I wake with a lazy stretch. I don't know what Clara did to me to get me sleeping all night. Maybe I am the one adapting instead of her.
Clara looks peacefully asleep. I am debating on whether to wake her up with a wake up call or to let her continue sleeping.
One leg is hitched up to my lap and one hand around my chest. She snores softly against my arm with a small smile on her face. I wonder what she is dreaming about that is making her smile in her sleep. I hope it is me.
Maybe I should let her sleep some more. She had a late night last night. I remember how I told her everything about what happened years ago between his father and me.
Deep down, I can feel the peaceful sense of satisfaction knowing that she is still with me despite knowing that I killed her grandfather. I don't think she was even born by then. Fabian was still unmated so her brother was also not yet born.
Speaking of Clara's elder brother, today is his engagement party. I don't even know what time it is starting, but I am sure Clara has to be there as early as possible.
I creep my hand down her leg to her bare thigh. She hums in her sleep and the smile on her face increases in size.
"Wake up beautiful," I murmur into her ear and nibble on her earlobe. She doesn't open her eyes. So she wants me to continue. Okay, I know what will definitely wake her up.
I creep my hand under the shirt she is wearing and fondle her bare butt. She moans and still keeps her eyes closed. Her smile has now turned into a grin. She is enjoying this.
I squeeze her ass cheeks and go down to her hot sex. She immediately opens her eyes and lifts her ass so that I can have better access.
"I thought you would never open those eyes," I tell her and she chews on her lower lip.
"Good morning," I say while withdrawing my hand. She frowns at the loss of contact and pouts.
"Don't pout," I tell her while pecking her lips. In a swift move, she wraps her hands around my neck and pulls me closer, demanding for a proper kiss.
"I am not pouting," she says before smashing her lips on mine. This is the perfect good morning. She wraps her legs around my waist and pulls me closer to her using her heels to dig into my ass. I know she is trying to make sure that I don't escape from her but I think she has forgotten that I am stronger.
I pull back from the kiss and quickly disentangle her hands from my neck.
"Clara, you have to get up from the bed," I tell her and she shakes her head, no.
"I want you," she says. Oh, god! I fucking hell want you too, but I think it is best if you get up and get ready.
"I know, but you have to get up," I tell her.
"Don't you want me?" she asks in a small dying voice. What? Does she think that I am denying her?
"Fuck, yes I want you, Clara but I am willing to give you a proper fuck when your brother's ceremony is over," I tell her and her smile comes back.
"That's my good girl," I say and peck her lips one last time before carrying her out of bed and heading to the bathroom to clean up.
After freshening up, we head downstairs. Clara insists on making herself something to eat while I go check on the new boy. I leave her in the kitchen and go to look for the room where he was taken.
I met Orpheus on his way to check on him.
"How was last night? How is the boy?" I ask him to as we walk to the room.
"We didn't have any problems with him last night. I think he is a humble boy. He just regained his full consciousness and he is really cooperative," he says.
"That's a good thing then if he will be easy to handle. He might be able to adapt quickly if he cooperates with us," I am say.
We enter the room where the boy is lying on the bed. He looks better after cleaning up. I see they gave him some new clothes to put on.
I stand beside the bed and take a good look at him. He looks a bit scared but not totally terrified.
"Are you feeling any better now?" I ask him and he nods.
"That's good. Do you feel like taking to me about what happened to you last night?" I ask him. Maybe the information he will give us will give us a strong base to ask the council to start investing on the rogues.
He first looks between me and Orpheus.
"It is alright to be scared. I can understand the situation that you are in right now, but you have to trust me. You have to trust us so that we can help you. We are not the bad guys," I tell him. He first looks at the bedspread as if trying to think about it.
"If you are not yet ready to talk, then we can talk later. We are not going to force you to talk, but you should know that it will be better for you to open up to us. You can talk to anyone here. Whoever you are comfortable with. We are all willing to help you," I tell him and he nods.
"Okay, for now. I will just ask you three questions. Is that okay with you?" I ask him and he nods in response.
"What is your name?"I ask him.
"Logan Hister," he replies.
"How old are you?" I ask him.
"Twenty three," he answers.
"Where is your family?" I ask him.
"I am an orphan. My relatives are not in this country," he answers.
"Okay, that is all for now, Logan," I tell him. The fear he had on him when I had just entered the room has now dissolved. I think we are going to get a long pretty well.
"I am Damien and this is Orpheus. Don't hesitate to ask for us if you need us. If you feel tired of being in this room, you can get out and walk around the house. Just feel at home," I tell him.
"Okay," he responds. At least we have now elevated from nodding.
On our way from the room, Orpheus tells me the details of the boy's recovery. He is healing pretty quick. I think the Vampire in him has start to take action.
"Luther told me that Fabian invited you to a party at his house," Orpheus says.
"He did but I am not going to attend it," I reply.
"That's a good idea. I could kill him on the spot if I met him again," Orpheus says.
"Killing him would break Clara's heart so I have to be more careful than ever," I say.
"I can understand. Things have to change henceforth," he says and I nod.
When I get back into the kitchen, a sweet aroma welcomes my nostrils. Mmm, someone must be busy in there. I find Clara putting some food on her plate. A bright smile forms on her face when she finds me watching her.
"How did your check up?" she asks me while placing her plate on the table.
"It went well. The boy is recovering quickly," I reply while taking a seat in front of her.
"You must be a very good family to welcome and help him. I hope things go well for him," she says.
"I know. He is still so young. I haven't heard his story yet. He isn't ready to talk about it yet," I say.
"Maybe you should give him some more time to recover," she says.
"That's what I was thinking," I tell her and she continues eating on her food. After finishing her food, she will be going back to her home. If it wasn't for that party, I would have kept her here with me all day and she would spend another night here eventually, but I shouldn't be that selfish.
"What are you thinking about?" she asks me.
"Keeping your here and chaining you to my bed," I reply and she shrieks with giggle.
"You would love that, wouldn't you?" I ask her with hooded eyes and she nods slowly.
"I will put that into effective consideration," I tell her and grins.
"I believe you will," she responds.
