Just when shanaya left my apartment, I got a call from the hospital for an emergency. It took almost 6 hours and right now I am damn tired.
I don't understand what's going on with shruti.
She was always the sensible one amoung us.
What's wrong with her?
And the way she was talking to shanaya. I didn't know one bit of what she is talking but Ofcourse it would be hurting if anyone brings up the past which is horrible.
I don't know why I wasn't able to see her tears.
It was all my fault!
I should have never pulled her into this. She wouldn't have been crying and hurt if she wasn't involved in this.
I just banged my hand on the steering wheel in frustration.
I need to see her right now!
When I reached my floor the first thing I did was ring her apartment's doorbell.
I rang it for like 10 times but there was no response. I punched in the passcode furiously and opened the door.
Calling her name I started searching for her and then I heard songs from a balcony. I went towards the balcony and saw her there.
Gardening?
She was sitting there and doing her gardening stuff. She had put on a messy bun and her hands were all dirty because of the mud. The music was blaring real loud.
And here I was worried sick for her!
I went and switched off the music player.
She turned around abruptly and that is when I saw her face.
Swollen & red eyes. She had been crying for a long time.
Damn you shruti!
Why such a low blow?
"I was ringing your doorbell since forever." I said glaring at her.
"The music was loud. I didn't hear it." She said in a very distant tone which made me worry more.
Because the Shanaya I knew would have teased me about how I was missing her and stuff. But here she is just plain ignoring me.
"Can you just stop doing whatever you are doing? Talk to me for a while." I asked annoyed.
"No." She replied shortly.
God!
This stubborn girl!
"Shanaya." I called her and she looked at me and sighed
"Aarav, I need to be alone. I am not in the mood right now." She said and turned back to her gardening.
"I don't care. I want to talk to you right now!" I said being stubborn.
She got up and went towards the washroom, i guess.
I took the time to observe her mini garden. She had beautiful flowers the ones which which are very rare too. No doubt she takes care of them ver dearly.
"What is it?" She asked wiping her hands on a towel.
"Why don't you have roses over here? I mean, rose is the most common flower anyone would plant." I asked confused.
"I am allergic to them." She said and sat down on a nearby chair.
"Did you have your dinner?" I asked sitting beside her.
"The time is way past 11. I ofcourse had my dinner." She said or more precisely lied.
I narrowed my eyes at her.
"Are you sure about that? Because I do't think you did." I said.
"Okay fine. I didn't! I don't feel like eating." She said whining.
And I smiled.
Finally some emotion!
I kneeled before her and held her hand saying
"I know that everytime you keep on annoying me I tell you how irritating you are. But I think the annoying you is always better than the silent you." I smiled at her.
"I told you I want to be alone." She said releasing a sigh.
"And I told you I am not leaving you alone." I said and she looked at me the same moment we shared a very intense eye contact.
The one where I could see her inner battles.
"Aarav, I am not hungry. Don't behave like typical indian mom's now." She again whined.
I just laughed and said
"Fine! I'll leave but you are going to gather your shit by tonight because I want my smiling Shanaya back."
"Your smiling Shanaya?" She asked me raising her brows.
I just cleared my throat awkardly.
Exactly!
What's wrong with me?
"Umm hmm. I 'll take my leave now. Eat something. If you need anything just give me a call." I said caressing her cheek which still had her tears marks.
I got up and she held my hand.
"Thank you." She said when I turned around.
"For?" I asked confused.
She just shrugged in response and shaking my head I left from there.

I was calling Shanaya for the nth time now and this annoying kid won't answer my calls.
Frustrated, I went on my patient rounds.
My phone started ringing and I picked it up.
"You're not visiting the college today?" Mom asked.
" I have to attend a few patients over here. I'll come after that." I said while seeing the patient's vitals records.
"And yess I wanted to tell you that don't miss Shanaya soo much she is in a surgery." Mom said laughing.
"What?" I asked confused.
"I saw her phone ringing with your calls. She forgot it on my table while working on a report."
She said still laughing.
Ohh damn Shanaya!
"Mom!" I groaned.
"Okay. Okay! Bye. Come soon." She said hanging up.
I entered the college and was going to enter mom's cabin when my phone flashed with Shanaya's name.
I turned around and picked her call.
"What did you think? I was dying or something." She yelled from the other side and I chuckled
"Where are you?" I asked.
"Canteen." She said annoyed.
"Stop eating that sandwhich and drinking coffee this instant!" I ordered her.
"Are you stalking me?" She asked.
"Nope! I know you too well. So yess stop having that! I did send the tiffin for you with my driver." I said walking towards the canteen and hung up.
When I entered the canteen I saw her sitting with Ayan & Myra.
I took a seat beside her and asked
"Where's the tiffin?"
She looked at me wide eyed.
"Why are you sitting over here?" She asked looking here & there.
"Is that a problem?" I asked furrowing my brows.
"No. But I thought you have some authority so you won't sit with us on a canteen table like some student." She said and I rolled my eyes at her.
"Btw.. I had your tiffin in the morning itself because I was hungry and I had to go for the surgery." She said and I smiled.
"Why'd you leave early?" I asked her and someone cleared their throat.
I looked at Ayan and he said
"Do you remember you have your younger brother sitting over here?"
He wiped his fake tears and I again rolled my eyes.
"I know you wouldn't miss your lunch for the world. But this stubbon girl over here could do it and then fall unconscious on people casually." I said pointing at Shanaya.
"Excuse me! That was offensive." She said glaring at me.
"Ohh yes! It was supposed to be. You annoying kid. The next time you decide to not eat anything & then ignore me and leave early and then not pick up my calls, I am going to hunt you down and stuff your mouth with food until you die!" I said glaring at her.
"Whatever!" She said rolling her eyes.
