I walked around the living room and looked at the clock again and again. It's almost 2 in the morning and Deandre hasn't come home. I kept wondering around until I heard the gate open. I walked out from the house and found Deandre park his car. He got out and he was surprised to see me.
"It's 2 in the morning in case you can't read the clock." He said in a cold tone. I nodded.
"I'm just worried that you haven't come home." I said and he nodded. We walked into the house together and he walked out to the pool at the back of the house. I followed him there. He pulled up his pants until his knee and then he sat on the side of the pool with his lower legs inside the water. I pulled up my PJ pants and sat beside him.
"You okay?" I asked.
"Go to sleep.. you're sick." He just said that instead of answering my question. Suddenly I heard his stomach growls and I turned to him.
"Ignore it and just go upstairs." He said and I got up. I walked inside taking out my portable stove. I brought the pan with me too towards the pool. I put it beside him and then I walked back into take spam.. eggs and bread. I brought it all out and started to cook the egg and the spam.
One thing that I find out about Deandre today is that.. he cares for other people until he forgets himself. He sent his secretary to buy me dinner but he didn't eat dinner himself.
"Here." I gave him the sandwich and he took it. He ate it silently and I sat beside him again.
"How's work today?" I asked.
"Go up and sleep.." He said while munching on his sandwich.
"I'm going to Milan tomorrow for a fashion show in 2 days." I said announcing it and he just nodded. I leaned my head to his shoulder and I closed my eyes.
"When will you come home?" That's new.
"3 days." I answered.
"Thanks for this.. but I'm going to bed." He said as he pushed my head a little. He got up and walked in leaving me alone there. He is really something.
I put back my stuff and walked back upstairs. I heard that he's talking to someone since he didn't close the door properly.
"Just saw your email about the kitchen design.. I like the classy one.. I change my mind.. My wife needs a kitchen and I didn't even think that I will get married and my wife needs a kitchen.. Just come finish it before wednesday before she comes back.. it might give her a little bit of boost seeing it after work.." That made me smile.
"Just do it and then change my fridge too.. it's too small. Yeah I will be here in New York when you're doing it. After you finish I will go to Santorini.. yes alone. Okay.. Finish it before wednesday.." He ended the call and I heard him enter the bathroom. I walked inside the room and laid on the bed. I looked up to the ceiling smiling.
I asked why there's no kitchen and he's going to make a kitchen for me. He even wanted to surprise me for it. Deandre.. you sure surprise me. And then I remember that he will go to Santorini after that.. remembering all the nightmares that he had makes me a little bit worried for him to go there alone.
I texted my manager if he can make a direct flight from Milan to Santorini. If he surprises me.. I need to surprise him too. Besides I don't need to see the kitchen, I already know that it will be good. The fact that he has a heart to surprise me and care about me is enough.
I heard Deandre come out from the bathroom and I turned my head to him. He looked so tired today since his eyebags are so visible. He dried his hair with a towel and then he walked to the bed. He laid his body beside me and turned facing away from me.
I pulled the blanket up to cover his body and I heard him snore a little bit. He's that tired and thank God tomorow is Sunday so he can rest a little bit. I sat up straight and turned my head looking at him.
He turned his body in his sleep facing me and I looked at his face observing him. I laid down again and turned my body facing him. I looked at his features and my hand reached for his face. I stopped and dropped my hand.
"Thankyou." I whispered.
Since I got married to this man, the worse treatment that I ever got was only that he's cold to me. He's unreachable, cold, jerk, bastard and the list just goes on but now I kinda see the other side of Deandre. The warm, caring and kind Deandre. I never thought this guy will have that kind of side.
It's been 2 months since we got married and as the time goes by this guy starts to surprise me more. I know that I still don't know about his first intention to marry me and the fact that he set Eric up so I hate Eric but I think I might starting to forget that I was forced to be in this marriage.
"Thankyou.. Deandre." I whispered once again and then slowly leaned to him. I kissed his forehead and caressed his cheek after that.. I fell asleep.
