"No grandma. I don't want to go. Louis might be there. I don't want to cross paths with him and his evil mother. I just want to live my life simple and privately" Pamela rebuffed.
Clarion laughed out loud. She glared at Pamela and said "You've always had Louis Hayden with you. When I see those kids, I see him.
You should know that when you feel the baby kicking, you are feeling Louis' in there. Don't ever think he's far away from you, he'd always been near.
And I meant it when I said you will go. You will have to prove to them that you have become stronger than the last time they checked.
Let Louis and his parents see your baby bump. Let them see that you've moved on. You are not that gullible princess who cries every time.

That night, Lucas was done with dinner and it was getting close to midnight. He had shut the door and turned the lights off when he heard the doorbell ring.
He looked at the time, it's past 10 pm already. He wasn't expecting anyone. Besides, why wouldn't the person call his cell phone number?
Anyways, he descended and went to the door. The bell rang again just as he arrived at the door. He peeped and saw her, he smiled and went to hold the door.
Alice stepped in and he shut the door. "What a pleasant surprise, Alice," Lucas said, holding her to his side and wanting to walk her to the sitting room but Alice stood firm, not interested in taking another step just yet.
Lucas paused and glanced at her. He was dressed in pyjamas. He tried to pull her along but Alice wouldn't move, rather she held his hand and said "Can't you see or you choose not to notice me?"
Lucas furrowed his brow and glared at her, a faint grin appeared on his lips but he quickly waved it aside.
"What are you saying, Alice?" Lucas asked.
"This is what I meant, Lucas" she declared and threw herself in his arms. She tiptoed and got his lips. She tried to kiss him but Lucas turned his head aside.
Alice became embarrassed. She sighed and stared at Lucas. The latter stared back at her expressionlessly, not saying a word.
"Don't you have anything for me? Not even a bit that you can tethered to maturity? Anything else for me, at least something left from what you feel for Pamela?" Alice pleaded.
Her eyes were teary. She swallowed hard. Lucas has failed to notice her. He failed to see her advances and her open expression of love. He failed to see them all.
She knows he still prefers Pamela to any other woman in this life. She also knows he cannot be with her. He saw it, he knew how she felt about him, but he found it difficult to accept it, to show any slight interest in her.
She's more like a sister to Pamela. He can't keep getting involved with women that are close to her. It might hurt her. And he doesn't want to ever do anything that will make Pamela feel hurt.
"Why are you quiet? Don't I look attractive enough for you? Or I'm not the type of woman that you like? I am not so perfect like her and do not possess her type of beauty and attractiveness, right?

Lucas glared on calmly, not saying a word to her.
