Annabel is in love
A few minutes After Annabel had finished talking to Rose on the phone, she went into the bathroom to take a quick shower. After bathing, the scene that welcomed her eyes was Mara standing in front of her so happy. It was as if she waa having a goodnews that she would love to share with Annabel. She jumped up and down with so much excitement while Annabel stood there with a towel tied around her body.
"What is the excitement all about?"
"I am happy for you. I have goodnews."
Annabel who was so anxious to know what the the goodnews was all about hurriedly took a few step towards Mara as she looked very happy to hear the goodnews.
"I got his number." She laughed out loud.
"You did?"
"Yes, sister. I asked Daniel for his number and Daniel told him that i was asking for his number so he gave it to me by himself instead."
"Does he know who wanted the number? Or did you tell him i wanted it?"
"No, no, no. I didn't. I only asked him in the normal way that he wouldn't suspect anything.
"Let me see."
Annabel stretched out her hand and collected the paper where his number was written.
She went into her dressing room while Mara sat on the bed waiting for her and when she was done dressing, she decided to try the number.
"What is his name?"Annabel asked.
"Oh!"
"So you didn't ask?"
"No, no, no, i did. His name is David."
"Ok"
She and Mara was now seated at the sitting room as she held the number in her hands. She didn't know if she should call him, she didn't want to be embarrassed. She wondered if she was really the one behaving this way for a guy she met for the first time.
"Call his number." Mara said.
Annabel gazed up at Mara without a word and nodded.
On the phone…
She dialled and saved his number and then decided to call him. She searched for his number because she had save his number as 'David the Handsome.' She called and when the phone was already ringing, she started to become nervous. The brave and fearless girl was now nervous.
It was so unfortunate that she called the number four times but no one picked the call.
"Is this his number? How did you even say you got this number? You said he gave it to you by him self, where and how did it happen?"
"I called my friend on phone and when my friend told him i was asking him for his number, my friend handed the phone over to him. I spoke with him and then he said after the call, he will send it as a text to me through my friend's phone. It was immediately after the call a message entered my phone and when i opened it, i realized that he had sent it. Just call again."
"Ok." Annabel called his number again as she waited for his response. This time around, the call was picked at the first ring.
Annabel noticed that the call had been picked, she waa so happy that she almost made the other person on the phone to know that she was in a happy mood because of him.
On the phone…
"Hello," David said.
"Hi, it's me. Eeeeem, my name is Annabel. The girl that…on the…" she was confused and didn't know what to say. She was confused and it was obvious that she ran out of words.
"Annabel?" He asked curiously.
"Yes, you remembered now?
"Annabel the fighter?" He chuckled.
Annabel let out a loud laugh as soon as she heard him call her Annabel the fighter. She now assumed that he knew her to be a warrior. She was scared that he would turn her down as soon as he realized that she was having feelings because of the way he had seen her fight those men. These thought didn't leave Annabel's head as she continued laughing so she doesn't mess with her happy moment with those stupid thought of hers.
"Yes, i am the one." She replied shyly.
"How are you doing? Hope you have taken some drugs to heal your unseen wounds?"
"I am okay. I didn't take any drugs but i will do that now, after the call."
"Good, girl. So sorry that i didn't pick earlier, i was taking my shower. The weather is hot this days. Heheheh."
"No, it's fine. I am not angry at all."
Mara just sat as she watched the scene before her.
"So, tell me, how are you spending your day?" He asked.
"I'm just at home. I needed to rest today and that was why i didn't go to work."
"Oh. How about we hang out to night? Maybe take some coffee this evening?"
Hearing those words from him, Annabel jumped up and down on the sofa where she sat as Mara because so anxious to know what he had told her.
"Sure! Just send me the address and i will come and meet you there."
David agreed as they ended the call.
"Oh my God! Actually i was so scared that i might be embarrassed but he spoke to me freely as if we have known each other for long now.
Mara was so curious that she needed to ask some questions.
"Did he say he likes you?"
"Not yet. He only said if we can have some coffee this evening and i accepted. Once i leave, make sure you don't leave this building because of the current situation at hand. I will also tell the securities not to let you out and not to let anyone in until i am back. I will try to come home fast, okay?"
Mara nodded.
"You told me that your sister would be coming today right? Have you called her today?"
"Yes, we spoke already and i already sent her your house address."
Annabel was satisfied to hear that from Mara. She wish to catch that fool that had tried to harm her dear Mara.
