Shen Heyu nodded and, after bidding farewell to Gu Siyu, closed the door and went back to her room to rest.
Heyu’s head was throbbing a bit, and she soon fell into a deep, groggy sleep. However, a situation had arisen at Gu Siyu’s seaside vacation home, located in a suburb far away from her.
When Song Miaoyu emerged from the basement laboratory, she saw an uninvited guest sitting on the couch. He appeared well-dressed in a suit and shoes, and although he seemed refined, there was a hint of murderous intent in the corners of his eyes.
Song Miaoyu was not at all afraid of the uninvited guest. She walked over and sat down on a couch across from Chen Wenzhou, casting a glance at the bodyguards—or perhaps it would be more accurate to call them assassins—standing in the room, whom Chen Wenzhou had brought with him.
“Seems like you have some skills to be able to sneak in right under my junior brother’s watchful eye. So, who might you be?” Song Miaoyu wasn’t the least bit intimidated by the man before her.
Despite his seemingly hostile intentions, Song Miaoyu remained calm and composed.
“Your junior brother is currently busy falling in love, naturally leaving him with less energy to focus on you. So, sneaking in wasn’t difficult for me at all,” said Chen Wenzhou indifferently, even leisurely picking up a cup of coffee from the coffee table and taking a slow sip.
Song Miaoyu didn’t originally take the man before her seriously. However, his previous comment piqued her interest.
“You’re saying my junior brother is falling in love?” Song Miaoyu found this hard to believe, considering her junior brother had been chaste and indifferent to women for years. Where would he find a girlfriend?
“You don’t believe it?” Chen Wenzhou was slightly surprised but quickly understood.
“That makes sense. Ever since you came to Hua Country, you’ve been cooped up in the underground lab every day working on the antidote, so you certainly wouldn’t have time to pay attention to other matters.”

Chen Wenzhou pulled out a photograph from his suit pocket and laid it on the coffee table. Song Miaoyu frowned as she glanced at the photo of Shen Heyu embracing Gu Siyu at the entrance of the hospital.
Seeing this photo, Song Miaoyu suddenly felt her breath catch, but she quickly lifted her head and eyed the man before her with caution.
“A photo of an embrace doesn’t mean anything; it’s just a friendly hug. I’ve embraced Gu Siyu like that before myself.”
Song Miaoyu acted unperturbed, but Gu Siyu had come prepared this time, with ample evidence at hand.
“If you don’t believe the story this photo tells, then perhaps you’ll believe this recording.”
Chen Wenzhou quickly took out a voice recorder, pressed the play button, and the voices of Shen Heyu, Pei Yansi, and Gu Siyu filled the air.
It was a recording from earlier that evening after Shen Heyu and Gu Siyu had embraced outside the hospital, only to be caught on the spot by Pei Yansi. Pei Yansi had run over to confront Shen Heyu, but Gu Siyu had stepped in, clearly declaring their relationship as boyfriend and girlfriend.
The recording clearly stated they had become a couple that day and confirmed their romantic relationship.
After the playback finished, Chen Wenzhou saw Song Miaoyu’s complexion turn utterly sour in an instant, her face losing all color.

Before, Song Miaoyu hadn’t taken this lackey seriously, and hadn’t paid much attention to his affairs, so it was understandable that she didn’t recognize him at first.

Song Miaoyu coldly tugged at the corner of her mouth, not taking Chen Wenzhou’s words to heart at all.
“Since you’ve graced me with such high regard as the world’s foremost genius girl in poison-making, I might as well reluctantly admit it.”
“If you think so highly of me, then you should know that no one can take away what I set my sights on.”
By stating her position, Song Miaoyu revealed to Chen Wenzhou that she was also ruthless, perhaps even more so than him.
“What good does it do to not watch idly as someone takes what’s yours? Isn’t Shen Heyu already in a relationship with Gu Siyu now?”
“So, what’s the reason for finding me and saying all this bizarre stuff, if not to use me for something?”
Song Miaoyu didn’t believe the man before her had any pointless agenda in seeking her out.
