Delilah's POV

I filled in the detail of my student bank account, which I had opened in school, which could be operated by my mom as well, because she was the guardian until I turned eighteen, along with all my other details.
In the end, I had the option of choosing a penname other than my real name. After thinking for a while, I typed ‘Taipan’ and clicked on the submit button.
‘Your account has been successfully created.’
‘Welcome aboard, Taipan.’
I smiled at the begging of my new journey. I knew what I was choosing, and I couldn’t be prouder than this.

A year had passed to the night when I had decided to take the first step in my career, and now I had successfully killed eight supernatural creatures until now. I wouldn’t say it was easy because I knew everything. Nope, the final exam was when you were left to deal with them where either you would kill him or her, or you would be killed by them. The situation becomes more like do or die.
Along with success, I also received a lot of ugly scars on my body as well. I knew mom would get tensed seeing that, but I hoped she would be mad at me.
After a year, I was returning home to surprise them, well, not just them but also to give a shock to those two villains of mom’s life who didn’t treat her like shit in the past year.

A small appeared on my face when I saw my phone, tomorrow was that idiot’s birthday, and I was glad that I still remember that now.
I asked the cab driver to stop the car outside the society because I didn’t want to get unnecessary attention. After hopping out of the cab with my belongings, I paid the driver and walked inside the society. I smiled at the guards of society before walking inside when I heard him asking.
“Why are you here now, Delilah?” he asked, eyeing me suspiciously.
“I’m here because it’s my home.”, I replied, walking toward him, wondering why did he ask anything like that in the first place.
“Yes, the same home from where you flew away with your boyfriend.”
Boyfriend?
Flew away?
“If you think like that, keep thinking. I don’t give a damn about it.”, I muttered, walking away from him.
“It’s not that any one of us think something like that on our own. Your other mother, Maya, has spread this news. Not that I care about it, but this news has made your sisters and your mother’s life a living hell by the taunts, you know. And Mia’s return is not at all help.”
“Mia returned home?”
“Yes! We heard that her husband divorced her and then kicked her out of his house.”, My jaw clenched hearing that. Why has no one informed me about it?
“Thank you for this piece of news information, Nick.”, I said with a tight smile on my lips. “By the way, I was in touch with Mr. Hayes, and he didn’t tell me anything like that. Do you know why?”
“Ummm.. “he seemed reluctant to answer that question, but I wanted for him to speak.
“Actually, he was thrown out of society just a few weeks later you left because your father accused him of having a secret affair with you, and a couple of people, including me, had seen you entering his house late at night, so… his students were not ready to believe that, but then he was never given an opportunity to explain himself.”
“Hmm!! Anything else that I should be aware of?”
“Be careful. Everyone thinks that you have tainted the name of your family as well as our clan.”
“Thank you again. Nick. I wonder why you are helping me so much.”, I asked, eying him suspiciously. Someone was helping me indirectly even though we barely knew each other.
“Because I like Mia from school days. We used to be classmates.”, He confessed bluntly, reminding me of HIM. “If possible, this time run away will all your family members.”, he added.
I didn’t say anything to him and walked toward the home. I dialed Mr. Hayes’s number, and after the second ring, he received the call.
“Hello, Delilah, how’re you?”
“Where are you, Mr. Hayes?” I asked, ignoring his question.
“At home. What happened?”
“I want to know the truth, Mr. Hayes? Where are you now?”
“So, you’re here and might be aware of the incident that happened when you left.”, he stated.
“And I’m mad that you didn’t tell me about it.”
“By the way, I’m at my home. A home that I had bought with my savings. If you’re getting worried for me, then don’t be because I’m enjoying my retirement peacefully. I’m sending you the address on your WtsApp.”
“Perfect. I will be there next morning.”, I said and was about to disconnect the call when I recalled Nick’s word. ‘If possible, this time run away will all your family members.’
“Mr. Hayes, I need a favor from you again. I know you have done a lot for me, but I’m still asking something from you shamelessly.”
“Tell me, dear. I know you won’t be asking if it wouldn’t have been important.”
“Do you have an idea about a place where four people can stay as a tenant?”
“I don’t know any of such places at this moment, but in case it is very important than those four people can stay at my flat. It’s a three BHK with servant quarter flat and can give me rent for that but make sure that those people should be nosy and loud, and yes, they shouldn’t be the bachelors because I don’t want a headache. A family will be fine.”, he added.
