"Christine- Don’t Olivia:" he said cutting me off, he wiped my wounds, and he didn’t dare look at me. "You tried to leave me."
"I tried to save myself," I murmured against my breath. "I tried to stay alive," I said again and his eyes met mine before he looked away.
"Fuck." He mumbled against his breath, he is trying to control his wolf, he is trying not to mess this up and he is trying so hard so he won’t hurt me. I know he is mad at me, I know that all he wants to do is tell me how mad he is that I tried to leave, that I didn’t for once think about him, that I didn’t wait to even think about what would happen after I left.
I didn’t, all I knew was that he was lying to me, he knew more about my life than my husband Conrad did and it didn’t feel right.
"Take a shower and change your clothes, don’t make me repeat myself again Olivia," Christine spoke, his tone calming and his eyes filled with anger and distaste.
The moment I stood up, I headed toward the bathroom and he did the same too when I stopped in my tracks.
"You and I both know that I can’t trust you alone, what are you going to try and do, run away through that window, or batter her, find a weapon to hurt me or any of my guards that try to stop you?" He gritted through his teeth and my eyes widened.
I swallowed the tears that were threatening to fall.
"I only wanted to leave because of you, because you lied to me because I can’t trust you," I whispered when he took two strides toward me, his eyes were on mine when he wrapped his hand around my waist and he pulled me closer to him, he didn’t look any happier.
"I did what I had to do to protect you, what do you think is going to happen when you leave, you will go back to Conrad. I didn’t force him to sell you to me, I didn’t force him to do anything, you are trying to find an excuse for him because there is a part of you that still thinks that, he could not have sold you after all the things you shared."
"You know nothing about me." I breathed out when a tear slipped out of my eyes.
"That’s where you are wrong, I know everything and you can’t even imagine how pissed I am right now, how much I want to yell at you for trying to run away, trying to leave me, you are mine Olivia, you belong to me, and if you had left, I would have done everything to find you."
"I thought you were good, I thought you cared for me," I whispered.
"I do and I always will but if I have to act like the villain so you will stay, I will do that, now go take a bath, close the door but I will be standing here, try and run away again." He threatened before he let me go.
He didn’t even hold me harshly, he held me gently and calmly, like he still cared for me, I didn’t seem to understand him most of the time.
After a shower, and well spent thirty minutes in the bathroom, he still stood by the door, his eyes were on mine as he stared at me, waiting for me to make another mistake.
I should have listened to my instincts, I always knew that I would be caught, I felt like from the moment I stepped out of the house and I was right.
When we walked further into my room, he stood by me like a shadow until I asked him to turn and he didn’t argue, he did as I changed my clothing.
"You are lucky I care about you Olivia," Christine spoke as I wore my clothes, it sounded more like a threat. It meant if he didn’t care for me, I would be dead, it meant if he didn’t care for me, he would have and me in his basement and he would have hurt me for trying to defy him.
I am lucky that he cared for me, I am lucky that he cared for the fact that I am someone that he wanted to be with.
I was pulled out of my thoughts when I heard a knock on my door, Christine didn’t hesitate in opening the door, and a few men walked in without sparing me a glance.
"What’s going on?." I whispered.
"Well since I can’t trust you anymore, they are taking your things into my room," Christine explained
"I don’t- good thing I am not asking you, you are going to stay with me, next time you try to run away, I will be beside you, this time you better find a way to drug me or else I will be awake." He said cutting me off.
I stared at him with disbelief written all over my eyes, the moment his eyes met mine, he smirked, I didn’t dare say a word to him when we headed out of his room
As much as I wanted to rebel and yell, I didn’t, I am not in the place to, and I know no one will listen to me, where would I have gone if I ran away, I would have paid in exchange for my transportation and I would find a way to leave.
I had thought that by the time he would find out I am gone, I would be far away, maybe I thought of going to meet Conrad but that’s a horrible idea, who is to say he would not have returned me because he is scared.
Christine has secrets and I am going to figure it out, or be dodged Conrad to sell me, I will find out.
"Now sleep Olivia and I don’t want to hear a word about you, you can think about ways to apologize to me tomorrow." He breathed out.
"Where are you going to?" I asked when he turned to look at me.
"To make the man who hurt you pay." He spoke, his voice cracking with anger.
"Nothing is going to be fixed by his death, you can not do this, it would not make me feel better," I begged, I know he hurt me but I can’t let anyone die because of me.
Luca may be comfortable with death but I was not, I am not comfortable with anyone getting hurt because of me, my eyes met his when he leaned in toward me.
His scent filled my nostrils when he wiped my tears with his fingertips.
"If the world were filled with people like you. We would not have to worry about anything." He said and my breath hitches.
Waiting for him to utter the rest of his words, I knew he would.
"I would hate you if you did this."
"You already do, but-" he was about to say when he smirked at me
"You are begging for a man who wants you dead. A man who didn’t care that you are mine, a man who didn’t regard the orders of his Alpha and he tried to hurt you."
"Stop saying that." I breathed out, and more tears streamed down my cheeks when he leaned in and his lips grazed my ear.
"You are mine, you are always going to be mine, you may not accept it but you feel it, the blood pumping through your body does." He spoke, his words sending chills down my spine and I nodded.
"If I am then listen to me, don’t hurt him, don’t kill him, see him as someone not being worthy of your wrath, you leave him alone, you can yell but don’t hurt him," I begged, he pulled away and smirked like he understood what I was trying to do.
What did I think, I should have known that he would.
"If I do that, my authority will collapse, my men would think that they can do whatever they want because I would not fight back, I will not punish, come with me and see what being an Alpha feels like." He spoke and I shook my head.
I realized he was not asking. He is demanding, he wanted me to come with him, he wanted me to watch him like he worked and my heart, my heart begged him not to.
He pulled me out of the room and he carried me on his shoulder, my eyes filled with more tears.
"Luca you don’t have to do this," I begged and he didn’t stop, I trashed and begged, he didn’t hear my pleas, he wanted me to punish myself too, make me learn that if I try it again, others would suffer because of me
Luca led me to my doom, without caring if it would affect me.
