Ever since their encounter with Lucille Stefan has not been himself. Aside from the obvious attraction between them, Rella could tell that something was wrong. Something's bothering Stefan and she didn't know how to ask him or what to do to make him feel better. All she could do was offer her heart and body to him hoping that she could show him how much she loved him and that she's here for him no matter what.
Stefan made a hearty breakfast for her in bed and he still hasn't said much.
"Are you okay?" She asked hoping to get a response.
"I'm fine no need to worry."
"Was it something Lucille said, something about Jenny? You can tell me. I won't judge you."
Stefan held her gaze it wasn't a sort of challenge or anything like that on the contrary he was staring at her like one would stare at a priceless jewel and it warmed her heart.
Stefan took her hand and kissed her ring finger. "There is absolutely nothing for you to worry about. The way I feel about you I've never felt anything like it for anyone else. You've made me a different man the moment you walked down the isle towards me. And I am honoured to have you in my life." He reached out and wiped the tears running down her cheeks with his thumb.
"God I am so lame. " She laughed uneasily.
" No you're not."
"Yes I am no one cries at that corny shit you just said."
Stefan laughed aloud, it was a rumbling sound that came from his chest filled with mirth. It was the first time Rella heard him laugh that loud.
" I'm glad I amuse you. "
Stefan kissed the corner of her mouth. " Eat your breakfast before it gets cold. " He said.
"Rella!" Van waved at her best friend frantically. Rella turned and was stunned for a second before she bolted from her seat and reached for Van pulling her in a tight embrace..
"Oh my God Van! How?..what are you doing here?"
"I had no idea I was coming to see you my friend."
When they pulled apart Rella noticed Jake for the first time and her gaze flickered between the two but before she could say anything Stefan appeared.
" I was surprised when I got your call." Stefan said giving his friend a half hug.
Rella and Van soon forgot about the guys, too excited to see each other again.
"So, what's going on with you?" Rella asked.
"Why do you think something is going on?"
"Well for the most part you look so happy, happier than I've ever seen you and you seem to glow." Van blushed and looked away but Rella caught on.
"I can tell you're hiding something from me." Rella narrowed her eyes suspiciously.
"I wasn't going to hide it from you," Van said defensively. "I was getting to that part."
"Tell me, I want to hear it." Rella was just as giddy as she was.
"Jake confessed to me and he asked me to be his girlfriend." Van blurted and bit her bottom lip.
Rella looked stunned. "Jake? But how? It didn’t just happen overnight did it?" Van shook her head. "And you didn't tell me anything I can't believe you Vanessa."
Van felt guilt, she knew everything there was to know about Rella’s marriage to Stefan Diamond but she'd hid the truth about Jake from Rella then she decided to tell her the whole truth.
When she was done, Van saw Rella’s eyes turn stormy all of a sudden. "I swear i'm going to kick that bastard where the sun don't shine how dare he do that to you!? "
"Rella lower your voice!" Van glanced at the guys who were only a short distance from them still chatting.
"I'm going to kill him." Rella promised.
Van smiled tearfully. "You know how much I love you? You're the sister I never had."
Rella squeezed her hand affectionately. "I love you Van. I wish you'd told me sooner."
"I know but you had your own problems and I didn't want to add mine to the pile."
"But you're my best friend."
"I know. It won't happen again."
"So is he treating you well?" Rella asked after a while.
"Yes. I guess, we just started dating."
"Well I'll let him know that if he hurts you ever he'll have to answer to me."
"Alright stop putting me on the spot it's your turn. So you're on your honeymoon how was it tell me, tell me!"
"Stefan told me he loved me. " Rella confessed. "And we sort of…"she bit her lips. "The marriage is real now."
Van gasped. " You did not…"
