When The Clock Ticks (series 2) Chapter 91

Sister Susana glared at her and ordered "Get back to your duty". "Yes, mother," Margret said and went away. Sister Susana sighed softly. Why did mother get the flowers first? Wouldn't she think of Alice again? Would she remember that gift on her birthday? Whatever. Alice is dead to them. Even if she does, she'll only sob and that's all. She wouldn't be able to make the connection. "Why wouldn't there be a graveyard for my Mom? She's a princess, she cannot just be thrown away in the forest or river and let her remains rot away. There must be. We probably hadn't made a thorough search. She might just be buried in some shallow grave or casually thrown into the soil. But whatever, there must definitely be a burial place for her" Pamela disagreed. "She's indeed a princess but when she died, she wasn't recognised as such, otherwise the palace would have been notified. She died as a nonentity. All because she let her love for your father drown her to the point where she lost her life. She left this world so shamefully and buried without regard. I haven't found the strength with which to mourn the calamity that has plunged my life, Pamela. My daughter, my precious daughter just rotes and wastes away without a burial place. My old age is blunted with so much regret and pain. Betrayal and disappointment. And the greatest of them is letting Tarvan send my daughter away from the palace and cutting ties with her. I should have stood up for her. I should have fought Tarvan and chosen my daughter over him. I shouldn't have just wept and watched Alice leave that day with her growing baby bumps. I should have left with Alice and created a world for her and Linus. I should have supported her choice of love. But no, I loved my husband more than my daughter. She left and I watched her go. I never saw her again and I lost her forever. And that man, for whose sake I lost my daughter, looked into my face and told me I am a barren woman who couldn't give him an heir. He said all the seeds he gave me, I don't have the fertile belly to make those seeds grow. He humiliated and embarrassed me publicly and degraded me when his concubines became pregnant. Why couldn't I foresee this and choose my daughter instead. I am the reason why you couldn't grow or even know your mother. This pain I now feel cannot be washed off. I wish I could turn the hands of time. I would have been able to save Alice. I would have given up my life for her. I would have died so that she could live. It pains me to the deepest part of my heart that I let my daughter die. My life lost its vibrancy and flavour. The sweetness in my life went sour and my place in Tarvan's heart and life completely shattered at the coronation and his marriage to the concubines…" Clarion couldn't say anything again as her voice choked and she started sobbing aloud. Clarion sobbed. She had held on with everything Tarvan did to her. The loss of her daughter and the humiliation and abuse of her husband. But now, she let those emotions loose and she sobbed more. Pamela sobbed more, placing her head on her grandma's thighs. Clarion caressed her hair as her tears dropped on Pamela's shoulders. Pamela sobbed more because she'd been with her grandma for a few weeks now and didn't know the pains in her heart. She lost her daughter and after so many years, she still cannot stop blaming herself. Her pain was greater than hers. She only wishes she knew her mom and grew up under her tutelage. Besides, there's nothing else that plugs her heart as much as her grandma's. But they both miss her. Grandma misses her daughter and she misses her mom. They both are deprived of the most important person in their lives. Death separated them from Alice. Death was unfair to them both. So cruel to them. She hoped that once, her mom would move the Veil off and glanced at the world,at her sorrowful mother and her loving daughter. In the evening of that day, Ellis' phone chirped with a text message. He took his phone and glanced at it, it's from Maxwell. "Do you still call yourself my father?" The boy had texted. Ellis glanced at the text and swallowed hard. He's trying to strike a balance. But as soon as Louis recovers, he would tell him about the kids first before saying a word of anything to Leah. He hopes Louis would understand his predicament and accept his siblings. "If you think I am not, you can go ahead and do whatever you want" Ellis texted back. And placed his cell phone down. His response infuriated Maxwell. He glanced at Arabella and said "You see his response? I will do the worst and no one should blame me later" he seethed. "I just look forward to the day I will see my brother, standing before me. I will just throw myself in his arms and scream "I love you brother" Arabella said and smiled. Her brother is the most handsome man in Oak City. She would grab him and not let him go. She moved into his house and grew up with him. "Are you nuts? Are you stupid?" Maxwell bellowed. She's daydreaming of meeting Louis Hayden without listening to him. Does she think he would readily open his arms and accept her as his sister? He would detest her and treat her like a scum. She's just wasting her time. "No, I'm neither nuts nor stupid. But why are you so furious? Is Louis Hayden not your brother as well?" Arabella snapped at him. Miranda Alvan was discharged from the hospital and she returned home. She called the chauffeur to take her home. She isn't going to wait for Louis to come and take her home. When she got home, she went to have a very warm bath. Changed her dress and wore something free but attractive. She took her medication and waited for Louis to return. She went to check the bottle of medication. Louis had missed two days, the doctor said she should ensure he doesn't miss it for too many times. It might become ineffective on him again. And if that happens, she needs to inform him quickly so he could give her a stronger one. But then, the memory will be completely erased from his head forever. She would watch him and see if he's showing signs of recovery. She will damn the consequences and do the needful if he dares to show signs of resistance to the effect of the drugs. Miranda's phone rang and she saw the caller's ID. She shivered. Not again. He came to harass her in the hospital and now, he's calling her again. "Why are you calling me? You don't have the right to my child because I am a married woman. You should accept that reality and not bother me again…" she seethed and hung up. She threw the phone on the bed and went and turned the door knob. She wasn't expecting that someone would be at the door and she suddenly went pale and almost dropped down in fright.
