Chapter 84
Thankful to be alone again, away from everyone, Katrina made her way through the lonely streets of the silver town capital, seeking shelter for the night. All the business places had been closed and there was no one around she could ask for directions to the nearest guest house or motel she could spend the night, but nonetheless, she still kept on looking.
She suddenly caught sight of two hooded figures standing near a dark alleyway. They resembled gangsters and they looked pretty dangerous for them to be out at such a late time, but what could she do? There was no one else out she could ask and she didn't want to remain outside here for long...
"Excuse me," she called politely, walking up to them..
One of the men caught sight of her then and stared at her flirtatiously.
"Hey gorgeous, what are you doing out here so late? Come to see me?" They both laughed.
Katrina ignored the remark and simply asked the question she came for.
"Please I'm looking for the nearest motel or guest house I can spend the night... Can you kindly direct me?"
"You can spend the night at our place sweet cheeks..."
"There's lots of room for you honey..."
The perverted response from the both of them sent chills down her spine, making her awfully uncomfortable and she realized then that walking up to these men was a bad idea.
"Never mind," she shook her head and turned, about to walk away before she felt a strong grasp on her hand dragging her back.
"Where are you going? We're not done talking to you..."
"Leave me alone." She stubbornly tried to snatch her arm away, her heart racing, beginning to fear what these men will do to her if they didn't approve of her walking away from them like that.
"But we're just getting started honey..." He stated, refusing to go of her arm. His partner then flocked around her, grasping her butt tightly she flinched, not knowing what came over her as she threw a slap onto his face.
"You bastard," she yelled, "don't f****** touch me!"
"Oooh... feisty!" The one who held her hand said.
"You dare to slap me! You dirty b****!" The man said, clearly provoked by Katrina's actions, he dragged her from his partners grasp and pinned her to the ground.
"I'm going to teach you a lesson, you s***," he hit her, the impact from the slap resetting Katrina's brain as he was already forcefully unbuttoning her shirt and taking off his pants, much to the delight of his partner who cheered him on...
"Yes!!! F*** her!!! F*** her right!!!! Yes f*** her till her c*nt falls off!!!!"
"Let her go!"
They suddenly heard the dominant voice coming from behind them, wondering who the bastard was to dare to interrupt their fun. They turned and upon seeing him, he jumped to his feet, letting Katrina go like her skin burned him.
After lots of struggling, Katrina had almost given up to the strong grip of the man who pinned her, about to rape her when she suddenly opened her eyes to see who had interrupted, thankfully.
Much to her surprise and partial embarrassment, she saw Renard standing there, anger written all over his face... Anger directed towards the men.
"What were you about to do to her?" He asked the man who just gotten off Katrina.
"Nothing sir! I swear I was... just joking She She... S-she..." He Stuttered and before he could finish his sentence, a loud punch from Renard's hand sent his face twisting to the opposite direction.
Katrina feared, she thought he would fight back, even with the blood that started dripping from his mouth, he just stared at Renard along with his friend, their faces mirrored that of a girl who'd just seen a monster.
Only two words from the beta, and the two men ran away instantly, their wolf tails in between their legs...
"Get out."
After they disappeared, Katrina got up from the ground, her faced flushed clearly revealing the handprint from the slap as she located her suitcase and walked up to him. This time, she didn't let her pride get in the way of apologizing and at the same time thanking him for saving her c*nt.
"I'm sorry," she didn't know when the tears started falling from her eyes as she murmured.... "I didn't just.... I'm sorry for talking to you that way... I just.... I was just so hurt....I was just so angry.... I'm sorry that I took it out all out on you... Thank you for coming to save me."
"Are you alright?" He responded instead, much to her surprise. She didn't expect that answer, Instead she expected him to scold her or probably tell her "I told you so," but instead, he was asking if she was all right.
"I'm fine, thank you for saving me," she continued.
"It's okay," he said, "I knew I wouldn't forgive myself if I let you come here all on your own this late, I'm sorry for not arriving earlier but at least you got to see some of the things I was saying for yourself."
"Yes I did see... Thankfully you came on time," she admitted shamefully.
He placed his two hands on her shoulders and assured her, "it's okay Katrina I'm not mad at you for anything you said to me."
"You should be... I was a terrible person," she cried.
He ignored her and asked instead, "so where were you planning on going?"
"I was looking for a hotel or somewhere to spend the night... that's what I was asking those men before they attacked me. "
"Well, next time when you see people like that you don't go to ask them.... they're not there for you to ask, okay?"
She nodded, "yes I've learned my lesson now..."
"Good. I understand that you don't want to return to the pack house tonight.... So if you don't mind I can offer you my place to stay."
"Me? At your house?"
"Yes, I have a couple of homes across the provinces. I have two in this town and one of them is closeby, you can spend the night there... don't worry, I'm on patrol duty so I'll be sleeping in the pack house.... you can stay there until you're comfortable to return any time."
"Oh I don't want to cause trouble.... I just... I'd rather stay on my own. I don't want to be a burden to anyone at this point..."
"You're not a burden, Katrina. I'm the one who's offering, just take the help I'm offering and stop letting your ego get in the way."
He didn't let her respond, he took the suitcase from her and led the way.
