Thea’s Point of View
"I don't know what you're talking about." I stood up and put my feet on the cold floor. But when I was about to pass him, he pushed me and I was back in bed.
After that, he walked over to me, scooped me up, and threw me back onto the warm mattress. I gave him the "death stare" because of this.
"Why don't you tell me that you've already been worried by threats from other people?" His voice now rang through the whole room.
I can tell he's mad even though I can't see his face. I saw his fist get tighter. Before he spoke again, he tightly shut his eyes.
"Look, Thea. I don't know what your problem is. Since what happened at the event, you have changed. I don't know what you're thinking these days."
Now, he's calmer, and me? I burst out laughing until the pain in my heart ceased. I thought when I laugh, the pain goes away and life goes back to normal. But it didn't happen. My eyes filled with tears, and it looked like there was nothing left in that raging river.
"How can you understand what I'm thinking or what I have been going through if you're too busy with other women to pay attention to your wife?” I wiped the tears that didn't stop flowing before I continued.
“When I saw that box, do you know how I felt and how scared I was? There is a doll with its head cut off, blood, and knives. I don't know how to react because fear seems to be running through my veins. And where are you during that time?" My anger is boiling over. This is what I’m afraid of: blaming him for things he has no control over. We were just legally married in the paper, what am I expecting?
"That's because—"
“No! I gave you the chance to be honest. But you didn't tell me! You acted like you really love me! You didn’t tell me that everything was just an arranged marriage! Why did you need to do that? What makes you think that living in lies was the best option?" My heart and mind were exploding like a volcano, so I was hollering. And at last, I felt better because I could finally get rid of the pain I had been having for a few days now.
When I tried to get down from the bed, I tried to peek at him and saw that he looked like a statue. Well, perhaps he finally got it, that I already knew all there was to know about.
I didn’t pay attention to him anymore and ignored him. As I turned the doorknob, I felt a tight embrace behind my back.
He put his chin on my shoulder and held on to me as if he didn't want to let go. This is what I feared: an embrace, a kiss, and a simple explanation. Everything seems to go back to normal again, my heart is screaming his name again and the hatred I have for him would be buried once more.
"There is no lie in what I showed you. And Felicity as my past lover is true. It's just because my mom wants us to get along. She's worried about us because we've been together for so long."
He still hugged me while he weakly explained. It's like a mother scolding a child who then has to explain what he did wrong, but I'm not satisfied with his answer because that's not the only thing I'm afraid of. I still had one question, we might be fine right away. However I was also melting away little by little. My anger is going away slowly. It's not fair that I'm so weak around him, and yet I don't know how he feels about me.
"About kissing." Craig knows what I'm talking about. Even though it's been days since that happened, there are still sharp marks in my heart.
"We are definitely not going to kiss. However, Felicity planned it perfectly when you walked in. I was still extremely upset with her because of what she did. She also copied what you actually wore. I told her to say sorry to you, and when she told me she would, I let her off the hook for what she had done. She said she had already written to you."
I remember getting a text message from a number I didn't know, but it wasn't about the apology he was talking about.
"I didn't get any messages, but a notification from an unknown number sent me a picture of you and Felicity talking." After I said that, he turned my body to face him completely. His face was filled with doubt. I can't blame him for what Felicity did, and it helped me figure out a few things.
“What?”
I gave a firm nod to show I was sure. He stared at me longer and sighed. It seemed like he was giving up and starting to believe me. I took his hand off of me again, and I was ready to leave again. Even though he explained, I still don't trust him. I know he still has a lot of secrets. I'll learn them slowly, one by one, until I know all of them.
"Where're you going?" He has his hand around my waist now. It moved up and down like it was trying to do something. It seems that the cold of the night made my body feel warm. Behind my ear, I could feel the heat of his breath. That made my hair stand on end. I couldn't answer because my knees were giving out and I thought that if I opened my mouth, all I could do was moan.
"There's no place for you to go."
That was the last thing he said to me before pulling me up, making me crazy, and melting my body heat.
