After my uncomfortable night filled with pains, I turn to see Nate discussion at the balcony like a thief whispering with his stare fixed in my direction.
It's clear that he is monitoring me but why, why does he keep acting this way. Like he is hiding something away from me and I must find it out.
He walks in with a smile, “Good morning baby, how was your night.” perks me and seat by me
“I'm not feeling fine Nate, things are getting worse. I feel too dizzy. I can't even get out of bed to go help your mum in the kitchen what will she think of me.”
“Don't bother about her, she has a maid to help her for such and she is a better alone trust me. Just rest, I will ask mum to send everything up to you.”
“No, she will think I'm lazy. Take me to the hospital and let me deal with this once and for all. I'm sick of being this weak.”
“Ok, rest first.”
“No, take me down. I want to help your mum. Nate, I insist.” “Fine!” he helps me out of the bed and he takes me to the kitchen where his mum is.
“Nate, can you see that she isn't feeling fine?. Why are you taking her down?”
“She insisted, and I think you can best understand her situation.” with that said he leaves the kitchen and he goes and seat outside to take some fresh air.
As soon as he leaves I throw up in “Sorry, I'm so sorry.” “Dint bother about it. It's a normal state of your condition”
“Which stage? Which condition?”
“Don't mind me, I will make you a nice drink my mum use to make for me and it will reduce the nausea.” age smile. “Thank you!” I nod.
In the EVening, were all seated outside after eating drinking sometimes but I was drinking the special drink made by Nates mother. Nate didn't allow me to touch alcohol, he keeps acting like my mum and I hate it.
However, the drink she made wasn't bad as I expected it to be. We discuss laugh the hell out of us.
“Nate was the stubborn type at school but very calm at home, he was so scared of his late father.” she laughs
“Oh, why Nate?” I tease him. He barely grins, he wasn't part of our discussion, his mind is far.
“Excuse me, I have to check the cookies.” she leaves.
“Nate, what's wrong with you?. I hate when you act like this.”
“Dint bother about me.” he kisses me on my forehead then he leaves.
His mum comes back “The cookies are ready.” but I leave without responding and I follow Nate.
“Okay.” she turns back to the kitchen with the tray.
“Nate!” I follow him into the room yelling his name “Tell me what is wrong. I'm feeling something isn't right so tell me. Open up to me.”
He turns like he is ready to open, “Came be calm?.” he takes me to bed and we seat “Trust me I will let you know when the RIght time comes okay?”
“If you say so.” I nod while climbs on the bed to sleep “When are we going to the hospital?. I told you I'm not feeling ok, but it seems not to bother you.”
“It those, I will call a doctor home to examine you. Don't bother now climb in bed and huge ne tight.”
I climb and I hug him tightly. He gaps in relief.
Whether he calls a doctor home or not, tomorrow morning I'm going to the hospital, I told myself.
I check him a few minutes later and he is asleep, I suddenly feel hungry so I go downstairs to have something to eat. I remember his mum was making cookies.
I walk into the kitchen, I on the light and I shudder in fear. I find his mum drinking in the darkness “I hope I didn't scare you.” she turns in my direction as soon as I ow the light.
Why the hell will she be drinking in darkness?.
“It's an old habit, don't mind me.” she walks to me “What brings you down?” She asks.
“I need to put something in my mouth,” I exclaim. “Oh, I understand, what about nausea?” she searches, I guess for food. She takes out the cookies from the oven and milk out of the freezer.
She fixes everything on the table “Come.” she gave to me. I move to her, and she places me on the chair “You can have this.” she seats by me.
“Thank you, you are such a nice woman.” I nod.
“For nothing, you make my son a complete man. I'm the one to be grateful to you. With time you will understand.” she says with so much confidence.
“I know, he loves you. He has never been this intimate with a woman like he is with you. I'm not talking of sex… I mean the connection between you guys is incredible.“
She renders me speechless like why on earth will she tell me all this?. I'm not her son’s wife. OMG…
“I know you must be wondering what I'm telling you all this… I don't even know why… I just feel as telling you and for you to always keep in my that Dickinson loves you, no matter what happens don't ever leave him.”
“You're Scaring me now,” I murmur
“Don't be…” she clenches my hand which is places on the take. She gently taps it and withdraws her hand “Eat.” she adds.
I was still holding the cookie near my lips, I had forgotten to bite it since I was listening to her. I finally chew it and it's just “Wow, your cookies are nice, Mrs” I smile.
“I'm happy you love them. Also, let me know inausea comes back.” she gets up from where she is seated “I will be in my room if you need me.” with that said she leaves.
I move to the room once I'm done eating. Tired.
As soon as I enter the room I see Nates phone vibration and this intrigues me. I move to the bed yet my mind tells me to check his phone. I battle so hard with myself not to check.
But my curiosity winds over my principal. I take his phone I try to unlock it in vain. I check, and he is sleeping deeply. So I take his finger and I unlock the phone.
The phone opens in the gallery app, swipe. Surprisingly I see many of my pictures on his phone like when the hell did he snap all these pictures. He has more pictures of me than I have of my life.
Like, wow. They are all beautiful. I never knew he was this a great photograph. I get stuck in the beautiful pictures that I forget to search for what I was planning to.
I move to his message app I see I pile of Massages and my eyes dip on this name “Dr Jone” same name as my doctor. I hit on their messages and I start reading.
Tears helplessly flow down my cheek, I drop his phone and I run into the bathroom, I turn on the water and I begin to cry the hell out of me. I don't want him to hear me.
I cry for a very long time before I stop the shower. I whip my tears and I walk down to the parlour to sleep.
I try so hard to have a nap in vain. It seems like every single atom of sleep has escaped my eyes.
I move out to the compound and I stroll think about what I would probably do and I'm just helpless. How could he do this to me? To think I ever thought of fate love, destined lover.
Meanwhile, everything was been calculated, but what was I thinking that such a man will have any interest in me if it's not to take advantage of me?.
Mum warned me but I didn't listen, even his wife came to me but I still didn't listen.
I seat on the cold grasses and I soak in my tears.
When the cold starts getting too harsh on me, I walk into the parlour where I fall asleep without realising it.
