Louis Hayden pushed the door open and walked in. He heard Romeo's last sentence and his father's excited words. He is no longer comfortable with himself after what his father said that morning.
"Who's having a grandchild?" Louis asked, walking closer and standing right in front of Romeo. It's been months since they last saw each other.
It has always been video and audio calls. Zoom meeting with emails. But they are getting to see each other again. He placed a hand on Romeo's shoulder.
"I am. I am going to be a grandfather again. I'm having another grandson from Pamela. She's a blessing to Hayden's family" Ellis announced.
Louis was speechless. Is he really involved with that woman? Was she right when she barged into the office and accused him of cheating?
Romeo saw the confused stares coming from Louis. He sighed and walked out, he hoped his return would be the dawn of a new era in his relationship with Pamela.
"I'm afraid the secret is out. They knew you paid me to do the work. I cannot afford to lose my source of livelihood because of a one time payment to scandalise someone. Please find someone else to do the job for you" a certain person yelled on the phone and hung up on Miranda.
"Damn it! Bastards!" Miranda Alvan yelled. What nonsense? How can they successfully delete the trending online news.
Her return to Oak city was sudden. Louis just made it a surprise and she's not fully prepared to return. She had thought they would have their baby in Turkey.
Suddenly, she needed to spread the news of her return as Louis Hayden's wife. How else can she create awareness to the likes of Pamela and Leah that she's back.
And she's heavy now, she can't go confrontation with anyone that dares to interfere in their marriage. That's why she paid a new agency and those journalists surrounded them at the airport.
The scandal was an aftermath decision. But what the heck would Romeo or whoever was behind the deletion of the news. Senseless tauts, poking their nose where it doesn't belong.
In her fury, Miranda Alvan descended the stairs. But because she was boiling with rage, her attention drifted and she missed a step…
Miranda Alvan tripped and rolled down the stairs in screams. When she landed on the base of the stairs, it's her big belly that hit hard against the floor and then she passed out.
Her screams made the servants run towards her and found her on the floor, bleeding.
"...dad, are you saying I was in love with that woman, Pamela? The video clip about my proposal, were they true?" Louis asked, confused, closing his eyes and wishing that he could remember a thing.
The smile on her face when she came to his hospital ward that day, the fury on her face when she accused him of cheating, were those things done and said because of the bonding he has with her?
"One day, you will remember everything. I just pray that she finds the heart to forgive you" Ellis declared.
While Louis was thinking about his father's words, his phone chirped and he glanced at the caller's ID, it's from the Mansion.
He answered the phone when he suddenly sprang up on his feet "Miranda is in danger?"
Louis' chauffeur drove at high speed towards the hospital. Thank goodness the servants are home. They had called for an ambulance and were taking his wife to the hospital when they called him.
When the chauffeur drove into the hospital parking lot, Louis dashed out and went to the reception. His baby's life was at stake there.
He saw the servants standing and fidgeting helplessly. He went to them hurriedly and asked "What happened?"
"We only heard ma'am scream and when we came downstairs, we saw her lying on the floor in the pool of her blood.." one of the servants explained.
Louis nodded and asked again "Where is she now?" He simply asked but for certain, she was likely to be in surgery as he came to join the servants in front of the theatre.
"She's in surgery," another servant answered. Louis glanced at his back and found seats. He sat down dejectedly and looked around, no one was interested in coming along with him.
He told his dad and the latter said he could go and see her. Romeo said he was busy and has work to do. What is happening?
He called his Mom " Mom, my wife is in surgery. I need you around. I'm afraid I will lose my baby…"
"Okay, stay safe," Leah said and hung up. "It would be better if you lose the baby. It would be better for us all" she mumbled to herself.
Why was he telling her about it? lf she goes there now, Miranda Alvan would say she had come to kill her baby like she had threatened.
Louis glanced at his phone. His Mom hung up on him? He just told her his wife was in an emergency and he might lose his child.
Oh gosh! Hadn't he made a grave mistake by being married to Miranda? Why is everyone not interested in hearing a thing about her?
Is there something he doesn't know?
