Chapter 28
"Kill that child!"
"Kill him before he can" one interrupted as the black magic surrounding Freya grew darker and from behind her a black creature ten feet tall emerged. It has sharp horns and long red nails that gently caress Freya's shoulder.
"It's a D-demon! Real demon!" shouted one before sitting on the floor and tried to move away but before he could stand he was suddenly surrounded by black magic and at the same time two black creatures gradually emerged from the ground but could not see their faces because they were covered by a black hood. The man they surrounded shouted in fear but soon his voice disappeared when the hooded black creatures sucked his soul and only bones and skin were left of him.
Many more black hoods came out of the ground and sucked the souls of the people who were now rioting and shouting as they tried to flee but Freya did not escape and laughed watching the events. He doesn't know why but he feels joy and satisfaction every time he hears the uplifting screams of the people as they are slowly dying.
Freya stepped forward as black creatures flew around her and absorbed the soul of anyone who could see. Freya walked slowly and smilingly looked at the bones and skin corpses around her but she suddenly woke up when she heard a familiar shout.
"Freya!"
Freya stopped walking and turned to the source of the scream. They caught sight of her parents who were still kneeling on the floor and bleeding. At the same time the black creatures surrounding Freya suddenly disappeared and went back underground and her former white hair went back to being black.
Freya closed her eyes and looked at the corpses around her. He felt fear and guilt for a moment when he remembered that he was the one who did all this but you also immediately disappeared when he remembered how shameless these people had been to his parents.
"Freya ..." Freya turned her gaze back to her parents and slowly walked closer to her.
"What have you done?" asked his mother who frowned at him.
"It's ok, they deserve it" was Freya's short answer but she noticed the fear in her parents' eyes. "Why? Am I wrong?"
"We have to go" said his mother, not bothering to answer his question. "I'm sure people will come back and you'll be the one they'll try. No- they won't try you, they'll make sure they kill you"
Since then Freya and her parents have moved to the most secluded part of the forest where no people can disturb them. But since then Freya has changed. His parents thought it was because of his discovery of being a winter demon but they did not know that the reason he changed was because he became aware of the greedy nature of people. He became aware of the fact that the world does not accept dark users like them and the time will never come when the world will accept them as well.
As years passed, Freya's anger with the people grew even more because her father once came home wounded after returning from town to buy their necessities that are not found in this forest. His father goes to town at least twice a month but he often comes home wounded because he is attacked by people but fortunately he always escapes using shadow teleportation which is one of the common powers of dark users.
"I want to burn the whole city" Freya said as she watched her mother treat her father who came home wounded again.
"Stop it Freya, nothing good will happen if you take revenge on them" his mother disobeyed him. Even she is scared of Freya whenever she speaks without emotion about destroying a kingdom as if it was just a simple thing and very easy to do.
Freya is 13 years old now but she seems to be old enough to think because she became aware of the greed of the world early but her parents still do not allow her to leave the jungle and return to the kingdom of Beifang which is the place she hates the most.
Freya is currently sitting on the grass in the middle of the forest a few meters away from the hut where they live. Opposite him are waterfalls that create noise but mix with the faint sounds of birds in the trees and the steps of dangerous animals around.
Freya turned to her right when she heard the footsteps of a manticore. It was a lion with long horns and wings while the tail was similar to that of a scorpion but instead of being scared Freya and she just calmly looked at the dangerous animal. He is used to seeing people like this and the animals here in the forest are also used to him so they don't attack him anymore.
Freya just shrugged her shoulders as the manticore walked away and she turned her attention back to the beautiful waterfalls in front of her but she suddenly stood up when she heard an unfamiliar voice.
"Royal guards!"
Freya hid in a tree and peeked where the voice was coming from. Sometimes there are hunters passing by in this direction so Freya concluded that she is also a hunter who is looking for animals to catch but Freya was shocked when a boy who was almost her age exposed herself to her. It looked around as if it were missing and almost fell to the root of a large tree if it had not been so attached to a plant.
"Anyone?" the boy asked so Freya was sure that it was missing. He first watched for a few minutes the boy who was wandering around the forest while calling someone and when Freya was sure that this boy was not 'Dangerous' because apart from being alone he was level 5 earth. and it's just an air user. There is nothing out of the power of Freya who is a level 7 dark user at the age of 13.
"Who are you" Freya asked directly as soon as she appeared in the shadow of a large tree in front of the boy who was shocked by it and even held her chest before stepping back.
"Who are you?" its question back.
"I'll ask first" Freya leaned against the tree and narrowed her eyes at the boy. He bowed slightly before running his hand over his chest and bowing as if to greet a nobleman.
"I am Henrick Beifang."
