My eyes burned with tears, my body filled with marks, one that he inflicted on me with so much happiness, and the more his eyes met mine, he would smile and it annoyed him that he was not able to erase the mark, he was not able to place another mark on it.
At some point I was scared he would try and hurt me, he would try and have sex with me because he felt annoyed yet he didn’t; it made me feel better that he didn’t do any of that.
"Wake up princess." I heard his voice, I didn’t sleep, I could not sleep, my wolf is in pain and I didn’t trust him, I didn’t trust the idea of him coming close to me while I am asleep and I didn’t think it was a good idea to.
"It’s been a whole day and Luca is not here, I think he is finally done with you, a man like him, he may love and care for you but he will do anything for his pack, he will do anything just to be with his pack". Conrad explained.
My eyes filled with tears, I have a feeling he felt all of the pain that I feel and I don’t want to believe that he will not come for me, I know he is mad at me but he will come for me.
"He will come." I breathed out so low, I was convinced that he was not going to hear me but when my eyes peered up, his eyes met mine and I was sure that he heard me.
He gave me a knowing smile and he sat beside me, with a glass of water in his hand, I would do anything for that water, I needed it and he knew that.
"What’s wrong? Are you desperate for a glass of water, here is what is going to happen, I will give you a sip for every hour Luca is not here." He spoke with a smile on his face.
"Why are you doing this, you could have just pushed me away, you could have rejected me and I would find my way out of your life; why did you have to do any of this, is that why you got married to me, did you ever even love me Conrad, did you ever care for me, I left everything for you, my family, my life, my home, my city, I left it all just to be with you." I breathed out, my chest tightened against my heart.
He can’t run away from this, I need to know what is happening, I need to find out why he is doing any of this and I need to find out his truth, his secrets, and all he has been hiding.
"When I met you, I loved you." He spoke when my eye met his until he burst into laughter, my eyes filled with more tears as I stared at him and he started to laugh more like a madman.
He continued to laugh, until he fell to the ground again, was fun for him maybe it is, he enjoyed the fact that I was in pain, he enjoyed the fact that it was all getting better for him, and he enjoyed the fact that this was what I wanted to hear.
"What do you think, do you think this is therapy, where you force me to talk about my feelings?"
"Why? Are you scared? Are you worried that you would not be able to handle the reality of how you truly feel, you are worried to revisit the past, come on, I have all the time and so do you, if you had better things to do you would not be here to baby sit, you would be with Victor, yet you are not, you said a sip for every hour, talk to me." I breathed out.
I know he can’t hurt me for now because I need to heal, any bleeding, and I may end up dying or he will have to take me to the hospital and he would not want that.
I stared at him and I smiled, there is nothing he can do to me.
"You know when I met you, I thought finally I found someone that cared, that didn’t feel pity because of the life I lived and a beta for that matter, you didn’t care that I am an omega, in your twisted way, you manipulated me into thinking that you are the better person, you manipulated me into thinking I didn’t have to work, I didn’t have to be myself and I am weak, I am better wife than I should have ever been, you manipulated me in different ways and I didn’t even realize it until now, and you stand here and look at me, stare at me like you are the victim, like you are the most greatest person and you cheated on me, you betrayed me and I didn’t, I have the right to move on and I have the right to move on with who I want, with who I care about and with who would make me happy." I smiled.
"Is that what you think, you claim you love me and you didn’t even care for me, for years I was struggling in the same home as you and you didn’t bother."
"I don’t read minds Conrad; all I can do is ask and ask and if you don’t desire to tell me what is going on, I can’t do anything about it and if you pretend it’s all good, I can’t do anything about it either, you know I am glad this shame of our marriage is over, I am glad that it’s just me and Luca now, because he is better than you.." I yelled.
I closed my eyes for a second and I felt my heart beating faster, begging for help.
"He cares for me, when he looks at me, he doesn’t see someone that needs help, he is not seeing someone that feel she is weak, he is not seeing someone that feels she has lost everything, he saw someone that deserve to be loved, he sees someone that is strong, you know the first time I kissed him, it didn’t feel wrong." I breathed out when he dropped the cup to the ground.
"Be careful with your next words, I am not scared to kill you."He said and I smirked.
"If you wanted me dead, I would have died a long time ago, even as a Beta you didn’t have control and now that you rebel, you still don’t have control, you are being controlled by your cousin Victor, and he didn’t even trust you with the most important job, or wait did he tell you that babysitting me is more important" I smiled.
I wanted to provoke him, I know my ex-husband better than anyone and I am aware of the fact that if he is too angry he will do something wrong and that will cause Victor to come, I know there are people outside of this room, I could hear their footsteps.
I could feel their presence and all I wanted him to do was make a mistake, get yelled at by Victor, and even if he hurts me, he will have to take me to a doctor, a real one and maybe then I can escape.
"You speak so highly of him, where is he?"
"He will come, unlike you, he would not betray me, he saw me and he realized that I am strong, my wolf is strong and you saw me as charity case, someone that needed help, someone that is going to beg and ask for help as long as she is alive, I knew that being away from you is better, do you when he marked me, he placed his lips on mine and that’s when we slept with each other." I smiled.
I saw his fist clenched in anger as he stared at me, my eyes were on his for a moment when I looked away and he inched closer to me, he crouched down and his hand made contact with my face.
"Luca didn’t hurt me no matter what you did, I know you had something to do with his secret, you told the world and you made him think that it was me, guess what, Luca didn’t yell, he didn’t curse he only asked me and he didn’t punish me, your stupid plan didn’t work; what makes you think he will not come for me, what makes you think when he does, his wolf would not shatter you, you know the saying, what you can’t control may end up leading to your death," I yelled when his hand made contact with my face.
My eyes filled with more tears as I saw him pacing across the room, that slap only made me stronger, I am going to make him pay for it.
