"Don’t get all shy on me Ollie." Luca smiled.
He is back with the nickname, which made me feel like a child, he made me feel pure and good unlike my ex husband ever did, it’s like with him, I didn’t have to bother about my childlike part, he always cared for it; he always loved it.
I glanced at him for a moment still softly touching my neck, the mark was more prominent, it felt more real.
He placed a kiss on each side of my cheek when I rested on him, my heart beating softly, my wolf had never felt this safe before, it felt like I was where I should have belonged a long time ago.
"What are you thinking about?" Luca asked
"How long before this ends, who is Conrad working with?" I mumbled against my breath.
"Victor." He spoke and my blood froze, I suddenly adjusted my position to stare at him, my eyes met his briefly and he had an idea I had something I wanted to say.
"You know Victor." He asked and I nodded.
"Maybe it’s a different one". I whispered. "There are many people that share the name Luca, it could be someone else I have in mind."
I closed my eyes for a second, thinking hard about the things that took place.
"I met Victor twice; a year after we got married two years after, he has always been good to us, Victor is- what is he?" Luca asked.
"What’s Victor last name?" I breathed out.
"Mikelson." He spoke and my breath hitches, it’s the same one, he is the enemy Luca has been talking about for this long and it scared me, it terrified me that this could have been going on for a long time.
"You need to tell me what’s going on," Luca said calmly, his eyes met mine as he pulled me closer to him, he softly touched my face, in his way he is telling me that it’s all going to be fine. "Anything you can remember."
"That’s Conrad’s older cousin, he wanted us to move here because his cousin worked somewhere around here, their surname is not the same because you know why, Conrad’s aunt was banished, thrown out of the family and erased for marrying someone they didn’t like, for years no one heard from her before she gave birth to Victor, I don’t know how they became close or even friends because I only saw him twice because last time I asked, Conrad always said they met by accident and now he is trying to make amends, fix his family Ana bring them together, when I didn’t see him again, Conrad mentioned his aunt may not be ready to meet the family," I explained.
I never thought about it, I never thought it would ever be important.
Nothing I ever imagined ever came through, if anyone had told me that, I would be in Luca’s bed today and it would be voluntary, I would laugh at them, yet here I am.
I had a few thoughts, many that I didn’t even know how to describe, because this is someone I opened my home too and I thought he was good, how long has Conrad been plotting about this, was he always going to keep me in the dark to after did it have it in mind to use me, kill me to get what he wanted
"Victor has been your enemy for how long?." I breathed out.
"Years ago, when my father took over, he was friends with mine and when I took over, I made changes he didn’t like, Victor is much older than I was. And he thought it was disgraceful to force him to do something because a kid said so, I killed-" Luca was about to say when he kept quiet.
"I don’t care, they are not my family, I never met any of them and they never cared for me either". I breathed out, anyone related to Conrad, I hated them, I hate that it’s their fault everything is going wrong and I hate that he hid so much from me.
"I killed his mom, and I imprisoned his wife for a long time, before he rescued her, he thought he did, I handed her over," Luca spoke, he is not a monster I reminded myself.
"Do you think, do you think Conrad knew all of that before he sold me to you, do you think maybe it’s all been his plan, I can’t even believe I am saying this because up until now, I didn’t think he did hurt a fly." I breathed out.
He has always pretended to be good, I sold myself and I hated him for that, but even at that, I never thought he would be capable of hurting another person, like killing someone, hurting, and orchestrating a plan.
"I will find out," Luca said.
I pulled toward him again.
"It’s not your fault, you were a pawn in his game, his cousin game and he should have known, Victor has been attacking me for a long time, I am sure he could have said something, or maybe that has the reason he kept him away to pretend like they didn’t know each other, they didn’t care for each other," Luca spoke.
He didn’t say it but I could see the anger in his eyes, I could see the way his breath hitches and I placed a soft kiss against his lips.
Conrad is going to die, his death would be harsh and I would be here to witness it, I wondered how many lives he ruined to do what he wanted, to obtain revenge for his aunt and his cousin.
I wanted to feel bad for them yet I didn’t.
"I want to try and remember things about Victor." I breathed out, maybe something slipped up years ago and I brushed it off, something I never thought would be important.
"I need to because maybe he did some things and I didn’t even pay attention to it and I should have, I always kept his items in his office, I always arranged it for him and maybe I saw something, I know it’s in there, I know that I need to remember." I breathed out.
I could not help but feel was a bit of my fault, I could not help but think that I should have seen the signs, a cousin he had ever talked to, and all of a sudden the cousin is not there as the years go by, he talks about how much he hates working for the Alpha.
His business starts to go worse and he never comes home; I always thought he had to be cheating, I always thought that there was a reason he didn’t come home now that I do; he didn’t cheat on me, he was probably working with his cousin.
"Uhm....he travelled this year, you sent him to the city nearby for work for a month." I breathed out.
"I didn’t," Luca spoke. That was a lie then but I packed his things. I was sure that he travelled because I booked the ticket and I watched him enter the train, he video called me on time because I complained that he didn’t
He didn’t lie to me, he was there for a reason.
"Can you remember the date and when, I need to tell someone to see what they can find, maybe they are hiding there," Luca explained and I nodded.
He handed me a paper and a pen, I could remember it clearly because that’s when I started to believe more that he was definitely cheating on me
I thought of going there to make sure that I catch him red-handed but I didn’t, I didn’t want to because I always thought that it was not worth it, that’s when I believe I stopped loving him completely but he broke my trust when he sold me.
"Look at me". Luca spoke and my eye met his, I looked away again when he used his fingertip to guide my gaze, my eyes met his for a second and he leaned in to place a kiss on my lips.
"It’s not your fault, he is such a horrible human, he didn’t just betray you, he betrayed the pack and it worried me that never she left; he took some with him, people that agreed to his cause, people that want him to be the Alpha, people that are tried that my bloodline is the Alpha and they want a chance." He stated and I nodded.
I believed every word he said because Conrad always thought he would do a better job and it always annoyed me because he cousin or because he was a lazy person or because he was after wealth that didn’t belong to him.
I stared at him with a smile on my face, letting all the bad feelings fade away.
