Chapter 34
"It's a good thing I came to my senses when I saw that girl, maybe because she's my friend or something, I don't remember much as long as I remember, since that incident happened I've avoided getting angry and transforming otherwise needed "Trevas said before looking out the window. Somehow, I want to thank that girl because if it weren't for her Trevas might have been like her mother who was swallowed up in anger so many innocent people were killed.
"What happened there to the girl?" I will ask.
"I don't remember much but they also left later with his mother who was just a guest of king father"
I was about to speak and ask more questions when I was suddenly distracted by a flash in Lieutenant Jared's pocket. Trevas and Lina also looked in his pocket.
Lieutenant Jared put his hand on his bulldozer and took out the shining object but the light immediately disappeared so I could see better what was the object that came out of his pocket. It was a paper and when he opened it I just realized that it was a 'messenger' and it looked like someone had sent a message to him.
Lieutenant Jared read what was written on the messenger and I saw Lina peek in as well but Lieutenant Jared didn't stop her and just let her go.
I suddenly noticed lieutenant Jared's serious face before lowering the messenger he was holding and looking seriously at Trevas.
"What is it?" Trevas asked when he noticed lieutenant Jared's seriousness.
"Alastor ... He's back"
"Where is he?" Vivian asked openly as soon as she entered the waiting room of Alastor's courtyard where we are currently waiting for news about Alastor's condition which is currently being checked up by a royal alchemist.
This courtyard is bigger and more beautiful compared to Trevas' courtyard, so I frowned as I looked inside the courtyard, which was full of dirty things. There is a large painting hanging above the fireplace that was painted by Mauline, a well -known artist.
Trevas pointed to the door next to him. He was leaning against the wall because he could no longer fit in the chair that Lina and I were sitting in while lieutenant Jared was sitting on the armrest next to Lina.
There were also helpers who went back and forth to the room to bring food for us but we chose not to eat that because we did not trust Alastor's helpers.
Vivian walked straight to the door pointed out by Trevas but before she could get there the door opened and the king came out next to the alchemist.
"What are you doing here? Haven't we agreed that you won't show up here again?" The king asked Vivian.
"I'm not here for you" Vivian said before walking straight into the room where Alastor was currently lying on the bed. Vivian sat down next to the bed before holding Alastor's hand but instead of pitying and softening my heart I became even more bored. He can be human but why is he so demonic to Trevas? Let's say that Trevas is not her child, but Trevas deserves to be treated just like how she treated Alastor.
I was distracted when the alchemist started talking about Alastor's condition but I couldn't quite understand what he was saying as long as I understood that Alastor would not wake up immediately because his blood flowed up to his brain due to the hanging.
"Isn't he going to die yet?" Lina asked why I suddenly slapped her on the thigh and she looked at me badly and planned to retaliate but before that happened Vivian suddenly came out of the room and looked at Lina.
"No, he's not going to die yet because you'll be the first" it said.
"Excuse me?" Lina asked and I could see that her fist was clenched because she was probably preventing herself from hitting Vivian because she knew that once she hit Vivian the replacement was a mess because apart from being a princess of Firlame Vivian was only of low rank by Lina who used to be my personal maid.
"I'll make sure you all" he pointed at us one by one. "You will be lost in the world before Alastor"
"Vivian, you forgot that you are in the territory" said the king as a reason to turn Vivian's gaze to him.
"Oh yeah? Try me Henrick, try me" Vivian threatened before she walked out of the courtyard.
I was suddenly nervous. Maybe Vivian won't make a mess?
A few days passed and thankfully Vivian didn't make a fuss. I'm still expecting Vivian to cause a scandal but we've been able to live quietly for the past day. Lina and I often just chill in Trevas' courtyard while Trevas and Lieutenant Jared are busy training their staff at the training camp located next to the palace. Sometimes Lina and I go with them and watch the warriors / wizards with beautiful bodies curled around j-jogging around the field.
We laughed at Lina's laughter as she got upset and argued over who had the most beautiful body out of the almost ten men who didn't have any clothes on and were jogging around and around but Lina was stunned when lieutenant Jared also joined in the j- jogging top-less.
"That's my baby!" Lina shouted as she stood, causing lieutenant Jared, who was already a little sweaty to run, to turn to us. Lina shook me when lieutenant Jared smiled at her but I just pulled her to sit down because people were already looking at us.
"Need to shout?" I asked before grabbing a chiffon cake in the basket containing what what food. We actually brought it for Trevas and Lieutenant Jared but because they were still busy and it would be over later, Lina and I ate a lot first.
"Of course the mages have been looking at him for a while, I have to shout at me, there's no seizure" Lina said before grabbing a chiffon cake from the basket. I looked around and saw other mages, or female warriors glancing in Lieutenant Jared's direction.
"That's it oh Alissa! It's delicious" Lina whispered before pointing. I laughed at the term he used but I also followed what he was teaching with my eyes.
"Where?"
"The one with the black belt" Lina said so I immediately saw the man she was pointing at. Her hair is black, her hair is big and muscular and she is currently sweating profusely. His nose was runny and his eyes were narrowed and the first time I looked at him I knew that this man was rude.
Tsk, tsk Lina is really fond of being rude. But I can't deny that the man he pointed out was handsome.
"handsome" I said sparingly.
"Who?" I was suddenly grabbed by my chest in shock when Trevas suddenly appeared behind us before taking a sandwich there in the basket we were carrying.
"That's handsome oh Trevas" Lina replied smiling before pointing at the handsome man I was looking at but why do I feel that Lina's smile has a different meaning?
Trevas looked at what Lina was pointing at before she silently walked towards them. The men stopped jogging for a moment and saluted Trevas. Trevas and the man I said was handsome talked for a while but since Lina and I were far away we didn't know what they were talking about as long as we saw the man nod before walking away from the field.
"There, you're mad Alissa. You made Trevas angry" Lina said while moving her index finger in front of me. I was about to ask what I did again but I suddenly stopped when Lina held my arm again and shook me.
"Look!" Lina yelled at me even though we were just close while her hand was pointing at the field and I could almost swallow what I was eating when I saw Trevas who was now with lieutenant Jared j-jogging around the field while topless.
I was stunned by Trevas who was now smiling in our direction and I couldn't help but look at his body. I know it's a bit rude but you can't stop yourself from admiring good things, can you?
"Maybe it will melt" Lina whispered to me causing me to come to my senses. He laughed when he saw my reaction before placing both hands over his mouth and taking a deep breath before shouting.
"Trevas!" She turned to us and I was suddenly nervous about what Lina would say to her. "Because you're just Alissa!"
I suddenly hit Lina with the rod but she just laughed as I saw Trevas smile while lieutenant Jared and the rest of his j-jogging companions laughed at him but I wasn't surprised, was it the strength of his voice Lina would not have been impossible if she had been heard throughout the camp.
In recent days, Lina has been repeatedly teasing Trevas and me and sometimes lieutenant Jared and Trevas' other staff are still in the camp. I can't deny that I'm interested in Trevas because apart from saying that he's 'handsome', he's been good to Lina and me and I know that the woman he can stay with is lucky but I only feel interest in him because apart from being afraid I like that I know that deeo inside I still have feelings for Luke. And one more thing, I don’t know if Trevas is also interested in me or really he just doesn’t refuse or get angry when we both tease.
The days passed quickly and finally came Saturday, Trevas ’coronation day. The sun was shining and Lina and I were ready because we still had a lot of rituals to do unlike men who only need to take a bath and get dressed.
As soon as I woke up I caught up with Lina in the dining room and was eating breakfast cooked by the kitchen staff assigned here in the courtyard. After Lina and I ate we went back to her her room to take a shower. I soaked in the bathtub while surrounded by scented candles as fresh as fragrant flowers. I don't know how long I soaked and relaxed in the bathtub as long as it was long and for too long the fragrant smell of candles stuck to my skin and my skin wrinkled with my fingers.
