Lucas
I could smell her arousal because it was a lot more enticing when one approached the end of the heat period. Her pupils were dilated and I could take her where she lay without any objections from her. Nobody ever said no to their mate especially a wolf who was in the kind of state she was. I pulled her into my arms and she followed, forgetting how much she probably hated me. Her emotions were in control and she almost tackled me to the floor in a frenzy.
“Easy, mate,” I soothed her gently, patting her soft hair. “You are my business and I am here to set you free. However, the final decision lies with my father.”
Her heavy breathing diminished to a soft hum as she sat close to me. I couldn't resist wrapping my arms around her curves, a possessive move, of course but a subconscious move that I had done without even thinking about it. She was mine, all mine and I had forgiven the Moon Goddess for her meddling matchmaking.
“What do you plan to do then?” she wanted to know, dipping her jaw to look at where my hands held her jealously. She fired a stare at me from over her shoulders and it only made me tighten my grip. Her unstable emotions were confusing. Just a few seconds ago, she was clinging to me like a leech and in the next minute, she wanted nothing to do with me. I didn't plan to take my hands away regardless of how piercing her stare was.
“The triduum for the Moon Festival begins today with a dance contest between the slaves and no one is held prisoner during a festival. In the light of this, I wish to present your case before my father and...” I broke off and tongued the flesh next to where the brutal collar sat. She shivered involuntarily, not expecting the move and leaned into me the more.
“And?” she croaked, her husky voice carrying the single word across to my ears.
“And,” I repeated, moving my palms slowly underneath her thin shirt and captured her hard nipples between my fingers. “I am so tired of seeing this ugly collar around your neck. It doesn't suit your exquisite personality.” I ran a canine down her neck and she inclined her head, giving me more room to torment her. Her tits were as hard as nails and her globes had the hue of expensive alabaster. “I want to see you without this interfering clothes. I want you naked and in my bed all day and all night. I think of it so much that I jack off every night.”
Her breathing hitched and she choked on whatever it was she had opened her rosebud lips to say. Her shirt hung above her breasts, displayed for me as a irresistible meal from the Goddess. I plucked at their sensitive tips and she groaned from the depths of her throat. “You think about me, My Lord?”
“Only every minute, Miatta, only every bloody second. By God, I will get you out of here and we will continue this in a more comfortable scenery. Are you ready to see my father?”
She twisted around and nodded bravely. “Let's go see the king.”
Miatta
I stood on trial before the Lycan King in his throne room. Lucas had advised that no matter what I heard, I was to keep my eyes casted to the ground and say nothing unless called upon. He had also asked me to have faith in him to ensure my freedom. I hardly trusted anyone but when I saw the determination in his eyes, I blindly put my life in his hands. Beta Logan sat on an elevated stone chair, debating with Lucas. If it was left to the obnoxious Beta, he might have ensured that I spent forever in that cell.
“Prince Lucas, the slave broke the rule and thus, she should be allowed to face the consequences of her actions. Forgive me if I am speaking out of turn, Alpha but I think that the prince is asking too much too soon. She has only spent—what is it, two days? I don't think she has learned her lesson.”
Lucas chuckled shortly and came to stand squarely before his father. I could see his feet moving but I could not tell what was on his mind. I prayed silently, beseeching the Goddess to put the right words in his mouth.
“Father, today marks the beginning of our triduum before the celebration of the Moon Festival. As tradition demands, everyone and anyone is allowed to participate in the festivities. As a result of this ancient tradition, I plead with you to pardon Miatta and allow her share in the blessings of this year's festival. Her offence was an attempt to attack a perfect as Beta Logan said himself. A mere attempt does not deserve such a punishment as indefinite imprisonment. I beg you to reconsider, Father.”
He stepped back, then took two more steps backwards until he was standing in my line of sight. The Lycan King was oddly silent and perspiration ran down my back, soaking my light clothes. The tension was getting to me and I was ready to faint when his booming voice filled the room.
“You have recited a string of traditional laws, Lucas but do not forget that only I, the Lycan Alpha and King has the right to interpret any law or piece of tradition. Do not begin to assume that you suddenly know tradition more than I do.” His words were worse than a bare-bottomed spanking and Lucas bowed, offering his sincere apologies for seeming too forward.
“Beta Logan, you are absolutely right in saying that it is too soon to release this slave. Her history of mutiny has been witnessed by all three of us present. Setting her free may require a balance, that is, I will have to release the other prisoners we have on ground. Is that what you want, Lucas?”
The Lycan King was tricky and had prepared a trap for Lucas with his clever words. The latter however was not deterred by the question. It was as if he had made himself ready for any stray bullets.
“Miatta will be monitored closely by me, Father and I promise not to spare her should she cause any trouble. It is her first year here as a slave and I do not want her to miss any of the experiences.” His voice was strong with conviction and I hung my head with difficulty, itching to see the expression on Beta Logan’s face. Nevertheless, his opinion was not the one I wanted to hear. My freedom now depended on the King's decision.
