Sold as Slave Chapter 96

Third Person’s POV Adam had to put aside his ego just to remain in Brett's house. He understood that he needed to be obedient if he wanted to stay in a place where he could catch a glimpse of Agatha. "But man, Brett can be so irritating," he muttered, removing his shirt and heading into the shower. After his refreshing bath, he stepped out with only a towel wrapped around his waist. With his wet, ebony hair cascading down, tiny droplets trickling down his chiseled abs, Adam exuded an irresistible allure that could make any woman weak in the knees. It seemed as though he effortlessly checked off every item on their wish list. As he ran his fingers through his jet-black hair, which resembled the enchanting night sky, his well-defined muscles flexed in his forearms. Not a single hair adorned his smooth, fair skin, making it gleam like freshly fallen snow. Women might hesitate to leave a mark on his body, fearing that even a simple kiss could make him blush. Unaware of his own captivating appearance, Adam furrowed his brow while searching for something. "Where is the blower?" he growled. Finding out that Brett had forgotten to lend him a blower, Adam let out a frustrated click of his tongue and ran his fingers through his damp hair once more. The way his hair clung to his forehead irritated him to no end. Despite only having a towel wrapped around his waist, he mustered up the courage to approach the door and swing it open. "Hey! There's no..." He was about to voice his complaint, fully aware that no one would hear him out. However, as soon as the door swung open, he was met with the sight of a woman standing before him. Unbeknownst to Adam, Agatha was actually on her way to meet Brett. She happened to be passing by when the door unexpectedly swung open, causing her to come to a sudden halt upon seeing Adam standing there. Adam blinked his wide eyes in surprise. Agatha fluttered her eyelashes in response. After a few moments, they both realized the awkwardness of the situation they found themselves in. "Damn," Agatha exclaimed, her breath catching in her throat as she swiftly spun around. Although Adam hadn't closed the door, he quickly lowered his hands and discreetly covered the area with the towel, hiding what would reveal his impressive size. He was oblivious to his own sexiness, but he knew he had something substantial down there. "Sh*t," Adam cursed silently to himself. "W-Why are you here?" Agatha stammered, refusing to turn around. She knew that if she did, she would be confronted with that unwanted image again: his alluring face, his muscular chest, his defined abs, his strong legs, and... well, you know. "Damn it, I can't get it out of my head," Agatha complained inwardly, her inner voice fueling her female hormones. Even though she didn't have romantic feelings for him, it was only natural to feel a surge of heat in her body just from glimpsing his half-naked physique. Especially when she accidentally caught a glimpse of the size of his package beneath the snug white towel. Blushing, Adam stammered, "I'm gonna crash here. Why? Got any complaints?" Agatha scowled deeply. For a moment, she forgot about his current condition and glanced back. "That's the issue. Why are you..." But then she caught sight of his chest again, so she turned her head away from him. She swallowed hard and added, "I m-mean..." "You're in danger," Adam sighed, stating the obvious. Since Agatha refused to look back, Adam relaxed his arms. Leaning against the windowsill, he watched her from behind. "I'm here to ensure that my former client stays alive until her contract expires," he explained, his gaze fixated on her neck. When he mentioned the danger she was in, Adam suddenly wondered if he was referring to himself. 'Her neck looks so soft. I wonder how it would taste. I actually want to lick it.' His eyes widened at his own thought. He bit his crimson lips and shook his head, utterly surprised by the lewd idea that had crossed his mind. He tried to resist, but as soon as he glanced at her nape once more, the same thoughts flooded back. "If you're really thinking about me," Agatha's words jolted him back to reality. In a daze, Adam attempted to focus on what she was saying. "W-What?" "You shouldn't have walked out with just a towel on. It hurts my eyes, you know," Agatha complained. "H-huh?" Adam glanced down at himself and then back at her. 'Now that I'm looking, she's much shorter than me. And her frame is so small. If I were to hold her in my arms, it would be hard to see her from behind, right?' "Go inside, please," Agatha pleaded. She could have just run away without looking back. But she was worried that her peripheral vision might catch a glimpse of his body, so she suggested it would be better for him to go inside and close the door instead. Thud. She heard the door close. 'He's already inside, great,' Agatha cheered silently. With a smile on her face, she turned around to walk away. But... "Are you that happy when I'm out of your sight?" "Oh!" She took a quick step back. One hand on the side of her head. And droplets of water dripping onto her forehead. It happened so quickly that when Agatha looked up, she found herself face to face with him. If she thought it was better to see him up close because she wouldn't see half of his body, then she was mistaken. She was well aware of that fact. "Stay away," she murmured, lifting her hands to push him back. However, she soon realized that raising her hands was a big mistake. As she did so, she accidentally touched his chest. "Hey," he said in a low voice. Agatha swallowed nervously before casting her eyes downward. She hesitantly glanced at her hands on his chest, causing her to gasp. "...!" Hastily, she withdrew her hand, but Adam grabbed hold of one and held it near her ear. Instinctively, her gaze returned to meet his – a gaze that seemed ready to devour her whole. "Even if you don't want to see me, bear with it." "..." "Because I'll lose my mind whenever you're not around." Agatha, feeling scared without any apparent reason, instinctively nodded her head. All she wanted was to bring this encounter to a swift conclusion! "Do you want to hear what I'll do when I go crazy?" he murmured. Although Agatha didn't really need to reply, she inquired, "What is it?" "I'll bite." "Huh?" Adam suddenly grabbed her hand and brought it close to his mouth, teasingly licking her fingertips. "Hmm," Agatha let out an unexpected sound, surprised by her own reaction. When she realized what he was doing, she pushed him away in anger. "What are you doing!" Adam chuckled huskily, his laughter echoing through the empty hallway. He knew now that he was deeply infatuated with her – so much so that he wanted to devour her completely. ** ** Agatha's POV On my way to meet Brett, I ran into Adam. After he helped me out before, I started seeing him in a different way. But then he did something again that made me feel really cautious. I glanced at my fingertips. Even though I washed them multiple times, I could still feel the sensation of his tongue on my skin. And when I remembered how seductive his gaze was while he kissed my fingers, it sent shivers down my spine. "Why on earth did my uncle let him stay here?" I grumbled, wiping my hands on my shirt. A few seconds later, I realized the strange term I used to refer to that troublesome boss. "Uncle?" My whole body shook as I tried to hold back the laughter. As I opened my mouth, I burst into uncontrollable laughter. Sometimes I think my face is so unattractive, and if there was a mirror in front of me right now, I would find my laughing face incredibly amusing. I used to call him 'uncle,' a faint chuckle trailed off. Raising my head slightly, I spotted the man I had been searching for. The word 'Uncle' almost slipped out, but I managed to keep it hidden beneath my tongue. Brett noticed me, paused for a moment, looking somewhat surprised, then flashed a smile, as if it was the most natural thing to do at that moment. I was taken aback by the smile on his face. It wasn't a jolt, but more like a gentle nudge, like a boat gliding through calm waters. 'A surge of emotion.' Was it because he rarely showed his true feelings? Instinctively, I looked down, taking a moment to compose myself. When I finally glanced up, he was standing right in front of me. “Why did you suddenly look down when you saw me?” I involuntarily mumbled, "Um, just..." I glanced at his expression. When I noticed his smile had vanished, I felt a wave of relief. 'Phew.' "By the way, you showed up at the perfect moment," Brett remarked, "I've been trying to find you. If I had known it would be so difficult to catch you inside my house, I would have taken you to a more secluded spot where it would just be the two of us and..." His self-assured words trailed off in my ears, and I tuned out everything else. He continued talking, but I simply stared at him. I wanted to mention that I had been searching for him as well, but... I decided against it. The strange tightness in my chest prevented me from speaking. "Why..." My initial word silenced his rambling. "Why are you searching for me?" My heart starts pounding like a sledgehammer as I inquire, and I have no idea how I managed to keep my voice steady. "Have you eaten yet?" I couldn't answer his simple question. My tongue felt like leather, my feet like lead, and I was breathing as if there was a boiling kettle in my throat. I realized it was all because of the uneasiness I felt after seeing him sick in his room that day. Why did I hold his hand? The question came back to me again. "Hey, did you hear me? I asked you if you already had your dinner." I looked up and locked eyes with him. Following that event, Brett pretended like nothing had occurred. I had a suspicion that he might have forgotten about it due to his illness, causing him to behave strangely on impulse. Nevertheless, I must confess that it was one of the factors that influenced my decision to stick with him, despite all the things he had done. “I haven’t had my dinner, UNCLE,” I answered.
