I halted in front of the door. I took a deep breath and controled my nerve as I gripped the door handle. When I opened it, everyone almost looked at me at the same time.
My eyes darted to Hezekiah who's sitting comfortable at the center seat. On his right was Zuay beside Tawin.
"Meredith! What a surprise!" Zuay and Tawin stood up and kissed my cheek.
"Did the meeting started?" I said cooly.
"Not yet, we have a lot to talk about after this, huh?" Zuay whispered to me before they went back to their seats.
I walked and sat in front of Zuay while Hezekiah was kn on my right side.
I can feel his stares boring onto me although I wasn't looking at him. So I tried my best to smile at everyone and didn't spare him a glance.
"Where have you been, Meredith? It's been long since we last saw each other."
I turned to one of our partners with the Malls. She had branches on almost all of our malls.
"I just had to take care of some things, Mrs. Ferrel."
She nodded at me before glancing at Hezekiah meaningfully. "I'm happy to see you both here."
I only gave her a small smile after I glanced at Zuay and Tawin who were both smiling widely. I only widened my eyes at them before looking at a different direction.
After Mr. Houghans arrived, the meeting started. Because I wasn't really updated about the company, I only listened to their discussion.
Hezekiah was the center of attraction. After other groups from the marketing department presented, he stood up to present the sales and developments of the malls.
One thing that made me awe is that he could easily get the board's sympathy. He can easily manipulate people and attract them with his words and skillful manner.
I knew him like this. He's very confident and he knows what he is doing. Because he also possesses intelligence, my respect for him was high.
I laid my back against the chair while holding my fountain pen over the table. At this angle, I could clearly see how good he looks with his grey suit. His body is well fitted in his white long sleeve polo underneath his suit with handsome face, sharp jaw, chin and cheekbones. Those pearly teeth and mesmerizing eyes that never fails to win my heart.
I don't know how he even existed in this world or how he could make my heart shudder and let me travel in different places at the same time. Never thought that I gaped openly as I observe him more and more. ..
"Next month, we will start to build a new project in Manila. Actually, I personally visited the place last month to see how wide the lot was. As expected, it was very big and wide. Not only that, the place is a good spot because it's close to the university, market, and church. I'm expecting our sales to rocket up once we opened the mall in Manila."
"That was a great news, Mr. Grant!" Mrs. Ferrel said to him.
"And how about your other projects Mr. Grant? Are you still planning to pursue Sunrise Steel?" I glanced at Mr. Houghans.
I actually saw him just now, even some of the suited men at the end of the table.
"Yes, of course! I already talked to some people regarding that project. And my executive assistant, Rupert will supervise everything." He pointed at Rupert who was at the end of the table. He raised his hand and smiled before bringing his attention back to his laptop.
Sunrise Steel? I can't be mistaken. It was the project they discussed at Galla via Island. I glanced at the men at the end of the table. My lips parted when I recognized them. Mr. Han and Mr. Wallas was here, all the men from the meeting at Galla via Island were here.
My eyes went to Hezekiah who continued talking in front. I couldn't help but to ask myself how he did all of that while he was with Alessandra.
The meeting ended but I still haven't recovered. My thoughts almost exploded because of too much thinking and I don't know when all these questions will be answered.
"What are you doing here?"
My eyes snapped a bit when I heard his deep throaty voice.
I turned to look for the voice and that's when I realized that we're the only ones left in the room.
"Uh, I just visited at the mall and went here to check." I said quickly.
"If you want to go back to work, just tell me. My office is open for you."
My forehead creased. "I'm fine with my own office."
I heard a small laugh coming from him so my eyes raised to him. Damn! Why did I only realized now how handsome he looked at tjat suit. Those piercing eyes, brown seductive hair, stubble jaw and heart shaped lips. I couldn't help but to stay and admire how he looked gorgeously hot today.
I tilted my head and was about to stand up when he spoke again.
"Trina said you haven't eaten breakfast yet." He stood up and walked towards me. And my eyes instantly flew out to him.
"Let's go out for breakfast."
He lent his hand which made my heart shudder.
"I-I'm okay. I was about to eat breakfast with Zuay and Tawin." I stood up frantically which made our body clashed.
"Hey, careful..." he said lowly. He quickly held my back which made me freeze.
I can't help but to meet with his eyes because of the close distance. I could smell his scented perfume and his fresh breath that gives me an uncomfortable feeling all over my body.
"I'm... fine, really!" I withdrew from his hold and went out.
I walked briskly. I don't know where Zuay and Tawin's office are now. The only thing I know is my heart is still beating fast.
"Meredith, where are you going?" I turned to Tawin who was holding two cups of coffee.
"To Zuay's office?" I murmured.
"Her office is here, hello?!" She pointed the closed door.
"Oh, yeah!" I opened the door anf sat straight to the couch.
"Mrs. Grant! The President, what a surprise visit?!" Zuay said. Sje stood up from her swivel chair and sat at the couch in front of me. Tawin placed the coffee at the center table.
"Can you order me some mozzarella pizza, please?" I asked weakly. My stomach had been churning in hunger.
"Whatever!" Zuay rolled up her eyes and then talked to someone over the intercom.
"So, what brought you here? Are you spying on your husband?" she teased.
My brows raised. "Of course, not! The hell with that idea!" I said.
"If I know, you just don't want Hezekiah to disappear in your vision so now you're here." Tawin teased.
My forehead creased at them. How could they even say that? They almost cursed Hezekiah because he married someone else, but why are their anger melting into nothing now that he's here?
"Do I not know something that I need to know?" I arched my brows at them.
"Huh? We're confronting you here why are you asking as back?! " Zuay said while sipping on her coffee.
"I'm planning to get back to work. I need to fix some things at Dad's company."
"Is it about Ellwood?" Tawin asked with curiosity.
I'm not surprised that they knew about the fall of Rising Stone. Tawin is our reliable source when it comes to these kind of issues. So if I need to know something, she's the one I have to ask.
"I just really wanted to know the truth."
"Maybe it's because they're planning to wed you together? We all know Tita Minerva is so much in favor of Ellwood for you!" Zuay said.
