The Strongest War God Chapter 2078

Chapter 2078: Night Crow Chapter 2078: Night Crow Editor: EndlessFantasy Translation Sedona Zaborano gently brushed her finger against the book. Braydon Neal, seemingly unaware, took the book from her. He flipped it open and began reading intently. Before long, he came across the giant bear he had killed earlier that day, detailed within the pages. The book documented fifty types of magical beasts, including Braydon’s night crow. The night crow—one of the deadliest predators in the Dark Forest—thrived on meat and lived in groups. “Do you have a way to contact your sister?” Braydon asked casually after finishing the book and returning it to Sedona. “Yes, but it’ll take her two days to get here.” “When my sister arrives, your mission will be complete.” Braydon nodded slowly, weariness etched on his face. “I’m a bit tired. I’ll rest for a while. Don’t make any noise.” With that, he closed his eyes. Silence blanketed the sealed cave. Sedona sat quietly across from the bonfire, her gaze fixed on Braydon without uttering a word. An hour passed. “Lige?” Sedona’s soft voice broke the stillness. But Braydon, leaning against the wall, remained motionless, seemingly lost in deep sleep. Her calls went unanswered. Quietly, Sedona rose from her seat, her expression smug as she eyed him. “I don’t care if you’re a so-called ‘proud son of heaven.’ You still couldn’t resist the beauty trap.” She smirked, glancing at the book. “It was worth carefully coating it with Lost Immortal Powder. Anyone exposed to it would sleep for at least three days and nights.” Kicking away the large rock blocking the cave entrance, Sedona lit a stick of sandalwood. She approached Braydon, her gaze lingering on his pale yet strikingly handsome face. A trace of pity crossed her features. “What a beautiful face. Too bad you’ll meet your end here today. If I needed male slaves, you might have had a chance.” Outside, footsteps approached. Two men entered, exuding an aura of celestial-level strength despite their unremarkable appearances. “Sedona, looks like you’ve caught another one,” one of them said, pulling her into his arms, his hands roaming freely. Sedona didn’t resist, laughing coquettishly. “Hehe, Senior Brother Wellborn, you’re always teasing me.” “Teasing? With your efficiency, we’ll be the wealthiest in the outer sect soon,” the other man chimed in, placing his hands on her without hesitation. Braydon observed silently, biding his time. “What a handsome boy,” Senior Brother Wellborn remarked, glancing at Braydon. “Junior Sister, are you sure you don’t want to keep him as a slave?” “I don’t need him,” Sedona replied dismissively. “He’s good-looking, but who knows if he’d be any use in bed? Only my two senior brothers can satisfy me.” Her words elicited raucous laughter. “Good, good,” Senior Brother Wellborn said, drawing a dagger. “Let’s kill him and see if he has anything valuable.” “Definitely. Controlling night crows must mean he has something worthwhile.” Senior Brother Wellborn approached Braydon, dagger in hand. “Kid, let me teach you a lesson. There’s no such thing as a lost daughter of a rich family. Those are just fantasies of the weak.” “Oh,” a soft voice replied. The casual sound froze Senior Brother Wellborn in his tracks, his hair standing on end. “You’re not bewitched…” Suddenly, Senior Brother Wellborn staggered back, disbelief in his eyes. Moments ago, Braydon had been sound asleep. Now, he was awake, his gaze piercing. “Kill him!” Senior Brother Wellborn screamed, retreating to his companions. But his two allies stared at him strangely. “Why are you looking at me like that?” he demanded. Sedona pointed a trembling finger at his chest. “Senior Brother Wellborn… Your chest… there’s a sword!” He looked down to see the hilt of a blade protruding from his chest, blood streaming down. He turned to Braydon, his strength fading, and shouted, “It was her idea! We’re just accomplices. Kill her!” His eyes burned with hatred as he collapsed, his spiritual power sealed by Braydon. Though Braydon’s current strength wasn’t overwhelming, he could easily dispatch several celestial-level opponents. Sedona and the remaining man panicked, attempting to flee, but a spatial barrier blocked the exit. “Why the rush?” Braydon’s voice, cold as death, echoed through the cave, sending shivers down their spines. Realizing they were no match for him, Sedona’s demeanor shifted. She tore her clothes, revealing the undergarment beneath. “I know I was wrong,” she pleaded, her body leaning toward him seductively. “I’ll do anything you want—just spare me.” But Braydon sidestepped her easily. With a flick of his wrist, the sword impaling Senior Brother Wellborn flew back into his hand. “I’m not interested,'” he said flatly, his words wiping the smugness from Sedona’s face. “He won’t let us live!” the other man shouted, drawing a large knife and charging at Braydon. A sinister smile crossed Braydon’s pale face. With a single motion, the man’s body was severed in two. Blood splattered everywhere, but Braydon didn’t flinch. His pallor faded, and his dark clothes deepened in color. He turned to Sedona, his voice soft yet chilling. “It’s your turn now.”
