Again, she found herself standing in this strange dark room. Silently, stood a tall figure, staring down at her with those smoldering silver eyes, eyes that sent shivers through her body.
No!
she screamed internally as he walked towards her and subconsciously, she took a step back. She continued to retreat until her back hit the cold wall. He smirked and she gulped.
Suddenly,a warm fingertip brushed her chin and she flinched. She wanted to move away from him but she couldn't. Her body betrayed her.
As his warm finger traced down to her neck, she shut her eyes, hoping she could wake up from this nightmare. Having this stranger so close to her didn't go well. Suddenly she felt a tight grip around her jaw, he raised her head, so she was facing him.
"Look at me," He said.
But she shut her eyes tightly.
"Open your eyes" He commanded. His grip on her jaw tightened.
Her eyes fluttered open and her eyes widened upon seeing how close their faces were to each other.
She could clearly see the outline of his face. The strong jawline, his straight nose and his captivating silver eyes that shone in the dark. It wasn't the first time she had seen them. She had been in this strange room many times before.
At first when she would find herself in this strange place, she would find him hiding in the shadows, just watching her. She always wanted to ask who he was but she never had the courage to.
He leaned in closer and she stilled, her heart beating rapidly.
What was he about to do? she asks in her mind.
He smirked, before lowering his head, his hair falling over his face as he trailed his nose along her slender neck, inhaling her scent and sending shivers down her spine.
No! No!
She cried but no sound came out.
"Come find me" He muttered near her ears. but Before she could react, her eyes shot open and she found herself staring at the ceiling in her room. she was back to reality, she continued to stare until her mother's voice reached ears.
"Clara! wake up"
Clara jumped down from her bed realizing it was morning and she was running late for school.
Clara wasn't a morning person and the nightmares just made everything worse, not that she liked high school but she was glad that she would be graduating very soon.
"Clara get down here now" Her mom shouted and Clara quickly snapped out her drowsiness.
rushing into the bathroom,she had a quick bath, brush her teeth and put on her decent clothes and she rushed down stairs to meet her mom already sitting on the dining table eating breakfast,
"Come have breakfast," said her mom.
"I'm running late, mom. I will have to skip breakfast" Clara replied.
"No! you must eat breakfast. Clara you need to learn to take care of yourself and breakfast is Very important." he mom lectured.
"I know" she sighed, walking back to the dining table.
''that's my girl" her mom smiled.
Rolling her eyes, Clara dragged a chair and took a seat. She grabbed some pancakes and sent them into her mouth before drinking the glass of milk. Placing the empty cup back on the table, Clara stood on her feet and kisses her Mother mother on the cheek before setting off for school.
She had to walk down to school because she had already missed the school bus, not that she cared but lakewood high is about 25 minutes walk from her house.
Clara Michael. A student of Lakewood High, grade 12, final semester. Her grades are great and she was still trying to figure out what to do after high school. Most of her peers talked about getting into prestigious universities but she just wanted to be a fashion designer. Clara had always loved fashion and beautiful dresses.
30 minutes later, Clara arrived at Lakewood High and her besties waiting for her outside the school premises.
Her friends were good kids like her
Gina is 17, tall and slender with ebony skin, beautiful with long legs, she is smart and very talk active, while Raya is 17, chubby with a great sense of humor, she's also a beauty and a foodie.
Clara walked towards them with a smile on my face.
"Hi guys" Clara greeted.
"What took you so long? we have been waiting here for you" Gina said and Clara nodded.
"I'm sorry I woke up a little late today," Said Clara, scratching the back of her head.
"Yeah again with the same excuses..Clara you are always late C" Raya rolled her eyes. While they talked, the school bell bagan to ring. Students were seen going to different classes.
We should head to class" Gina said and they walked to their classroom. After taking her seat, Clara searched for Kyle who she hasn't seen anywhere since she entered the classroom.
"Hey! Have you seen Kyle? He's not in class" Clara asked Gina, who was sitting behind her.
He caught the flu this morning so he won't be attending classes today. Gina replied with a tone that says " serves him right" .
Kyle is a cool guy, annoyingly handsome, He's also one of Clara's besties, he's the quiet type. Everytime Clara and her other two friends got into trouble at school or home. it's always Kyle to the rescue, he's a genius, The best part is Gina and Kyle seems to always be at loggerheads.
Gina will bicker and argue with Kyle over almost everything while Kyle on the other hand would smirk and mock.
Few moments later the English teacher Mrs Piper showed up and started to bore the kids with her lectures that made few kids including Clara feel sleepy.
After some a few hours, Classes were finally over and time to head back home.
"Damn it. Clara, I can't believe exams are less than a week," Raya yelled and tugged at her hair in frustration. I haven't even prepared enough.
"Relax Raya the sooner this is over the, better for all of us," Clara said while packing her books into her school bag.
"And Don't forget that we already have our vacation planned out. " she said with a grin making Raya glow excitedly.
Gina who was talking to a guy she admired in class came running to them with a smile on her face.
"Clara! Gina! I can hardly wait. I heard they have a wonderful landscape and great climate.
"Oh my gosh can you imagine being on the beach and bathing in the warmth from the sun" Gina blabbed on and on about the town, she had that dreamy face.
Clara and Raya stood speechless, wondering how their friend who was standing away from them was able to hear what they were talking about. They just stared at her dreamy face in amazement without offering a reply.
"What? Why are you guys staring at me like that? "Gina asks.
"Nothing," They replied in unison.
unsatisfied with their response, Gina stared back at them suspiciously.
"Let's go," Clara said, hanging her bag on her shoulder.
Clara wanted so much to go on this vacation and she wanted the final exams to come and go so she could relax and prepare her mind for her future. and maybe do some research on the fashion school she wanted to apply for.
All she wanted is a quiet place, away from highschool, a place different from the busy lakewood city.
After spending more than half of her day in school and with her Friends, Clara retired to her bed, home alone, it has always been this way for as long as she could remember.
Her Mother, Flora Michael was a surgeon, and Clara never knew her dad. He died when she was barely six months old. so she was told.
Clara has always been curious about her father, she wanted to know more about him, but her Mom didn't even leave a single picture of him, and she never wanted to talk about him so Clara stopped asking, seeing how sensitive the topic was to her Mother.
But that didn't stop Clara from missing and imagining how it would have felt to have a father in her life.
Clara sighed helplessly, all the same ,she was grateful for having a mother and her Mom was the sweetest thing in this world. After hours of laying in bed Clara felt really dizzy and drifted off to sleep.
Opening her eyes, Clara found herself standing in the middle of a strange place occupied with tall trees and bushes. The sky was bright and clear, but not a single bird was chirping or flying in the sky, which was so weird. The silence was threatening, and Clara shivered.
She surveyed her surroundings in surprise, still trying to figure out how she got there, the last thing she remembered was laying in her bed.
Looking left to right trying to find her way around in order to find help or anyone who she could ask for help. Without knowing the right direction to go, she started walking further into the woods.
When suddenly she heard the sounds of twigs breaking along with a low vicious growl.
Clara snapped her head to the direction where the sound came, and there stood a creature, so beautiful yet terrifying at the same time, with black fur, a fur as thick as darkness, it had a silver patch on the left ear and a pair of silver eyes, eyes that gaze right into her.
Clara was struck with fear, too terrified to run or cry for help, she stared back into it's silver eyes, her heart pounding frantically as she imagined this to be her end, she knew running was only a waste of time.
She stood, trembling and weakened to a spot.
The black wolf began slowly to approach her and with every step it took a shiver ran down her spine.
Once it got close enough, the creature paused and growled even louder.
Barring its sharp canines at Clara, scaring the wits out of her then it started to go round her in circles.
Clara has never been this terrified her whole life. She cursed her life and fate, asking herself how exactly she got there in the first place.
Clara gathered enough courage and decided to run for her life even though she knew it's going to be futile she still had to make an attempt.
Finally she moved her feet in an attempt to run but her legs were too weak and they gave way, she fell to the ground, looking more terrified and then she raised her head only to see the wolf sprinting towards her in full speed and then it pounced on her, Clara scremed.
"Clara! Clara! Clara! Wake up" Her Mom called out, shaking her shoulder to pull her out of her dreams. Clara's eyes fluttered before she opened them, her breath still heavy, thick sweats had formed on her forehead. She Looked around the room for the scary creature before her gaze finally landed on her mom, who was sitting on her bed with her hands on Clara's shoulder.
"Mom" she called before throwing herself into her mother's arms and her mother hugged her tightly.
"It's just a dream sweetheart, you don't have to be scared, I'm right here with you" she comforted.
Clara took deep breaths to calm herself and gradually her breath went back to normal and she fell back asleep in her mom's arms.
