The CEO's Secret Chapter 17

Magnetic cards in the control board of the elevator, keypads with codes, and even fingerprint readers. I don't know the things he did but when we arrived at the right floor, damn condo. Who said this one lives in the condo? I'm an architectural student. Penthouse are effin different from the condo I'm talking about. I was almost dazzled by the light that shone on us. The glass wall is the first thing you'll see. The whole city is in full view, you will think you are floating in the air. She was very brave and I didn't have to go in on my own. I'm still ashamed to step on his marble floor. The design is modern and minimal, only a few colors are in the pallet. Obviously men live because of that color. Black, gray, white moreover you will see nothing. I was amazed when my attention was drawn to the glass pool surrounding his iving area that connects until the outside of his place. That's his infinity pool. It was as if I had stopped breathing. We studied it all but I was still amazed to see the breadth and unique design of it. My eyes could hardly estimate the size of his penthouse. The place is very dim and only sunlight from the glass wall provides light. "You want to stay here or you'll come with me in the kitchen?" Damn. I almost forgot that I'm with him. "I'm just in the kitchen." I feel sad when I am alone here. It's as if someone is touching you in a very quiet way. He nodded and I followed him I think he was going to the kitchen. I'm not mistaken. All are in black features, the accents are white, even the drop lights in the middle counter top are box white. The appliances are silver metals, neat and scary to mess with. "Wait here, I'll just change." I nodded as I sat in the high chair of the middle counter top. An entire ding-ding is still glass. The chaotic city is a sight to behold. My heart is kind of jumping in joy, this is my exact type of place. You feel like you don't care about the whole world even though you know its mess. And he said my place is nice? Really? What other word can I use in his place? "What do you want to eat?" I was shocked to see him in front of the counter top. Hands are erect and have already changed into a plain v-neck shirt. I was too distracted to look outside. Her eyes widened as she read her lower lip. For some reasons I feel like my heart is tickling seeing him in front of me. In. his. damn. place. I guess this is the only place where he doesn't look like garbage. He look expensive as well as his place. "Whatever." He chuckled a little. Bringing his hand to my frizzy and curly hair, he pinned it behind my ear. "What do you mean anything?" "Anything that you want to cook." "Uh-huh?" His tone was so tender that it made my heart beat faster. His eyes are holding my heart and I feel like anytime I'm gonna explode. I sniffed and nodded. "Wait here." He reached for me and kissed my forehead before turning his back at me. It was as if a warm hand held my heart as I watched him busy with his own world. I frowned as I stared at him, tracing his wide shoulders, muscular back down to his ... "Yes?" My eyes widened when he turned his back and looked at me. His side of the lips rose. "Stop checking me out." "W-what?" He just smirked and tuned his back again. I scratched my forehead, damn! He even caught me! I don't know how I overcame not giving up on my stare at him while he was cooking. While he put something on his big oven, he busied himself with cooking on the stove. When I feel like he's done I immediately averted my gaze and moved to the penetrating glass. I could feel him approaching me, like an oscars awardee actor, I shifted my gaze to him and pretended to just now look at him. "You're done?" There was a playful look on his lips as he watched to me, carrying two plates with only different vegetables. "Not yet, I'm waiting for the steak to cook." I nodded and nodded. He went to the end of the kitchen and when he opened it I saw a few rows of wine. He got a bottle and went back in my direction. Two wine glasses were also brought. He filled a glass but he didn't fill the other one. I smiled inwardly. Isn't it funny that in small things you feel important? Like he knew that I don't drink alcohol that's why ... I just followed his movements, he went to the fridge and grabbed a big bottle that I think was grape juice. He poured it into the other glass, then laid it down in front of me. "Thank you." I sipped a little. His expression remained the same. I didn't know what to do again. "What does it taste?" His eyebrows furrowed. Why don't I ask if there are mosquitoes here? "That ..." I pointed to his glass. "Lucy and Olivia loves to drink, I don't get them." "Stop being curious, you're not allowed to drink." He said emphatically. "Of course I am! I'm right of age." "I can see that." He said sparingly as he stared me in the eye. I averted my gaze. I don't know how to prolong this conversation just so that no angel passes by the two of us. "Yeah, but I chose not to. The last time I drunk alcohol I got traumatized by the taste." "So you did drink?" There was a streak of irritation in his voice. "Yeah, twice I think? When they took Lucy to the bar-" "Bar?" His voice rose and I really stopped there. "U-uh, yes? Why?" He averted his gaze and I could see the clenching of his jaw. He sipped to his glass again before answering me. "If you don't want it you don't have to drink. No one's pursuing you do things you don't want." I just pursed my lips and nodded. I lowered my gaze to his lips as he wet it again. It turned red because of what he did. I was licked by my own lips. His eyes were dark when mine met. I drank the juice again and I just took one gulp of it and it ran out as well. His intense eyes made me weak. I must have been out of my mind? He stood up and took the steak he had put in the oven. He laid down in the space of our plate the meat he had cooked. The fragrance is making my stomach grumble. I looked at him in amazement and had a small smile on his lips. "Do you want to eat here or in the dining table?" "Just here." The sadness of the seats there is when there are only two of us to eat. A bite of the meat and it tastes like home. It was as if a week of shaking after eating chicken salad was gone. I breathed out the heat of it. I laughed a little meeting his eyes. He cocked his head. I nodded and said nothing because of the main mouth. He just laughed too and continued eating. "How was your day?" I parted the hair that was blocking my face. I looked at him as I dug into my bag looking for a tie in my hair. "Fine. How about you?" I tied my hair up as I looked at him. "Fine too, I'll take care of your leave. Extend it, you need to rest." I shook violently, consuming the food in my mouth. He just frowned as he waited for me to speak. "I'm good. I'm used to this kind of schedule. Besides I'll be filing a leave next week, I'll be meeting Justine." "Justine." I gulped, the mats dark he told us to meet. "Yes, m-my friend. He's coming back from New York and he asked me out ..." "A friend will never asked you out." My stomach grew cold at his tone I could not understand. "It's just a simple dinner, friends always do that. Like us, right now!" His jaw clenched and he turned his gaze darkly to my food. "If you're worrying that someone will see us out, don't be. I can manage." His lips rose but then it did not reach his eyes. He breathed deeply and my food almost caught fire in the heat of his stare. "Do whatever you want then." He seemed to be holding back his patience from breaking so that was all he said. My throat went dry to see him like that. My mind was troubled again because of what he had done. It was as if I felt a pinch in my heart to see him like that. I don't want to think he's jealous because that's vague! I don't want to hope because my thinking is vague. Why would he be jealous if he has a fiancee hiding somewhere in Earth !? I reached for the glass by my side and gulped it down. He turned to me quickly and when I finished I winced at the taste. Ugh! "What's this !?" Bitterness left in my throat as I stared at the empty glass now. "Baby, that's my drink." I still feel dizzy from what he said. That's half of the glass! He snatched the glass and filled my glass with juice actually. It's not possible, I lose myself every time I'm with him. "I'm fine. It's okay! I-I can!" I lifted the glass filled with juice again and drank it. I quickly chewed my food and consumed it. I can feel his intense gaze in me in the few minutes I spend eating. I was even more dizzy with the mixed feeling.
