I held two glasses of white wine as I walked out of Edde's mini bar which he has warned me countless times not to tamper with, but I guess I would always have a reason to thwart his orders.
Mr Reluc has already gone back to Paris since morning and ever since, it was just me and Melanie. The nanny Miss Brooke is with Grey, the house feels empty like it's lacking something in it or maybe someone.
It really is, by the way.
It was night already, me and Melanie had our simple dinner some hours ago, so did Grey and everyone else. I needed some chill time with my bestie as this night would probably be our last night together, she will be going back to New York tomorrow.
"Hey Mel, turn down the volume of the movie. Grey is finally sleeping" I said as I handed her a glass of wine and sat next to her.
"So… You will also leave me behind tomorrow" I said letting out an uneasy chuckle as she sat, crossing her legs in the Muslim style on the couch and facing me with a smile on her face.
"We will always video call and all that, you shouldn't be bothered. You have Grey to keep you company right?" She said as I nodded gently.
"Right, even if he is just a tiny baby. He keeps me busy for real but… I'm fine anyways" I uttered, faking a smile as she took a deep breath and took my hands into hers in a soothing manner.
"I have something to tell you, I know that you will hate me for it but I still have to tell you… It keeps haunting my conscience" she said calmly as I cleared my throat curiously now facing her fully.
"Tell me, I promise not to react wrongly".
"I terminated the pregnancy, I couldn't handle being rejected by Luca and also my father's brutality. My father would have killed me if he found out!" She said and broke into tears, I was truly hurt. I had imagined Grey and Melanie's child being a thing in the future. I was happy that my bestie and I will have more things in common but… Here.
I couldn't bring myself to judge her either, she did what she did for her own good. I know her father quite well and I know that he expects alot from Melanie, she is to take over his company and basically everything that he has achieved, hearing that his child is pregnant will only break him.
Her mother isn't the type to stand up against her husband, she obliges to every of his commands, Luca being a bastard isn't to be talked about. I wish him death.
"Come on Mel" I said pulling her into my arms as she wets my cloth with her tears, it hurts to see Melanie broken. It's making the room suffocating for me. "I'm better than judging you, if no one understands you and your decisions, I do and… Don't ever say that you were rejected. I can never reject you, you mean the world to me, you stand by me always and I swear to always stand by you huh?" I said as I caressed her hair gently. "You really should stop crying, you terminated the pregnancy anyways. You can't change that, I blame Luca for all of these".
"At least I would have told you, I didn't want you to stop me" She sobbed as I sighed.
"It's fine, you just have to promise never to hide anything from me again" I said as she nodded.
"I promise, Luca sent an apology letter to me anyways" she added as I pulled her out of my arms curiously.
"What did he say?"
"Crap, Telling me that he wasn't ready to be a Dad and he is sorry for running away and that he is out of the country" She sobbed as I tapped her lap gently.
"He never deserved you, let's drink and forget about everything tragic. Wipe your tears Mel" I uttered cheerfully and clanked my glass to hers as she smiled widely.
"To being besties forever!" I cheered
"To being a CEO!" She cheered as my mouth dropped in Awe.
"Already!? You didn't tell me you're going back to take over from your dad! Congrats Mel" I uttered excitedly as we hugged.
"Yeah, it was supposed to be a surprise! Well I'm not exactly taking over everything yet, my Dad actually made me stop school in order for me to learn about his company. I did this for two months before the pregnancy drama, I used your pregnancy as an excuse to leave town" She uttered as I chuckled.
"I will always be your savior"
"Really, so once I go back to New York I will take over the Men wears company" she added.
"So when you told me about your plans of dropping out, it was all your dad's idea? Were you cool with it?" I asked and took a sip of my wine.
"Yes I was, I was alone at school and I guess I never liked schools".

It's been a month since Edde and everyone else left the house, Edde promised to be back in two weeks time but two weeks turned to a month and he isn't still sure of when he would be back. Although we keep up through video calls and phone calls.
I have already adjusted to staying alone with my son and the workers. Miss Brooke has been quite helpful around here too, she is better than what I thought her to be.
Today will be the first day of Grey seeing the sun. There is a mommy and baby conference at the hospital which my doctor has begged me to attend. I know quite well that it would be helpful for me and Grey. Also, I have nothing to do at home.
I gently wiped my wet face as I stared at my beautiful reflection on the mirror, I changed so much ever since I birthed Grey. I gained weight and my skin became prettier.
I sighed as I walked out of the bathroom to see Miss Brooke dressing Grey in a nice little onesie and I was forced to smile at her dedication and love for my Son, she was literally Caring for Grey than I do.
"Thank you so much Miss Brooke" I said standing by the entrance between the room and the bathroom as she turned to me with a warm smile on her face and nodded. "You can go now, I will do the rest on my own" I uttered reassuringly as she nodded and quickly left.
"Hey Grey" I mumbled playfully as I pulled him up making him coo enthusiastically sucking his fist. "Come on here, mummy has to dress, you look handsome by the way" I said and placed him on his glider.
I checked the time and I still had a little more time to catch up with the conference. I stood in front of the Walk-in closet as I placed a video call on Edde. I tried my best never to thwart his order of not choosing my clothes.
I was getting quite comfortable with it, and I kinda love it anyway.
"Hey, Edde, I and Grey are almost ready for the conference but…"
"Oh yeah, your outfit, I totally forgot to make my choice yesterday" he sighed as I nodded to his choice of word 'My choice'. "Uhm, put on the leopard print gown and the black flat shoes I bought from Barb huh? And the leopard print Jimmy Choo handbag to match with everything." He said as I quickly grabbed the outfit he was talking about. "And yeah, pull your hair up in a tight bun for the sake of Grey"
"Alright, bye" I said and hung up.
I sighed as I took the complete fit Edde chose, the fact that he still demands to choose my outfits even when he is MIA from me is crazy.
After a little while I was done getting ready for the conference, I placed Grey into the carrier and tightened it at my back.
I walked out of the house to see the chauffeur standing next to the car I planned on going with as I sighed. "Edde asked you to come with me right?" I asked calmly as he nodded and opened the door for me.
"Of course he would" I mumbled breathlessly as I sat comfortably at the back and sat Grey on the glider Edde fixed to the car.
"Please be careful with your pace, I have a baby with me" I uttered.
"Yes ma'am".
As we drove to the hospital Edde couldn't stop texting about our safety and calling me, I was literally getting pissed with his whole over protectiveness so I turned on the flight mood.
Does he see me as a teenager or what? Ever since he travelled that has always been the issue. He literally video calls everyday asking about our safety and if Grey has eaten and other annoying questions.
Worse still when I'm far from home without Grey.
