Clara ignores her friend's curious eyes and focuses on enjoying the warm breeze and the sound of waves as it forces its way to the shore.
Her mind was in turmoil, seeing Xander had made her realize something, something she long for but knew deep down was impossible.
Who was he? The silver eyed person, and we're he? These thoughts ran through her mind. She had thought coming here would help her focus on her life, but arriving in this place had awakened some sort of feeling she wasn't able to design.
For some reason she felt a strong pull, like she was being called out by something, but what?. All kinds of thoughts and questions flooded Clara's mind.
They waited to watch the beautiful sunset before she and her friends went back to their apartment.
Meanwhile Xander and his wolf were having a heated conversation in his head.
"Why wait till she accepts us, let's claim her forcefully," his wolf named Bardulf suggested and Xander gritted his teeth as he battled for control.
"You know we can't do that, it will jeopardize our plans" he said but his wolf was getting more agitated.
"Why not? Oh don't tell me you are scared, I always knew you were weak and good for nothing" Bardulf spat before shutting Xander out.
Werewolves were able to control their wolves or at least they maintained a mutual understanding. But Xander's case was different. His mind had been totally corrupted by his wolf.
Bardulf had always been in total control and had been the Mastermind behind every evil plot and cruelty Xander displayed, it was a master and slave relationship. Bardulf has made sure to be careful and stayed unnoticed by other pack members as corrupted werewolves were sentenced to death.
Xander shut his eyes to gain some control over himself, his thoughts traveled back to the emerald eyed girl he met earlier. An unknown emotion flashed in his eyes before he shut them only to reveal his yellow wolf eyes.
"We should go kill some worthless humans to calm our mind," Bardulf suggested, a smirk displaying on his lips.
Xander allowed Bardulf take over and then shifted in his wolf, revealing Bardulf golden brown fur, his yellow eyes showing nothing but cruelty as he sprinted.
He ran for hours before they reached the human communities. Bardulf lurked behind the woods using the night as a cover, waiting for the first unfortunate person to pass by.
As expected, a couple was taking their evening stroll along the sidewalks when Bardulf leaped out of the woods and pounced on one of the couple, dragging him back into the woods with his teeth, devouring the man, tearing, scratching and gruesomely biting the man. Inflicting as much damage as possible. Ignoring the helpless cry of help from the female who was too scared to venture into the dark woods.
Gradually the man took his last breath.
Bardulf howled in satisfaction, ravishing the taste of blood in his mouth and the stench of death that emanated from the lifeless body that laid under his paws.
Bardulf turned away from the lifeless body and ran further into the woods, leaving the remains for whoever cared enough for it.
Meanwhile, Drake had walked into Skyler prison pretending to carry the usual silver syringe and mashed potatoes in a tray.
Skyler felt better as he wasn't taking the usual daily dose of silver injections that weaken his wolf. Skyler was still unable to communicate with moon, his wolf but he knew he would be hearing from him soon.
"I did what you told me to" Drake spoke first, dropping the tray on a flat surface.
Good" Skyler nodded.
"I should be out of here in a few days" he muttered to himself, his silver eyes sparkled at the thought of freedom.
Drake brought out a perfectly roasted meat he had snuck into the prison, feeding Skyler with it as his hand remained chained to each side of the wall.
"It's very tasty," Skyler commented, shaking his head in approval.
Drake chuckled upon seeing how Skyler moaned to the taste. He couldn't blame the man, he had been locked here, almost starved to death by that monster, himself included.
"My sister made it, she's a good cook" Drake said with a wide grin. After feeding water to Skyler, he made his way out of the prison to avoid suspicion of any kind. He feared that any wrong move would jeopardize their plans and he and his sister would remain stuck in the world of rogue, stuck was an understatement, they could likely be killed.
Drake set the tray aside and went to stand at his usual spot at the entrance of the tunnel.
Emmet and his two sidekicks walked in through the entrance, sending hard glares to Drake at his duty post as they walked past him.
Drake fought the urge to roll his eyes at them, " I have never met anyone more annoying and disgusting," hissed Lucius, Drake's wolf.
Yeah! Thought so too" replied Drake.
He stayed at his duty post for hours, engaging in small conversations with his wolf who constantly snickered at the other rogues.
Time went by quickly and Drake got off his duty and headed for their shabby Looking house.
He met Margaret, she was sitting quietly at the corner of the room, she folded her knees and brought them to her chest, she sobbed silently but drake was able to pick up the silent whimpers with his heightened werewolf hearing.
Drake strode to where she was, crouching down to her level and lifting his hands to her bruised face before he tucked the red strands of hair behind her ear.
She stared back at him with eyes full of sorrow.
"Why" she whispers, tears dripping from her eyes and down her cheeks.
"Everything will be over soon, I will get you, us out of here" he said.
Hearing Drake's promise, Margaret sobbed harder, she was the older one and the one who is supposed to care for him, but it was the other way around. She felt guilty and disgusted by herself.
Despite Emmet's cruelty toward her and Drake, she still found herself loving and wanting him. Waiting for the day he would change and see her for who she was. She knew she wasn't being fair to drake and she hated it.
Drake hugged his sister and he let her cry in his arms, his heart ached for his sister and his eyes blazed. He was determined to get his sister out of here even if it cost him his life.
When morning came Clara jolted awake by her buzzing cell phone.
She groaned softly before reaching for the phone and pressing the okay button.
Mom" she called softly.
"Yes sweetie How are you?".
"Mom, I'm fine," She sighed.
"Good, just checking in to see how you're doing, I love you" her mom said before ending the call.
Clara dropped the phone and climbed out of bed.
She walked to the table at the corner of the room, she pick up a diary, opening the cover and turning the pages to where she wrote '' to do list"
Hiking was the second on the to do list
They were going hiking today.
She wasn't as excited as she was about the beach but she still loves to walk up and down the hills.
Quickly she dashed into Bathroom for a quick bath before changing into a black leggings and gray T-shirt with a pair of black waterproof hiking boots.
She grabbed the sunscreen and applied it on the exposed areas of her body before walking out of the room to meet her friends who were already waiting for her in the living room.
