The Strongest War God Chapter 2087

Chapter 2087: Tree Creatures Chapter 2087: Tree Creatures Editor: EndlessFantasy Translation Listening to the Baby’s story, Braydon Neal nodded slowly. “Understood.” Baby being chased by those two made sense. He had thought there was no danger outside, but due to the random teleportation at the entrance, those two individuals had appeared right beside him. “Oh, by the way, who is this Grandpa Tree you’re talking about?” “Grandpa Tree is Grandpa Tree,” Baby replied, a little confused by the question. “What’s Grandpa Tree’s temperament like?” Braydon asked gently. Baby immediately beamed with pride. “Grandpa Tree is the kindest and gentlest being in the world. Even if I break his branches, he won’t get angry.” Seeing how excited Baby became at the mention of Grandpa Tree, Braydon asked, “Then, can you take me to see Grandpa Tree? Don’t worry—I’m not looking to cause trouble. I just have some questions for him.” “Grandpa Tree must be incredibly wise,” Braydon added. Baby nodded eagerly. “Of course! Grandpa Tree has lived for nearly a thousand years. He knows everything.” But then, Baby’s face fell, showing hesitation. “No, Grandpa Tree told me not to interact with humans. Humans are greedy.” Braydon pointed at himself and, with a calm tone, began to persuade him. “First of all, do I look like a bad person to you?” Baby shook his head quickly. “You’re a good person! You saved me, benefactor.” “Exactly,” Braydon said. “Since I’m your benefactor, I’m not like those greedy humans Grandpa Tree warned you about. Right?” Baby seemed to consider this carefully, then nodded. “Alright, but you have to promise not to do anything bad. Otherwise, Grandpa Tree will be angry.” Braydon smiled and assured him, “I won’t do anything bad, Baby. You’re misunderstanding me.” Satisfied, Baby led Braydon in a particular direction. They soon came to a small hole in the ground, and Baby stopped. “Benefactor, you’ll see Grandpa Tree once you go through here. But it’s a tight space. Can you fit?” Braydon inspected the small opening. It seemed designed to deter larger creatures like humans. “Don’t worry,” Braydon said, forming a hand seal. His body shrank instantly. “Alright, let’s go.” Baby stared at Braydon, now the same size as him, with wide eyes. “Benefactor, you can shrink too! Wait—were you always this small and just pretending to be bigger before?” Braydon glanced at Baby, unsure how to explain. “Alright, alright. Let’s not waste time. Grandpa Tree is waiting.” “Grandpa Tree is waiting?” Baby asked, startled. “But weren’t we just looking for him? Are there other grandpas?” Braydon sighed, exasperated. “It’s Grandpa Tree. He’s waiting for us, and if we don’t hurry, you might get scolded.” Baby jumped, startled. “Oh no, let’s go! Grandpa Tree told me to come back early, and I forgot the time.” The tunnel ahead was dark, but to Braydon’s eyes, it was as clear as daylight. The space wasn’t small; it seemed to weave through the roots of a massive tree. Following Baby, Braydon moved quickly. After about ten minutes, they emerged into the light. “We’re here!” Baby exclaimed. Braydon noticed plants swaying and whispering to one another. “I heard Grandpa Tree say that Baby brought a human back,” one murmured. “But aren’t humans full of greed?” another asked. “Baby wouldn’t bring back someone dangerous, right?” “What does it matter? We still have Grandpa Tree,” a third said. As Braydon stepped out of the tunnel and returned to his normal size, he looked around at the animated plants. “I am Lige Guay. Greetings, everyone…plants,” he said with a polite bow. “Hello, human,” a few plants responded cautiously. “Human, are you really full of greed?” one asked. Braydon smiled. “Are you all this friendly? Or do your parents look exactly like you?” The young saplings appeared lost in thought, and Braydon moved forward, following Baby. Ahead was a vast clearing, and at its center stood a colossal tree whose canopy seemed to touch the sky. Sunlight streamed through its branches, nourishing the land below. The tree’s thick bark bore the marks of countless seasons. Baby approached the tree with his head hung low. “Grandpa Tree, I know I was wrong. I shouldn’t have wandered off this time.” As Baby spoke, a green light appeared atop the tree. When it faded, an old man holding a wooden staff stood before them. He looked frail, but Braydon could sense the immense power within him—a power vast and unending. This was a level nine transcendent! In a place like Life and Death Valley, Braydon hadn’t expected such a powerful being. The old man opened his arms and hugged Baby warmly. “Baby, it’s not that I don’t want you to play, but this place is dangerous. If it weren’t for this kind benefactor, would you have made it back safely?” Though his tone was stern, it was filled with care. Braydon’s mind raced. How had this old man known everything without being told? It struck Braydon—Baby’s every move had likely been under Grandpa Tree’s watch. This had all been a lesson for Baby, carefully orchestrated to show him the dangers of the outside world. “Grandpa Tree, I understand now,” Baby said softly.
