Switch in Chapter 65

...Dickinson pov… I sat in silence next to Emile, the room enveloped in an uncomfortable stillness. We had been sitting like this for what felt like an eternity, our thoughts drifting in and out, the only sound the occasional rustle of fabric as we shifted in our seats. Don't you think it is time to go home Emile said as her eyes looked at the wall clock. "Uh… I don't mean it that way," she added as if sensing my discomfort, my face twitched. ask"Are you pursuing me?" I couldn't help but ask. " From my house? I added. "No," she said softly. "It's just that my mom will be worried about her pregnant daughter who hasn't called since today." "Fine, fine," I said, relenting. " But I'll stay a little longer. I haven't gotten used to such a life after living in so much luxury for a long time." Did I really hear you say that her mouth twitched and her eyebrows or probably my eyebrows raised up and settled in a slanted position. "No not like that but it's just that it's not easy to adapt". I let out a small sigh of relief, grateful that she understood. We sat there in silence for a few more minutes before I finally stood up and said, "I really think we should get your make-up in place". She said, … Emile POV… As I led Dickinson up the stairs, she started whining, "I'm not tired yet. Can't we stay up a little longer?" I smiled, knowing that this was typical Dickinson behavior. "Sure, we can stay up a little longer. Let me do your make-up.""Dickinson, can you take me to your wife's room?" I asked tentatively, hoping that she wouldn't be offended by my request. Dickinson looked at me for a moment, her expression unreadable, before nodding silently and leading me down the hallway. We walked in silence, our footsteps echoing off the wooden floors, until we reached a door at the end of the corridor. Dickinson pushed it open, revealing a room that took my breath away. The room was bathed in soft, golden light, which filtered in through the lace curtains that adorned the windows. The walls were painted a pale pink, with delicate white flowers scattered throughout. The air was perfumed with the sweet scent of lavender, and I felt my muscles relax as soon as I stepped inside. The bed was the centerpiece of the room, a large four-poster covered in white linen and decorated with fluffy pillows and a thick duvet. I could tell that the bed was well-loved, with the sheets slightly rumpled and a teddy bear sitting in the center. The room was filled with feminine touches, from the plush rug on the floor to the delicate china tea set sitting on the bedside table. The curtains were adorned with intricate lacework, and the walls were decorated with delicate paintings of flowers and birds. As I walked around the room, I couldn't help but feel envious of the woman who lived here. The room was a sanctuary, a place of peace and tranquility, and I could imagine spending hours here, reading and relaxing. "Dickinson, your wife's room is beautiful," I said softly, turning to face her. Dickinson nodded, her eyes softening. "She always loved this room. She would spend hours decorating it and adding little touches here and there. She had a talent for making things beautiful. Dickinson sat down in front of the mirror, her eyes meeting mine in the reflection. I could see a mixture of anticipation and anxiety in her expression, and I knew that doing her makeup was more than just a routine task for her. It was a chance to transform, to become someone new, if only for a little while. I began by removing any excess oil from her skin, using a cotton pad and toner to gently wipe her face clean. Dickinson watched intently, her eyes following my movements as I moved on to the next step. Next, I applied a light layer of foundation, blending it carefully to make sure that it matched her skin tone. Dickinson's skin was delicate and soft, and I took care to be gentle as I worked, not wanting to hurt her in any way. As I worked, Dickinson began to relax, her body sinking into the chair. She closed her eyes, letting out a contented sigh as I added a touch of blush to her cheeks. I could tell that she was enjoying the pampering, the chance to be taken care of by someone else. Next came the eyes. I chose a soft pink eyeshadow, carefully blending it onto Dickinson's lids. I could see her face begin to light up as she watched herself in the mirror, the transformation already starting to take place. I added a thin layer of eyeliner, accentuating Dickinson's beautiful green eyes. I could feel her body beginning to tense up as I worked, and I knew that this was the part she was most anxious about. "Don't worry, Dickinson," I said softly, as I began to apply mascara to her lashes. "You're doing great. You look beautiful." Dickinson smiled at me through the mirror, her eyes crinkling at the corners. "Thank you, Emile," she said softly. "You always know how to make me feel better." As I finished up her makeup, I added a touch of lip gloss to Dickinson's lips, making them shine like rose petals in the sun. She looked absolutely stunning, her beauty enhanced by the gentle touch of the makeup. "Wow," I said, as I looked at myself in the mirror. "I look...I look amazing. Thank you, Emile." I smiled at her, feeling a warmth spreading through my chest. "You're welcome, Dickinson," she said, my voice soft. "You deserve to feel beautiful," she said as I grinned while blinking my eyes. He rolled his feminine eyes and probably didn't want to pay attention to the meaning behind that. "I will just take this and go to your house and find a way to fix this and you stay here and don't go anywhere or do anything suspicious without discussing it". He pointed out while tilting his head. "Same applies to you", I replied. I stepped out of the mansion after waving goodbye to Emile, who had reminded me to be careful with my heels. I groaned inwardly at the thought of having to navigate the treacherous cobblestone path in my stilettos. As I made my way outside, I spotted a taxi and quickly flagged it down. The driver greeted me and commented on my appearance, asking if I had done my makeup myself. I scowled, my irritation at his comment evident. Why did men always feel the need to comment on my appearance? I was more than just a pretty face. "Focus on the road," I snapped at him, hoping to dissuade any further small talk. The driver seemed to get the hint and focused on driving. As we drove along, I couldn't help but feel a sense of relief. The mansion had been suffocating, and I was glad to be out of its stuffy confines. I was looking forward to a night out, even if it meant having to deal with lecherous men. "Stop me at that bar," I said, pointing to a brightly lit establishment on the roadside. The driver nodded and pulled up outside the bar. As I stepped out of the taxi, I felt a rush of excitement. The bar was bustling with people, and the sound of laughter and music filled the air. I made my way inside and immediately felt at home. The dimly lit interior, the thrum of music, and the smell of alcohol were all familiar to me. I looked around the bar, I couldn't help but notice some new changes since the last time I had been here. The dimly lit interior was still the same, with its dark wood paneling and exposed brick walls, but there were some new additions that caught my eye. The first thing that struck me was the bar itself. It had been updated with new fixtures and a sleek, modern design. The bartender was mixing drinks behind it, his movements fluid and practiced. The seating had also been updated, with new booths and tables scattered throughout the space. The booths were cozy and inviting, with soft leather seats and plush cushions. I could imagine myself sinking into one and staying there all night. The lighting had been changed as well, with new pendant lights hanging from the ceiling, casting a warm, inviting glow over the room. The new lights added to the ambiance of the bar, making it feel more welcoming and intimate. I Stepped in and looked around, I noticed that the bar was busier than usual. There were more people than I remembered, and the air was thick with the sound of conversation and laughter. The music was louder too, pulsing through the room and adding to the energetic atmosphere
