Athena Lemiere
I opened my eyes because my phone rang so loudly. I got up slowly and walked towards my table to open my bag taking my phone out. It's Xander and I smiled before picking up the phone.
"Hey."
"Am I waking you up?" He asked.
"No.. No." I lied.
"How are you feeling now?" He asked as I laid again on my bed.
"A little better, how about you?" I asked him back.
"Yeah.. getting a little better after a long sleep." He said and I chuckled.
"Our dad knew, Athena." My body froze that second.
"What?"
"Our dad knew.. about us.. going on a date." I took a really deep breath and closed my eyes trying to calm my ass down.
"And then?"
"He's okay." I let out a breath of relief.
"But that's your dad! How about mine?" I asked and he laughed.
"Chill, Matthew's cool with it too. I mean that's what my dad said."
"Oh shoot!" Suddenly I remembered how the Redent wanted to unite Lemiere and Redent together. I narrowed my eyes because of it. Is he using me to get what his dad's wants?
"Can I call you later? I don't feel good." I said lying because I don't want to feel weird and suspicious.
"Sure." He said and I ended the call. I walked to the window to check if my dad's home or he's still in the office. His car is here so he's already home. I walked out from my room and walked to my dad's studies but before I can knock.. I heard my mom and dad having an argument.
"Matthew, she's still young and Xander is still young. They can fall in love." My mom said.
"Fall in love? Athena is 17 years old and she's still a kid. Besides, Redent kept talking about uniting our companies again and again every time we meet. Maybe this is one of his plans." My dad said.
"Matthew, you don't know that! What if Xander really likes Athena?"
"Scarlette, Xander is a damn playboy. I know that kid is a player!" My dad bursted in an angry tone.
"We don't know the truth yet so don't jump into conclusion! They went on a date once so stop overreacting!"
"Scarlette, you don't understand! I want to protect my daughter and that asshole will hurt my daughter sooner or later!" I sighed hearing it.
"Matt.. please. Athena is a teenager, let her make her own decisions. If Xander is a playboy or maybe a douchebag, Athena will find it out herself. I know you love her, I do love her but sometimes we need to give her the chance to judge and make her own decisions." My mom said and I felt so relieved that I have an awesome mom.
"Jordan gave me the idea of arranged marrying our kids, Scarlette and in his brain, there's Chase and Athena. Chase with Eva or Xander with Athena. He asked me to play along and offer me a lot of things. I rejected it.. of course but maybe this is his plans.. that's why he shut his mouth when he knew about this date!" My dad bursted angrily when he said the last sentence.
"You're spying on Athena?" My mom asked and I'm curious too.
"Caleb was driving towards the house when he saw Xander's car was going away from our house. He asked me if I was talking to Xander but I didn't so of course I found out about it.. and even ask Wesley to find out about it."
"Matthew.." My mom sighed.
"Listen Scarlette, the boat that they used that night.. you can't use it without Jordan's permission because that boat usually for business purpose and private use. It's impossible for Xander to use it without his dad knowing." Oh my God.
"Matthew, you don't know the real scenario." My mom said.
"Scarlette, I'm trying to protect Athena here. She's like a blank paper, she never dated someone.. she never fall in love with someone.. If she wants to fall in love, I want her so fall in love with someone who is capable for her. Xander is not on that list.. he's a playboy and I bet he has a tons of girls in his phone that he's contacting right now." My dad is right.
"She's a Lemiere, Scarlette. She deserves better and I know.. that guy is no better. She will hurt her and I will not hesitate to kill him if I see my daughter crying because of him!"
"Matthew, you don't know the truth. You can't judge people like that."
"I know this will sound rude but I hacked his phone, Scarlette. He's texting 4 other girls and even text one girl to meet him on the rooftop at 11. Why do you think he sent that? I used to be young and I know what that means.. even you know what that means." I never thought Xander will be like this. Why did he lie to me? Why did he give me all this tingling and amazing feeling when all he did was lying? I can't believe he trapped me so easily and so fast.
I walked back towards my room and silently locked the door. I turned off my phone and put it on my table. I laid on my bed and stared at my ceilings. I can't believe Xander betrayed me like that.
How dare he mess with my feelings? It felt so real and so.. genuine. It felt like he was really into me when all he did was acting. Wow, he's sure a great actor. I can't believe this. I really can't.
He used me and how dare he use me..
My hands turned into a fist and I took a really deep breath to calm my anger. You'll see Xander, I'm not the type of girl that you can play with. You will regret messing with me.
