My shoulders slumped. I have nothing to say at this very moment. Ellwood was right, he's always right. I can't argue with him.
I turned my back on him and opened the cabinet where his spare clothes was.
"Here, change. I'll wait for you outside."
I didn't stay there for long and went upstairs to change in my own room. I'm expecting Hezekiah to be there.
He already wore his white T-shirt and maong shorts. He was only in his slippers and is currently drying his wet hair with towel.
He stopped what he was doing when he saw me. I walked straight to my walk-in-closet and looked for something to wear.
When I went outside, he was still there, but he's now leaning on the doorway.
"When are you planning to make your visitor leave?" He said while crossing his arms over his chest tightly.
I arched my brows at him, "Actually, I invited him for a dinner tonight. There's nothing wrong with that, right?"
I walked closer go him so he'll make way but he only put his hands on his pocket.
"How was that kiss? Is he a good kisser?" His voice was baritone and rolling.
My tongue got cut with the voice he was giving me.
"I don't wanna talk about it right now." I walked again to signal him that I want to go outside.
But he was still stubbornly leaning on the door. Eyes enthralled on me like a hardbound.
"W-Will you... please, excuse me!"
I heard him chuckle while shaking his head and lowering it. "So, this is what you do when you're together?" He lifted his eyes up and darted his gaze at me.
"You allowed him to kiss you? Which part of your body did he kissed? Did you make out? Which part of the house did you do it?! Did you fuck at the pool? or in the kitchen? Or maybe here at this bed?!"
I was too mad that I couldn't help myself. I slapped him hard on his face.
My whole body was trembling un anger while staring at him clenching his jaw at the impact.
"How dare you accuse me for something I did not do in the first place! Did you forgot? You're the first one to cheat! That kiss was nothing compared to what you did!" I shouted, catching my breath.
I am only a human, and not a Saint.
Yes, I admit, there's a part of me that wants to have my vengeance! But I know I won't get anything from that. I'll still end up looking defeated in the end if I force to get back on the pain he inflicted to me.
His eyes were almost pitch-black and I didn't dare to move. My knees wobbled as he stared at me intensely.
"I'll cook dinner. Just entertain your guest." He finally said to break the silence. He turned around and left the room.
I didn't notice my tears falling. Yes, I should be happy for what I did. Because finally, I made him feel the pain he gave to me. But why am I not happy? Why did I end up feeling so frustrated and have this hollow spot in my heart?!
Why does it feel like I was more hurt and looked like the bad one even after everything?!
I stayed inside the room for a few minutes to calm myself. I went downstairs and walked to the back part of the house. Ellwood was patiently sitting at the metal chair. He was talking to someone on his cellphone when I got to him.
"Okay, see you later..." He ended the call and looked up to me.
"What took you so long?" he glanced at his wristwatch before looking at me again.
"Hmm, nothing..." I timidly answered. I chose to sit at the chair in front of him and got a slice of pizza.
"I have to go, I need to catch up with my client tonight." He bit a few on the pizza and sipped his juice.
"Alright... see you then!"
He stood up and crouched down to kiss my cheek.
"I'll be back tomorrow morning and spend the whole day with you." he whispered, touching my ears with a soft kiss.
I didn't answer. I wanted to avoid him even for just a few days, but because I know he's flying to Australia, I agreed.
"I'll wait for you..." I murmured.
He moved away and caught my eyes. He furrowed his brows and strayed his eyes on me. It's like he wanted to read something in my face which I tried hard to hide. In the end, I gave up first and stood up to see him leave.
"Take care, Ell..." I mumbled and kissed his cheek.
"I'll visit tomorrow..." He said, glancing at the house before entering his car.
I went back inside and walked to the kitchen. I saw him facing the stove while typing something on his phone.
I cleared my throat to catch his attention. He turned to me and slid his phone in his pocket.
I breathed out. I know he's texting Alessandra but I tried not to think about it and acted normal in front of him.
"Ellwood already left." I uttered lowly.
He nodded and faced me. He rested his lower back against the table and crossed his arms in front of me.
I averted my eyes down to the vegetables that weren't finished chopping.
I cleared my throat again. "I-Uh, if you want, I'll do this instead?" I said with shaky voice.
He walked closer and placed his hands on the table. He looked down to the vegetables before bringing his gaze back to me.
"Cut those potatoes into two, I'll take care if the cabbage." he said in his baritone voice.
I moved my lips and sat down my chair. I faced the potatoes and started peeling them while he was still standing beside me.
I tried to avoid my heartbeat, but I was so nervous that I was shaking like a leaf. Damn it! Why can't I properly peel these potatoes?
"Be careful, you might get a cut." His voice trailed slowly that sent shivers down my spine.
I gulped and focused on peeling. And like what he said, I got a cut.
I stood up when I saw the blood on my finger. He immediately came to me and grabbed my hand. "Shit!" he cursed sharply.
I don't know where I should be nervous, at my wound or at how he gently held my hand.
He brought me to the sink and washed the bleeding finger with water. "You're not being careful with yourself." he whispered softly at my ear.
I gulped to remove the loud pounding of my heart, but I could not suppress the feeling inside me. He's too close and too hard to handle.
"I'm okay, now!" I pulled my hand from him and got a tissue towel to wipe my hand. My cut isn't that deep so I decided to sit again.
But he quickly got the knife from me and did it himself. I let him do it because of my wound.
Even if I wanted to leave, something seemed to be stopping me from doing so. I stayed in my seat and carefully watched him.
I can't help but to observe how sexy he was while chopping those potatoes. He's not wearing an apron that added to his appeal on me.
I noticed him looked up to me. I cleared my throat before speaking.
"Uh, what are you cooking?" I asked smoothly.
He arched his brows at me and the corner of his lips hitched a little.
"Filipino Pork Stew..." he said in a soft tone and I nodded.
He quickly finished preparing the ingredients. He turned his back on me and faced the stove to cook.
