The night at the party is getting deeper. I just remained sitting on one side while watching Hector being approached and talked to by various businesspersons. While he was doing that, he was not letting go of my hand. As if he was making sure I wouldn't be out of place because of what happened earlier.
"Hey..."
I immediately turned to him when I heard him call me softly. I smiled when I saw again how handsome he was. He is wearing a black tuxedo and also a black polo inside. The shape of his face became even more perfect because of his clean-cut hair compared to before because it was still long.
“Are you okay? Do you want to get out of here?” He asked me softly as he wrapped his arm around my waist. I bit my lower lip and looked up at him.
“I’m fine. You said there would be another bidding,” I said and avoided looking at him because I felt like I would melt at the way he stares at me. Out of the corner of my eye, I could see Ares staring at us.
I noticed earlier that he was watching me as if waiting for something. After Hector told everyone about our wedding six years ago, I didn’t even see the reactions of them all apart from being so shocked because Hector quickly took me out of there. Now Ares seems to be following us and just waiting for Hector to release me for a while so that he can get close to me. What does he need?
“Are you sure? We can go home if you want,” he said so I immediately shook.
I was about to speak when suddenly other well-known personalities arrived and immediately greeted Hector. He stood up right away and supported me as well.
“It’s so nice to see you again, Mr. and Mrs. Real. It's good that you made it despite your busy schedule.” Hector greeted them and shook hands. The two just smiled and glanced at me so I kept my wide smile even though I was embarrassed again.
“It’s our pleasure, hijo. We actually came here to see you. We heard that you have been married for a long time,” said the Real woman and turned to me then smiled. "I guess she's the lucky wife of yours."
“Yes, Mrs. Real. This is my lovely wife, Anastacia Solei Alcaraz…” said Hector and turned to me. “They are one of our big investors. Their eldest son is also my friend,” he said so I just nodded and held out my hand to the two adults.
“Pleasure to meet you, Mr. and Mrs. Real,” I said. Instead of shaking hands, the Real woman suddenly hugged me for a moment, which surprised me. I looked at her in surprise as she pulled away from me.
“Your grandmother is right. You looked so much just like your mother,” she said, which surprised me even more.
"If we're not mistaken, you're the long-lost heiress of the Alcaraz clan, right?" The Real man asked me so I was even more surprised.
My eyes widened. I saw Hector's startled turn at me so even more I didn't look at him. How did they know? I haven't been introduced to everyone yet. Who are they?
I awkwardly smile at them and just nodded. "Everything was so sudden, but yes, I am," I shyly replied to them. “But everything doesn't
have any formality yet so I hope it doesn't reach others. I'm sorry.”
“No, don’t worry, hija. Your grandmother and I are best friends. We're also glad you finally showed up yourself after so many years,” said Mrs. Real.
I didn't know what to answer so I just smiled. When I glanced at Hector, his expression was serious and he seemed to want to rush me with questions if only the couple was not in front of us now.
When I saw that they had started to talk about their respective social endeavors, I immediately got up to go to the bathroom. Even before I could take a step, Hector quickly caressed my hand so I quickly turned to him.
"Just going to the bathroom."
“Right. We're going home after. I'll wait for you at the parking lot,” he told me coldly. Surprisingly, I just nodded. I was about to speak but he stood up and took my pouch and then went to where his parents were. I just shrugged and quickly marched to the bathroom.
When I finished, I went out right away. But even before I could get past the hallway to CR, I was surprised when someone grabbed my arm violently. I could even feel his fingernail on my skin so I winced.
"What the hell," I whispered and turned it around. My jaw dropped when I saw the drunk Ares staring at me intently. I felt nervous when I saw the anger in his eyes.
"Ares."
“So, it’s true that you married Apollo while you were with me, huh? Is that why you didn't want anything to happen to us before because you were already married to my mortal enemy? To my brother, Ana,” he said full of anger and smiling sarcastically.
In an instant, I lost the feeling I was feeling and was replaced by anger. I looked at him from head to toe. He doesn't look as good as he used to when the party started. I also noticed that his mustache covered half of his face while at the time he didn't like this style. The two buttons of his polo shirt were also unbuttoned and the necktie was gone. He's wasted, I can tell.
I removed his hold on me. "I don't know what you're talking about," I said and was about to leave but he grabbed my arm again. This time, it was more intense and I already felt the pain.
“What is it, Ares? It's hurt!" I shouted. But he didn't even flinch. His angry eyes focused more on me.
“You cheated on me and married my brother, huh? Why, Ana? Of all people, why Apollo? I thought you understood how I hate that fucker but you fucking married him? Is that why you withdrew from our wedding? Because you prefer that motherfucker— ”
I didn't let him finish what he was going to say and I pushed and slapped him with all my might. I felt the pain in my palm as it pressed against his thick face. When he turned to me, his fury became even more visible. That if looks can kill, I will be dead right away.
“How fucking dare you say that to me. How dare you say that to me as if you were not going to marry my sister soon! As if you never planned to use me just for your own personal gain! How fucking dare you!” I shouted at him. Anger wells up in my heart because of what he said, and I don’t know where it’s coming from. That I do not know what the reason is.
“I confessed to you everything, Ana, and you said you were willing to help me. You said you were willing to accept— ”
“That was before I learned about your relationship with Agatha, Ares! I was willing to forgive you and help you get that fucking validation you needed, but you betrayed me! What happened between me, and Hector was just an accident but you… you… have been making me look like a fool for a long time!” I blurted out and burst into tears.
