"I guess I'll have to say goodbye to my job cause now I'm about to lose it for good." Van muttered as she sat in the car that came to pick them up at the private airstrip.
"What was that?" Jake asked as soon as he joined her.
She sighed but Jake smiled and took her hand. "I heard you I was just messing with you. Besides you don't have to worry because I already got permission from your boss."
Van find that hard to believe.
"Don't believe me you can call him if you want." Jake said when she gave him a dubious look.
"Fine I believe you." Besides there was no reason for him to lie to her and her heart had been leaping out of happiness the moment he told her they were going on a trip.
As they drove through the city Van spied the bold sign which read 'welcome to Bohol' and her eyes rounded in surprise and her jaw dropped.
"Bohol?"
Jake gave her a sheepish smile. "Surprise! Happy three months anniversary."
Van's squeal after that made him jump from his seat and the chauffeur almost swerved off the road.
"I don't know about you but I want to get to our destination in one piece."
"Sorry! I am just so excited right now. This is the best anniversary gift ever thank you!" She threw her arms around him and hugged him, when she pulled back her face fell.
"What's wrong?"
"I don't have anything to give you." She had nothing that was worthy of him and all of a sudden she was feeling like she doesn't deserve him. "You're rich you can buy whatever you want, go wherever you want and I'm just…me."
"Hey it's okay I don't need anything." Jake reassured her. "Just having you by side is the most important thing ever. You are a one of a kind present and I wouldn't trade you for anything else in the world."
That did bring a smile to her face.
"Well you do know how to charm the pants off a girl." She remarked feeling all mushy inside.
"Ah you flatter me but there's one girl whose pants I'm dying to take off… when the time is right of course."
" Jake! " Van punched his arm harder than she intended but he didn't flinch.
" What would you have me say it's the truth!? " He was laughing his ass off.
" Not when we have an audience." She whispered. And Jake seemed like he was noticing the chauffeur for the first time. " My bad."
" So how did you know about this place? "
" Karl told me."
That sneaky little brat is already taking sides huh?
" I asked him what was the one thing you would love as a gift and he told me you've wanted to go to Bohol and have been saving for it since high school but then your father got sick and… "
Van kissed him cutting off his explanation.
" Thank you."
Van knew that even if she saved up for twenty years she could never afford a trip to Bohol and yet here she was in this beautiful place.
