinah asked, stammering but Ariel didn’t let her finish.
The brave thing walked up to Dinah’s chest and told her firmly, “This would be the last time you touch any of my friend again.”
“You think Miranda is your friend?” Dinah head Tessa saying from behind, as they all stated in a circle round each other but Ariel gave her no response.
Dinah was staring the girl heads down, and she was doing the same.
Finally she gave up, “Miranda let’s go…” Ariel said and Miranda followed her like a rat while Dinah looked on.
She watched them scurry away and she cursed loudly, barking at the crowd that were still staring at her, “Will you all get out!”
They wasted no time as the crowd dispersed, and she turned to look at Tessa whose head was bowed down in shame.
“You stood by me and you could do no fucking thing huh? While that bitch made fun of me huh?” She shouted and Tessa started to say something, but Dinah didn’t wait to hear as she stomped of angrily, her shoes clacking as she went back to her room.
Her day had definitely been ruined!
