I stilled with clumsy hands as I stared at them stride inside.
But instead of embracing him or uttering a word, I looked away. I tilted my neck to the other side with my arms folded.
I can't bear to look into his eyes, I don't want him to see that I am hurting so badly.
His eyelid twitches up and I knew that he might have figured out that I am not happy.
"Can you give us a few minutes?" He asked Liam with his eyes fixed on me.
"Yeah! Why not," Liam chipped in with a dazzling smile.
He bowed a bit and walked away.
"What's wrong?" Ryan turned me around to face him.
My heart shrinks as the remembrance hits me, the fact still remains that he wants the real me dead.
What will happen if he finds out that I am the mystery girl?
Will he still look at me with adoration and love?
Will I still be his thesaurus?
And I think that will give those three demons enough reason to tear us apart.
I sighed and looked away so many questions clouded my mind at the same time.
"I asked you again thesaurus, what is the issue?" He said with a worried voice.
I turned and stared into his eyes, all I could see is pure love and concern but I am in pain that this won't last anymore.
All the fantasies that I have for us will only remain in my imagination.
"I am good," I said after hours of keeping silent.
"But you don't seem good or even sound good," he said before tugging my hair behind me.
"I am good just that I am a bit stressed out," I sighed.
He paused and glanced around his study, a frown settling in between his eyebrows. My heart skips as fear clouded me for him not to find out about the picture.
He turned around and looked at me with a frown.
"Who tidied up here?"
"I…….I mean
" Tell me the truth, my thesaurus," he said with a muffled voice.
"Fine! I did it,"
"Do you have to do it?
I involuntarily released the breath that I was holding, so he was just worried.
"I was looking for you and when I entered here was dirty and messed up so I decided to tidy it up as I wait for you," I faked a smile.
He sighed before pulling me close to him, "You shouldn't have done that……. I can do that or as well order someone to do that,"
"And I am sure that you are stressed out because of that," he trails his hands on my cheeks.
I felt a sparkle wherever his hand touched but my once quiet moment was interrupted by him.
"I have noticed that your hair keeps growing and changing color each passing day,"
"Huh!" I gasped.
"But I love it but….." The corner of his lips twitched up in confusion, "How is that possible?"
"I have not heard of such or even seen it before," he said.
"Hmmm….. It is hereditary, I could remember my mom telling me before her demise that there is a stage that a person will reach in our clan and their hair or nails will start changing to another style or color,"
"And I thought that I have reached that stage, this is our family's deepest secret," I finished with a nervous smile.
"Huh! Sounds interesting……. That means that our pups will have them," he smiles but I felt my throat taste bitter.
We can't be together forever, not when everyone has started noticing the change in my hair.
And I know that soon this evil power will resurrect again and I reject his words. If I am to have a pup in this world which I know will be impossible because of my statutes, I wouldn't want them to inherit this cursed power.
"What do you think?" His question snapped me out of my mind.
"Hmm,"
"I mean about our pups having the same hair,"
"Till then maybe something else in them will change," I shrugged.
"But why were you people giving that power?"
"No one told me about that till now,"
"You are special, you know that," I gulped at his words.
"Come here," he started moving toward the couch.
Sitting down, he wrapped me around his hands with his head deepened in between my neck.
It hurts that this won't happen again, it might be the last moment that I could be able to experience with him again.
"Who is this mystery girl?" The question rolled out of my mouth involuntarily.
I felt him stifle before lifting his head.
"She is a curse,"
I watch his lips move up and down as the painful words slide out of them.
"Don't worry I will do everything to protect you against that demon," I smiled and blinked back my tears.
"Don't cry you hear, for you are safe here with me," he mumbled.
"If I caught her I won't resist the urge of killing her,"
"I will strangle her for hurting and imposing fear among my people, I will make sure that she died under my sword,"
I felt numb at his words and confession.
No! No! …….. This can't be happening.
Does he have any slightest idea that I am the so-called girl on his lap? I am sure that he will cut off my head if he finds out.
My heart tightened as breathing became hard for me.
My head started spinning and it became difficult for me to wrap what he just said around it.
"Hey! Thesaurus, you okay," I could hear his concerned voice but I paid no attention to them.
Everything seemed burly to me but I still managed to get up from his body.
I could see his lips moving up and down but I couldn't hear a single word from him, my vision felt burly and his images sprinkled into four.
I staggered a bit but maintained my position.
He tried holding me but I swatted off his hand and ran out of the room with broken and teary eyes.
We can't be together Ryan despite how much I crave you.
